AFTER BEING ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER, Eleanor awaits trial and is provided with a lawyer who advises her to plead insanity. That's how she finds herself in a small, white cell staring into the most mesmerizing eyes she has ever seen, sitting across the psychiatrist of Arkham Asylum, Dr. Jonathan Crane.

As soon as Jonathan lays eyes upon her, he knows she's different from every other client he had to deal with. She refuses to plead insanity, being somehow aware of what the doctor does to his patients in the Asylum, and refusing to be just another one of Scarecrow's victims.

Her refusal tests the doctor's patience, and so he puts on his mask. But when he does and the fear toxin spreads around them, Eleanor doesn't react. She stares at him like it's nothing. Like she doesn't have any fears.

Only slightly infuriated, but completely intrigued, Jonathan's interest in her increases. How is she able to be immune to his toxin? Why wasn't she affected?

Unable to make sense of her, Jonathan has no other option but to let her go as she undergoes trial and is put in Gotham State Penitentiary, where a serious of unfortunate events lead Eleanor back to him and to the Asylum.

She's not insane, and he knows it. But there's something about her that doesn't feel right and this time Jonathan is determined to find out.

What he doesn't know is that Eleanor is not immune to his fear toxin; she simply learned how to cope with it. After all, what she saw in his mask is what she sees in the mirror every day.

Because her biggest fear is herself. Or better said, the monster that's trapped in it.

And Dr. Crane, of course, won't rest until it's out.
