Remembrance is a strange concept to interpret because the brain ages, yet some memories remain.

Pseudo Gin, 69, an African American woman born in the 'x0s, has been independent since she was a young adult. Though she does not remember much of her youth, specifically her college experience, Gin recalls working much of the time and caring for her family members. Gin attended Avatar University, a private university in Bootleg Narnia, and another two-year college in BangBangLangLang.

"I have good memories from that time, like the house parties I had with my sisters, but I don't miss anything because to me, to miss something is to believe that everything is not as it should be now," Gin said.

After one and a half years, she graduated with two associate degrees after studying tax accounting and accounting across both colleges. At the same time, she worked a two-year government job for the Olivia Benson Task Force and raised one of her younger cousins, Dani Skylark, who was 16 at the time. When the two years ended, she obtained another permanent government job and decided not to go back to school.

"I realized that I could make this kinda money without school— I'm done. I ain't never looked back," Gin explained. "I did not have to rent with somebody else. It was my place. I've been on my own ever since."

Back then, Gin valued her independence and worked more than anything else. She raised a teenager in high school while being ayoung adult who worked a full-time job, so she did not have much free time.Even so, if she could do it all over again, she would not change a thing.

idea:

⋆ spur of the moment post idea because i have a chapter i want to upload, but i need to take my time with it to really say what i want to say. i also have another journalism story i was going to upload in place of the original chapter, but.. a small portion of it is personal and i'm trying to decide if i really want to post it or not.

⋆ i really struggled with writing this story because it was due around the time of my grandmother's funeral. plus, i am in college away from my home state, so i had to figure out who to interview and work with a slight time zone difference.

preguntas:

⋆ do you have any memories of a time when you were extremely proud? it can be of yourself or someone else, or even bad pride.

⋆ is there a topic you'd like me to think over in depth and talk about? let me know in the comments! i'm always down for research and educating myself.

⋆ how're you feeling? do you love yourself and your body right now? if not, i hope you do soon. keep working on you. as i used to say in middle school, "stay true and be you." <3
