Andrew Murphy adored nothing more than getting to visit his Aunt Amanda and her family every summer. Well, Amanda was is first cousin once removed, but he hated doing all the math so he's always just called her his Aunt Amanda.

Don't get him wrong, he loved his mom and dad and he missed them like crazy every time he visited his aunt and uncle, but he hated living in Ohio.

He was constantly bullied at his school for his sexuality. Who the hell cared about if someone was gay or not? It's 2018!

His mom, Jessica used to tell him to fight for himself, that his Uncle Daniel knows karate and could teach him while he visited in summer, but everything his Uncle Daniel taught him was defense and that was Andrew's one problem. No one ever physically hurt him; it was all verbally. If Andrew wanted to learn karate, he wanted to learn to fight them and make them stop saying anything at all.

Andrew always agreed with his dad, who told him that if he couldn't fight, just ignore them and that anyone who makes fun of him because of who he likes, is an idiot.

Andrew's parents got married three years before Andrew was born. He took his dads last name and was named "Andrew" in honor of his moms maiden name, Andrews.

They used to all live Los Angeles. Andrew was halfway through the second grade when his parents decided to move to Ohio for his mom's promotion for work. And with that, Andrews entire life was uprooted and he had to leave the only place he called home. He didn't have many friends outside of Sam, just his table partner at the time that let him borrow his comics, but if you asked Andrew what the boys name was now, he couldn't tell you. He knew it started with a "D" but that was it. Maybe Damian or Devin. He couldn't remember.

After that, Andrew and his parents would come back to LA and visit every summer. The three of them would stay at the LaRusso home, and since there was only one spare room and his parents took it, Andrew would hop back and forth between Sam and Anthony's rooms every night.

When he turned ten, Andrew's parents divorced and the summer trips turned into just him and his mom going. By the time he was thirteen, Andrew would fly to California alone and Amanda would pick him up at Burbank Airport.

In his entire life, Andrew had only missed a summer trip once, deciding to go to musical theater camp last year when he was 15.

Now, Andrew was sixteen and as always, he was heading to Los Angeles for the summer only now, his Uncle Daniel was starting to get himself stuck in a karate war and somehow, Andrew gets dragged into it too.
