9. get him back
Andrew didn't really expect to do much on the day before school. Probably finish unpacking the rest of his things, prep for the first day, have one or two anxiety attacks because he was gonna be at a new school with people he didn't know.
Andrew didn't think he'd end up at Moons house for a party. The girl had called him and his cousin, begging that the two of them and the rest of Miyagi-Do come to her party. Sam hesitantly agreed and after she left the call, Moons happy smile became a plotting smirk.
He begged Andrew to show up, saying it'd be good for him to meet new people plus she wanted him to meet her new girlfriend, Piper and a boy. Moon tried to play it off as the boy being the student stage manager, but Andrew could see the way she was holding back from laughing like an evil villain. He knew he was getting set up, but part of Andrew didn't care. He didn't want to start the school year hung up on an asshole.
So Andrew said yes.
Andrew ended up picking up Demetri, Sam, and Robby. As they all piled out of Andrew's car, Demetri was quick to run around the car until he was walking side by side with Andrew. His shoulder bashed into the Murphy boys shoulder every now and then, but Demetri didn't care and he knew Andrew didn't either.
"Your first Valley party!" Demetri screamed, shaking Andrew's shoulder with his hand that wasn't holding Trivial Pursuit.
Andrew chuckled at Demetri's excitement and turned to face him. Andrew's eyebrows raised as he brought his own hand up to pat Demetri's back. "And by lucky guess... your first Valley party too!"Andrew cheered and while Demetri's smile grew, his eyebrows furrowed at the same time and his head tilted like a confused puppy.
"How'd you know?" Andrew asked and instead of answering, he looked up to the house him and the rest of Miyagi-Do were walking toward. He sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets nervously. Beside the cast parties after every musical he's done, this was his first real party he's been to. Period.
"There's a lot of people out here already." He breathed out and he couldn't faintly hear Sam huff from in front of him. "I guess Moon invited other kids from school." She muttered, barely looking over her shoulder to look at her cousin.
Demetri sighed at all the people crowded outside of the house and inside the front entrance. "I only brought Trivial Pursuit. If I had known there'd be this many people, I would've brought Balderdash." He grumbled as they finally reached the steps of the home.
All of Miyagi-Do piled in. Andrew noticed Sam and Robby's steps stuttering in front of him, but he didn't think much of it.
Until he looked up and his eyes landed on all of the Cobra Kai's sitting across the room from them.
And then, Andrew's eyes met Hawk's, who sat at the center of the couch in between Aisha and Mitch.
Andrew's breath hitched, the air in the room heavier and harder to get into his lungs. For a second, Andrew's mind flashed moments of the last time he saw Hawk. In his room. Kissing him. That look on his face just before Andrew slammed the window closed on him.
Andrew cleared his throat and forced his eyes away from the boy, but he could still feel the burn of Hawk's eyes glued onto him.
"Oh! Well, I need a drink." Andrew blurted, wanting to get out of the room. The heat of the moment and Hawk's stare started to creep up his neck like an itch he couldn't scratch.
He was close to leaving the room–bolting almost, but he came chest to chest with Moon smiling up at him and the rest of the team. "Andy! Sam! You guys made it!" Moon cheered, unknowingly blocking the exit for Andrew to leave.
To be a considerate guest, Andrew smiled at Moon and pulled her into a hug. "Wouldn't miss it. Hey, where are your d–"
Knowing what he was going to say, Moon turned her head to her left and pointed to another door Andrew hadn't noticed until now. "Kegs are out back, drinks are in the kitche–"
This time, Moon was cut off by Andrew leaning forward and kissing her cheek. "Thank you! You're amazing!" Andrew groaned, running out of the room before Moon could even finish the rest of her sentence.
Moon (and Hawk's) eyes followed Andrew out of the room and Moon groaned at how fast the boy left. She brought a hand up to her mouth to amplify her voice before she yelled after him. "Hey! Don't go too far! I've gotta introduce you to Siddiq!"
That made Hawk's eyes finally leave Andrew and turn to Moon. He didn't even notice Andrew turn back around to Moon and throw a thumbs up into the air and scream, "got it!" All he could focus on was the fact that Moon was going to introduce Andrew to Siddiq.
Was she trying to set them up? Why would she do that?!
From the kitchen doorway, Andrew scanned the crowd. He took a deep breath, savoring the buttery scent of pigs in a blanket curling through the air. It was nice, but that wasn't what he came here for. He walked around the table, looking the room up and down until his eyes finally landed on a cooler in the corner of the room.
There was a pep in Andrew's step as he walked toward the cooler. There was a boy already there, squatting down and searching for whatever drink he wanted and Andrew stopped just a step behind him and he leaned slightly to one side to try and peek into the cooler, but he couldn't get a good look inside.
"Got any beers in there?" Andrew decided to just ask.
The boy looked up.
Their eyes met and for a split second, the boy froze.
He blinked, frozen halfway through his search, his hand still submerged in the cooler. His expression was unreadable, somewhere between startled and stunned in a wide-eyed curiosity.
Andrew raised his eyebrows, lips twitching in the faintest smirk. He didn't say a word, just watched the boy straighten slowly, still staring.
In the corner of Andrew's mind, a thought flickered: cute. Very cute.
Eventually, the boy blinked hard, like snapping out of a dream, and he turned back to the cooler. "Yep!" He muttered as he pulled out a bottle with a little too much focus.
Andrew took the beer, brushing his fingers just barely against the boy's as he did. "Thanks." Andrew said, his lips curving into a small smile.
The boy smiled back and Andrew had to push back the thought that told him how cute this boy was. The boy still said nothing. He just stayed crouched by the cooler, like he needed a second longer to pull himself together.
"No problem." He managed to get out, a smile forcing its way onto his face.
Andrew wanted to keep talking to the boy. His eyes looked around until they landed on the bottle opener right beside him on the kitchen island. He quickly grabbed the opener and turned back to the boy once he got his bottle open. Andrew opened his mouth to speak when—
"Andy!"
Andrew and the other boy both turned their heads at the voice coming from the other end of the kitchen. While the boy crouched by the cooler looked to Andrew, finally knowing his name, Andrew smiled at Miguel coming toward him.
When Miguel reached Andrew, his arm was up and out for the boy to dap him up. As their hands clasped together, Miguel pulled Andrew into his chest and smacked his back as a hug.
"Hey, man." Andrew muttered as they pulled away and Miguel smiled.
"Hey." He said back with a big smile before his eyes moved to the boy with Andrew, still crouched down by the drinks. Miguel perked up and he took a step closer to the boy. "Can you get me a beer?" Miguel asked and the boy gave Miguel a tight lipped smile and nodded.
He quickly searched through the cooler before pulling out a beer and handing it to Miguel by the neck. "Here you go." The boy said dryly, but Miguel didn't pick up on his tone, either too drunk or he didn't care. Miguel only took the bottle and nodded tot he boy.
"Thanks, bro." Miguel said, grabbing Andrew my the shoulder and pulling him out of the kitchen, back toward the living room.
As soon as it was just the two of them walking, Miguel smiled tot Andrew, shaking his shoulder in excitement. "How have you been, man?"
Andrew smiled, big and toothy. He was happy he didn't burn any bridges with Miguel by leaving Cobra Kai and joining Miyagi-Do. He really did love hanging out with Miguel and he could tell that he was one of the few good guys in Cobra Kai, so it wouldn't hurt to tell him that he moved, right?
"Good. Good. My dad and I moved." Andrew said through a fit of chuckles.
The two of them entered the living room and Miguel pulled them aside so they weren't blocking the walkway. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion and his head shook a little. "What? What do you mean you and your dad..." Miguel's words died out on his tongue as he watched Andrew's smile slowly get wider and wider.
Catching on, Miguel let out a loud, cackle-like laugh and smacked Andrew's arm. "Holy shit! You moved to the Valley?"
Trying to keep himself looking "calm and collected," Andrew smiled and nodded. "Going to West Valley and everything." He hummed happily, and Miguel continued to laugh.
"No way! That's awesome, dude!" Miguel grinned, clapping Andrew on the shoulder. "You're seriously moving here? Like, for real-for real?"
Andrew laughed, a quiet, sheepish nod going with it. "Yeah..." He said, still smiling as he looked around the party. His eyes were close to sparkling as he looked over the lights, the new faces he was gonna start to learn throughout the school year...
And then his eyes found Hawk.
He was across the room, laughing—flirting—with a girl Andrew didn't recognize.
Andrew's chest tightened, his stomach lurching like he'd just been shoved backward. Miguel's voice muffled under the sudden ringing in his ears. He couldn't hear anything but the pounding of his heart. Couldn't see anything but Hawk.
Andrew's arms crossed over his chest before he even realized it. His eyes narrowed, trying to read Hawk's lips, to catch anything he was saying to her, but they were too far away to understand.
Hated how fast his throat had gone dry.
Then Hawk looked up.
Right at Andrew.
Andrew froze as Hawk's eyes locked onto his. For just a second, neither of them moved.
Hawk smirked and then turned back to the girl in front of him, but his focus wasn't on her anymore and Andrew's jaw clenched. He wanted to look away—he should've—but he couldn't. That stupid, aching part of him refused to.
He watched as the girl smirked up at Hawk and opened her mouth to speak before a happy yell cut her off.
"Piper!"
Andrew finally pulled his eyes away from the girl and toward Moon, who looked completely unaware of Hawk directly in front of Piper before she leaned in and kissed her.
It took everything in Andrew not to smirk at that. Knowing Hawks plan failed. With a happy buzz in his chest, Andrew turned back to Miguel and tuned back into their conversation.
Andrew didn't know it, but the second Moon kissed Piper, Hawks eyes tried to find Andrew's, a defeated and helpless look in his eyes. Hawk's heart sank watching the boy from across the room.
He was so engrossed in watching Andrew, he didn't even notice Moon turn his way to properly (and awkwardly) introduce him to her new girlfriend.
She turned to see who Andrew was looking at and smiled at Andrew on the other end of the living room. Moon whispered a quick, "be right back" to Piper before she practically skipped to Miguel and Andrew.
Feeling a light hand press onto his shoulder and a chin uncomfortably sit on top of it, Andrew turned his heads and smiled at Moon; cutting off their conversation.
"Hey, sorry. Can I steal him for a bit, Miguel?" Moon asked softly, pointing to the boy she was leaning on. Miguel smiled, a small chuckled passing his lips as he nodded. "Yeah, of course."
Before Andrew could protest himself, Moon was already dragging him across the living room, her grip tight so he couldn't and wouldn't break free. Andrew stumbled behind her, just barely missing a guy doing a handstand on the coffee table, a line of girls holding hands trying to get to the bathroom, and the tail end of a Taylor Swift song blasting around the room.
When Andrew noticed Moon was tugging him toward three people; Piper, Hawk, and the boy from earlier—the one from the cooler, Andrew was tempted to do anything he could to break free from MOon's grip and leave the party completely, but it was too late.
The party light hit the boys curls in a way that made them look almost silver at the edges. His hands were shoved deep into his hoodie pockets and his shoulders slouched just enough to seem uninterested, even though his eyes flickered up the second Andrew arrived.
Andrew barely had time to register the boy's stare before he felt Hawk's gaze hit him too—hot and immediate. Just like when he first entered the party.
When the two of them reached the three of them, Moon was practically beaming as she looked across the small huddle they were in and to the boy from earlier. "Siddiq, I'd like you to meet Andy." Moon hummed, one hand motioning to the boy with the hoodie, the other planted on Andrew's shoulder.
Andrew froze at those words. This was Siddiq. This was who Moon had been so adamant about him meeting.
The boy—Siddiq, apparently—straightened a little. He reached out his hand with a soft, almost lazy smile. "You can just call me Sid." His voice was lower than Andrew remembered. And Andrew froze for a second. He blinked up at the boy that was just a few inches taller than him before Andrew finally reached out and shook Siddiq's hand. Sid's hand was warm. His thumb brushed Andrew's as they let go. Maybe by accident. Maybe not.
"I hear you're thinking about doing theater." Sid said casually as he brought his hand up to point to the boy. His lips twitched into a smile and his eyebrows raised. "You planning to audition for the musical?"
Andrew opened his mouth to answer, but before the words could form, another voice cut in sharply.
"Wait—Andy, you're staying here?" Hawk blurted.
Everyone turned.
Andrew froze. Hawk looked more startled than anyone, like the question had slipped out before he could catch it. His expression shifted: first confusion, then regret, then that familiar flush that crept up the side of his neck and up to his ears. He clenched his jaw, then lowered his head and brought his hand up, like clockwork, to cover the scar on his lip.
Andrew's stomach twisted. Hawk's lips. His room. The kiss. The slammed window.
Moon cleared her throat, knocking Andrew out of his thoughts.
"Hawk, I think Aisha was looking for you outside. Let's go find her." She said with a forced cheery tone, already slipping an arm around Piper's. Moon turned to face her girlfriend, her eyebrows raised in a fake-interested manner. "Piper, do you want to come?"
Piper got the hint immediately and nodded frantically. "Oh, yeah. Totally. Let's go." Piper whispered and with that, Moon was moving.
"Eli, come on." She spat under her breath, already tugging Hawk away with her hand pressed to his back. As she shoved him away from Andrew and Siddiq, Moon completely ignored his protests, even as he looked over his shoulder back to the two boys.
But in the end, Hawk just let himself be pulled along, his eyes lingering on Andrew for one long second too many.
And when they were gone, Andrew turned back to Sid and realized he had never answered the boy's question. He sighed, shoving one hand into the front pockets of his jeans as the other waved around him tiredly. "I want to audition, but I couldn't find any info about it online."
Siddiq scoffed at those words. His eyes rolled and he threw his hand back tiredly. Andrew just watched him, an amused smile on his face and when Siddiq turned back to him, Andrew quickly hid his amusement behind his can of beer that he brought to his lips for a sip.
"Yeah, the school doesn't really promote it. They care for sports and shit more." Sid grumbled, like this was a fight he's had with the school for years, which based on the treatment of the theater department back at his school in Ohio, Andrew could bet money it was a fight Sid's had with the school for years.
"But we hold auditions on the first day, during first period in the auditorium." Siddiq said, bringing Andrew back into the conversation.
His eyes nearly dropped in size and his jaw dropped, mouth opening and closing in shock like he couldn't find the right words or couldn't speak entirely.
"But the first day is tomorrow." Andrew said and Sid chuckled at Andrew's nervousness. He nodded, completely ignoring the frantic look on Andrew's face. "Yeah, short notice, but I'm sure you can work something out." Siddiq tried to reassure, bringing a hand up to lightly hit Andrew's shoulder in encouragement.
"Just a song and monologue." Siddiq added and that calmed Andrew a little bit. He had both of those in his back pocket. Theater geek—he knows, but it's perfect for situations like this.
"Alright..." Andrew breathed out before he nodded, his shoulders easing a little as he tilted his head. "What show is it?"
"Little Shop of Horrors." Siddiq said and Andrew's face brightened. He could so do Little Shop of Horrors. And he definitely had a song and monologue to audition with. Andrew's smile was big as he looked up at Siddiq, nodding his head happily. "Okay then... I'll see you at auditions." Andrew gushed and hearing those words, Siddiq's smile softened.
"See you at auditions, Andrew." Siddiq said, his eyes lingering on the boy as he slowly stepped away from Andrew and back toward the kitchen. With one last look up and down and a casual lick of his lips, Siddiq turned and walked away, leaving Andrew stunned in the center of the living room.
And from across the room, Hawk sat at the couch, watching the entire interaction with his jaw clenched so tight, it was shocking that none of his teeth shattered.
Hawk lost Moon in the crowd the second they walked outside and without missing a beat, he came crawling back into the living room to see Andrew talking with Siddiq.
His hands were in fists on his lap and somehow, his can of beer hasn't crunched at the pressure. He was so focused on Andrew and Siddiq laughing and smiling with each other, he hardly noticed Demetri come and sit down next to him.
Demetri, as clueless as ever, thought Hawk was bummed that his friendship with Andrew had dwindled into nothing. He kept talking and talking about lost friendship that Hawk finally snapped.
Maybe it was because of Demetri's voice finally tipping him over the edge or maybe it was because Hawk kept getting reminded of the fact that Andrew was only ever his friend—will only ever be his friend and not anything more that finally made him snap.
Without being able to think about what he was doing and without having time to stop himself, Hawk stood up and poured what was left of his beer onto Demetri's head.
Which is how Andrew found Demetri about ten seconds later. He had completely missed Demetri and Hawk's interaction, but it didn't take a genius to know that it was a Cobra Kai that made Demetri head to toe covered in beer.
Andrew sighed, leaning down and grabbing Demetri's hands. While the boy muttered a string of confused words, Andrew ignored him and dragged Demetri to the bathroom.
He closed the door behind Demetri once he pulled him inside and figuring Moon wouldn't mind, Andrew opened one of the many high cabinets and grabbed a fresh towel. He turned back to Demetri and the Alexopoulos boy felt a warmth in his chest at the frown on Andrews face looking at him.
Demetri's hadn't had a friend who cared about him this much since Eli. Before Hawk.
He didn't move as Andrew helped him dry off. A tired, "You can't keep taking his shit, Dem. You've gotta put him in almost parental sigh left Andrew's lips as he helped Demetri. "You can't keep taking his shit, Met. You've gotta put him in his place."
...
About an hour had passed since Andrew helped Demetri clean the beer off of him. He hadn't seen the boy for the about thirty minutes after he stealthily slipped out of the conversation he, Andrew, and Chris were all having.
"Excuse me!" A voice echoed over the music. Andrew's eyebrows furrowed, immediately recognized the voice. So did Chris.
"What the hell..." Andrew muttered, turning around to face the stage and there he was, Demetri standing center stage with a microphone in one hand and solo cup in the other.
The entire room turned to face him and he just smiled at all the eyes on him. It was like he was possessed. Andrew's face scrunched. Since when did Demetri like eyes on him?
But then, Demetri spoke, his hand holding the cup raising into the air as if to cheers. "I'd like to make a toast. To Eli Moskowitz." He hummed happily and in the entire room, only three faces in the crowd dropped; Andrew's, Aisha's, and Hawk's.
As the crowd murmured in confusion, a dry laugh left Demetri's lips, making everyone turn back to him.
"What the hell is he doing?" Chris whispered, keeping his eyes glued onto Demetri while he leaned his head toward Andrew.
Andrew's eyes glancing to Hawk across the room before he turned back to look at Demetri. With a shrug and a raise of his eyebrows, Andrew sighed. "Putting Hawk in his place." He muttered, recalling his own words that he said to Demetri in the bathroom. Andrew made sure he was quiet enough for only Chris to hear and before Chris could question him, Demetri spoke again.
"I'm sorry. Some of you might know him as Hawk, but underneath all that crazy clown cosplay and whatever type of Manic Panic he dumps in his hair, he's still good old Eli. My binary brother." Demetri said with a sickly sweet voice and a smile on his face to match it.
Andrew, his arms crossed nervously over his chest, turned his head to look back at Hawk standing with the rest of Cobra Kai against the wall. His jaw was clenched and one hand was in a fist by his side while the other held tightly onto his beer, as if it was what kept him grounded.
"Well, he was my binary brother. You know what he is now? A real zero." Demetri spat out, holding his hand up to form a zero.
Fram behind him, Andrew heard a grumble of angry words and he pressed his lips together when Hawk yelled from behind him. "All right, that's enough, Demetri!" Hawk said, his voice loud enough to warn Demetri, but not start anything.
Demetri only laughed at Hawk's words, waving the boy off as if he had just told a joke. "Don't let that angry red hairdo fool you. He's a big softie. We watched every Harry Potter movie together and he bawled like a baby when Dobby died." Demetri said before he started to fake cry.
As laughter rang out throughout the living room, Andrew's eyebrows furrowed. He looked up at Chris, shaking his head. "Didn't like... everyone cry when Dobby died? I'm not even a big Harry Potter fan and I did." Andrew whispered, but Chris was able to hear him over the laughter because of their close proximity.
Chris just shrugged, muttering something quiet enough for Andrew to not hear. Demetri continued, throwing out secrets that weren't anything too mind-boggling out for the party to hear. Andrew frowned at a couple. He didn't think any of them were too bad, but if he were Hawk, he wouldn't want those secrets getting out any time soon either.
Andrew must've jinxed it.
"In the words of Eli's hero, Steve Jobs, 'I've got one more thing.'" Demetri hummed as the laughter from his latest secret spill started to die down.
His head dropped for just a second, almost as if part of his conscience was trying to stop him from spilling this last thing. Andrew and Hawk saw it. That hesitation. It was there for a split second before he lifted his head back up to the audience and smiled.
"Have any of you heard of sleep enuresis?"
Andrew's face scrunched as murmured confusion started to drift around the room. Andrew didn't know much about medical terminology, but as his eyes moved back to the other end of the room where Hawk and the other Cobra Kai's were, he could tell it wasn't something that should be shared like this.
Hawk, who had been glaring daggers into Demetri since the second he stepped onto the stage, now looked completely unrecognizable. His jaw was dropped, his shoulders were slumped, his chest was heaving up and down and an anxiously fast pace and his angry eyes had softened, and Andrew could've sworn they were starting to get glossier by the second.
"Don't." Hawk said–begged just loud enough for Andrew to hear.
Andrew wasn't sure if Demetri heard his plea and ignored it or hadn't heard it all because he only smiled to the audience, too cheery for anyones good and let out a happy sigh. "That is the medical term, of course. In the King's English, it's good old-fashioned bed-wetting and Eli here is a pro."
As the laughter in the room started to get louder and louder, Andrew felt his breath hitch. "Oh my God..." He whispered under his breath.
"My mom even had a special air mattress for sleepovers. And she called it... 'Eli's waterbed.'" Demetri continued as Andrew's stomach started to churn in worry. He didn't care that Hawk had sleep enuresis, but he did care about Demetri's safety and Andrew knew that Demetri telling the entire room that information definitely put his safety at risk.
Andrew turned to look up at Chris, his eyes wide and his hands shaking a little. "We have to get Demetri out of here." Andrew breathed out and Chris only squinted at Andrew, shaking his head. "Why?" Chris asked when suddenly—
"You're a corpse!" Hawk screamed, his voice echoing over the laughter and immediately silencing it.
Chris and Andrew's heads snapped to the sound of Hawk's scream and Andrew let out a shaky breath watching him and the rest of Cobra Kai stomp toward Demetri and the stage.
"That." Andrew whispered.
As the Cobra Kai's got closer and closer to the stage, Chris was quick to step into the middle and block them from getting to Demetri.
When Chris accidentally bumped into Andrew in the process and unknowingly forced him to become a blockade too, Andrew felt the air in his lungs shutter.
"Back up." Chris warned, practically chest to chest with Mitch. Chris was taller than him by a long shot, but Mitch if that intimidated Mitch, he didn't let it show.
And Andrew was stuck right in front of Hawk. The red haired boy wouldn't look at Andrew, his eyes glued on Demetri behind him, but that just made it easier for Andrew. He didn't want to speak with Hawk, or look at how, or think about the way his chest and stomach feel when their eyes lock.
So he turned to Mitch and shook his head. "If you want him, you're gonna have to go through us." Andrew warned, and honestly, Andrew was grateful that Hawk wasn't looking at him because if Andrew had to say that to Hawk, his voice wouldn't have sounded so threatening.
Mitch's jaw clenched at Chris and Andrew—his old friends—standing across from him defending Demetri of all people. His lips curled in anger and he raised his hand. "Stay out of this, traitors!"
One of his palms connected with Andrew's shoulder and he shoved him back. The yells from Nate and Chris brought Hawks eyes back to the Miyagi-Do's in front of him and not Demetri on the stage. His eyes widened as Andrew stumbled, tripping over his own feet and almost falling back onto the stage but a sudden hand grasped his shoulder and stepped in front of him.
Hawk felt anger burn in his stomach and up his throat when his eyes met Robby's.
"Don't touch him!" Robby warned under his breath, glaring at Hawk even though it was Mitch that shoved Andrew.
Robby didn't see what happened. All he saw was Andrew falling and Hawk standing right in front of him.
Hawk glared right back at Robby at both the fact that Robby would insinuate that he shoved Andrew and that Robby was the one to catch him.
Before he could get a word out, someone stepped in between the two karate teams and even though nobody turned to see who it was, they all stepped away from each other knowing it was Moon.
"Guys, stop. We're friends." The girl said softly, looking between mainly Hawk and Andrew as she tried to reason with the two teams. Andrew looked to Moon and took a step back, closer to the stage since he couldn't add onto the brawl about to break out with Robby in front of him.
"Oh, I smell a rumble!" Andrew thinks his name was Raymond yelled. Andrew was more confused on why the man was there with a date more than he was worried about a "rumble" actually going down.
Before somebody could make the first move—and it looked like Cobra Kai could be that somebody—a loud police siren started to blare throughout the home, red and blue lights flashing across the walls from through the windows.
Andrew's eyes widened and his heart sank. He's never gone to a party where the cops were called and he's sure as hell never been arrested. He could hear someone scream, "cops!" before everyone started running around as if the house were on fire.
While everyone started to run out of the house as fast as possible, Andrew turned to Demetri, who still stood on stage. All the confidence he had in the past five minutes was gone. He held onto the microphone so tight, his knuckles were white.
"Demetri, you got lucky. I'll see you in school!" Hawk yelled, Robby and Chris holding him back from attacking Demetri right then and there. Mitch and Big Red pulled Hawk away and towards the exit of Moon's home.
Andrew finally got ahold of Demetri's wrist and pulled him down off the stage. "We've gotta go." Andrew whispered to him as another body joined the two.
Demetri and Andrew frantically turned and saw a panicked Robby.
"I'll get Sam." Robby breathed out, making Andrew realize Sam wasn't in the living room with the rest of the team. With shaky breath, Andrew nodded and turned back to Robby. "I'll start the car." He whispered back and Robby nodded, running out of the living room and into the kitchen.
Once he was gone, Andrew turned to the rest of the Miyagi-Do's, but the only people that were left were Chris, Nate, and Little Red. "You guys get out. Text us when you get home." Andrew said since Chris had been the one to drive the two younger boys.
All three of them nodded before running out of the house and once he got a tight grip on Demetri's wrist, Andrew started to tug him toward the front yard.
It was a struggle to push through all of the rushing bodies, but as soon as Andrew got to his car, he pushed Demetri into the passenger seat and ran around the outside of the car before clamoring into the drivers seat.
The shutting of his car door muffled the sirens and panicked yelled of kids leaving. His eyes shut and he sighed as he fell back into his seat.
The noise made Demetri turn his head, ruffling his hair a little in the process since he was leaning back in his seat too. He watched Andrew for a few seconds before he slowly started to smile, a breathy and tired laugh leaving his lips.
"Good first Valley party?" He teased and when Andrew snickered, Demetri's smile doubled in size.
Demetri could see Andrew's eyes roll even with his eyes closed. He turned his head to look at Demetri, nodding his head as a smile grew on his face. "Yeah. Definitely for the books." He muttered back, the relaxation in his voice making Demetri's smile soften.
The moment died out when the back doors to Andrew's car opened and the sirens became clearer again. Demetri turned back to face front as Andrew looked into the back seat, watching as Sam and Robby climb into his car.
"Okay, I'll drop you guys off, then Demetri." Andrew said, his hands moving to the ignition to start the car and as the engine started to rumble, Sam sprang up, her eyes wide as if she were completely sober.
"No! My dad will kill me if he sees me like this!" She yelled and Andrew just shook his head. He just wanted to get the fuck away from Moons house before cops started coming toward his car. He turned back to face front and shrugged as he started to drive.
"Okay, then you can stay with me." He said simply, getting about three feet away from where he had originally parked before Sam appeared between the two front seats, shaking her head desperately.
"Your dad will tell my dad!" Sam cried and Andrew sighed, braking and putting the car in park tiredly. He fell back into his seat in defeat. Sam was right. The second Steven would see Sam drunk in his house, he'd call up Daniel before Andrew could even go and try to explain.
At the same time, Andrew, Sam, and Robby all turned to Demetri in the passenger seat, who cluelessly looked at the ground as he tried to think of a solution.
Feeling eyes on him, Demetri slowly looked up. His eyes practically doubled in size as he stared at the three of them all giving him expecting looks. With a scoff, Demetri rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Like my mom would ever let a girl spend the night." He grumbled.
"We can go to my dad's house!" Robby blurted, making everyone turn to him.
Andrew cringed to himself at the idea. He knew that Robby's dad was Sensei Lawrence—Daniel's nemesis of far too long for Andrew to remember. But it was also there best bet at getting Sam in little to no trouble. As long as she texted Amanda and Daniel saying she slept over at Moons, neither of them would question any of it.
With a sigh, Andrew readjusted in his seat and took his phone of the stand, handing it to Robby.
"Can you type in the address?"
