My review for the book Cocytus

Thanks to empiresofwater for letting me review your book, I honestly enjoyed the book a lot

✧ Title: The title is a little creepy which is great as it matches the vibe of the story very well. Fun fact for people who didn’t know this, ‘Cocytys’ means the river of wailing in the underworld in Greek mythology and I absolutely love Greek mythology a lot.

✧ Cover: The cover gave me a vibe of the old times. It just fits perfectly with the content of the story which is why I like it a lot.

✧ Blurb: The blurb is great too. You gave the right amount of information and left the readers wanting more. I loved how you managed to make it sound a little creepy and at the same time mysterious as well, you managed to balance both perfectly.

✧ Storyline: It's a historical horror set in Antarctica. Captain Danby seems to be hiding a secret from all the crew members. From the chapters, it seems like there is a cloak and has some sort of connection with a girl named Maria who is someone close to Danby probably his girlfriend or perhaps his wife?

✧ Characters: You described the characters well. You wrote them in a great way by describing all the small things. They felt so real and I got chills from the way you described the cloak and a thing I was wondering was whether he’s dead or alive?

✧ Grammar: So far there are no grammatical or spelling mistakes so that’s good.

✧ Overall thoughts: I’m not that big a fan of books that are related to history but I actually liked reading your book. Your writing is worldly which I liked a lot too.
