I was really happy to review this book, so thank you RavingBlack for asking me to read your book.

Cover:
I like that you chose yellow and purple as they are complementary colours, I also really like that on the cover it shows what Will and Jay’s interests are and how different they are to each other, however I could easily read and it’s easy to the eyes what was said on the purple tag on the cover, however I had a hard time reading and it kinda hurt my eyes to look at what was said on the yellow one, it might just be me having bad eyesight, but I think you should maybe change it, other than that this is a good cover.

Description:
It’s a good description, you get the point across, yet I can’t help feeling like you could use another word besides “inexplicably” for example in your sentence you could use the word “unexplainably” or “unfathomably”, and that your sentence could be better for example your sentence could become “unexplainably intrigued by the mysterious and antisocial loner, and then being inexplicably tied to him through increasingly tangling turns of events”. I feel that it makes more sense, other than that, you’ve done a good job on leaving little sneak peeks into the storyline.

Storyline:
You instantly caught my attention with that first sentence “There’s someone that needs help”. The story starts as a flashback of how will and Jay first met, it was at night time and Jay was cycling and he narrowly avoided Will but still ended up hurting his ankle, Will rushes inside his home to get a first aid kit but by the time her got back inside, Jay was gone, four years later will needs help with his English essay and asks his teacher Mr Hendricks for help who then refers him to Mr Ly who is Jay btw, he critiques his work very thoroughly and gives him notes he should improve on which results in Will getting a 84% and then asking Jay for more help, which he then eventually agrees to when will exchanges him a deal of Will becoming  Jay’s maths tutor whilst Jay would help Will edit his English work, and that’s just the beginning of their story together. I thought this would’ve just been another typical high school love story, but I was wrong, it was much more better than that.

Characters:
Jay is a very moody person who’s pretty much almost always angry but the reason why I do not know, however he is very smart as well seeing as he is top his English class, which makes him quite the reviewer and he’s not only academically smart he’s also good at fixing stuff, like when he fixed the printer just by using a coin to open the panel of it and then wrestling with some of the plastic components to bring it back to life. Will, is a very persistent guy, he would never give up on asking Jay to help tutor him, and I think that he’s also a very nice guy, seeing as he felt bad about Jay getting hurt and then wanting to help him, these 2 are quite different people in terms of personality, but yet they still work together.

Grammar/Spelling:
Reading through the chapters, I couldn’t find any mistakes at all, I love how you go all out with your descriptions, you’ve got the right balance of not making it too brief and not making it too long resulting in the reader getting tired of reading, good job, well done!

Engagement of the reader:
Although I haven’t read the whole book, I’m intrigued in wanting to know what happens next, there was never a dull moment, you always kept the reader’s attention, you did great!
