!WARNING! This poem contains mentions of suicide and negative emotions, and it is also based on true events that happened recently 

For this exercise, we were lectured by a guest speaker called Fran Lock, and to take inspiration from her work we were told to write a political poem. Now I'm not into politics and I don't like talking about it, but I tried to understand what is happening in the world and I still don't understand it (literally and figurativelly like "why does this president threaten so much he's into so much trouble" etc.) 

I tried my best to write a poem about politics (which was VERY difficult for me because I don't normally write political stuff so) and instead of focusing on global politics, I chose a local one from my country. And sadly it talks about how some powerful people have the audacity to take religion and use it as an excuse to control people. And when they do they change the rules which is highly UNACCEPTABLE by the law of religion itself. 

As I mentioned, recently a Kuwaiti woman, who was a student at Kuwait University, committed suicide. What did the staff/responsible people of this institution do? Just read the poem

Deaths are rising, but they're not caused by murderers or accidents 

It's the system, it's the government, the government steered by religion with false truths 

A poor woman stood on the high concrete, broke all her bones with one jump just so she can leave 

Oh dear, that is horrible, that is sensitive to the public, and what did the authorities do? To stop those deaths, they brought religious threats 

"If you leave this earth, you'll rot in hell!" 

Oh my! What a solution! Provide more pressure! Cause more stress! And bring more tragedies now that more people left!

So much for a government that prioritizes its people's safety! Only to lead its people to their depressing doom! 

You could've stopped those deaths by few simple words of true religion 

"إن مع العسر يسرا" 

With these words, you could've saved humanity

Here is a friendly reminder, if you ever feel like darkness is taking over you, that the entire world seems to be against you or that they're careless about you, please reach out! There is no shame in that! It's not a burden to ask for help! For there ARE people who DO care about you truly! And to remember, that it might be a difficult time for you now, but you'll make it through! And when you do, ease and joy will come at some point in your life.

And if you notice that someone isn't fine, please offer your help! Even a hug alone can assure this person that they're loved and cared! Even if you don't know what to do or how to do it, call the professionals so they can offer proper help.
