Desire to start a business
That night, when they returned to their rented room, Bon and Robin sat looking at each other, still unable to forget the moment when James offered to buy their website.
"What do you think?" Bon asked Robin.
"I don't know..." Robin replied.
"And you? What about you, Bon?"
"I... I don't know either."
The two fell silent again. After a while, Robin asked Bon:
"Do you want to sell it? You created this, after all."
Bon remained silent for a moment, deep in thought, then finally spoke:
"Do we really have to sell it, Robin? I... I still feel like there's something I would regret!"
Robin was also silent for a long time before suddenly saying something that surprised Bon:
"I think if it were me, I wouldn't sell it."
"Why??? I thought you were the one who wanted to sell the most?"
"Ever since we met him, all I've been thinking about is selling—how to get the best price. But I forgot that this has limitless potential. If we keep developing it, it will definitely be worth much more. I don't believe that's its final price."
"Do you really think so?" Bon asked.
"Let's turn it into something so valuable that not just anyone can buy it!"
"Robin..."
"Bon..."
Saying that, the two looked at each other, then hugged tightly, patting each other's backs.
That night, Bon called James back to reject his offer. It seemed that James was quite shocked, as he remained silent for a long time before asking:
"Are you sure? Have you thought it through?"
"Of course, I've thought it through. I believe our website will be worth much more in the future." Bon replied firmly.
"If that's your decision... then I have nothing more to say. The product truly has great potential. If you ever change your mind or need any help, don't hesitate to call me. I'd be happy to assist if I can."
Hearing that, Bon thanked James repeatedly, while Robin added:
"We're really lucky. Thanks to him, we now understand how valuable our website, BB, really is."
"He seems like a good guy. When I refused to sell, his attitude didn't change much at all."
Both Robin and Bon felt grateful to James because he gave them confidence in what they had created. They started dreaming of making their product accessible to everyone, regardless of age or location.
Bon and Robin began searching for investors. They frequently attended business seminars to introduce their product.
However, not everyone was like James, able to see its potential. Many businesspeople didn't even bother listening to their pitch. Robin and Bon hadn't expected their confidence to be shattered like this. Maybe they had overestimated their website all along.
Despite being busy developing the website, Robin never missed a single class. Through his classmates, he heard about an entrepreneurship conference organized by the school.
At this conference, students passionate about startups could present their projects to major investors. If successful, their product could launch nationwide or even internationally—an opportunity of a lifetime.
Of course, Robin wouldn't miss such a valuable chance. He rushed back to tell Bon. This time, they were determined to impress the investors and bring their product to the world.
So, Robin and Bon started preparing their presentation for the conference.
After much anticipation, the big day finally arrived. Robin and Bon dressed their best, wearing freshly rented suits for the occasion.
Upon arrival, they felt like two country boys in the big city. Despite their efforts to look polished, they couldn't match the aura of the other attendees—everyone radiated wealth and intelligence.
Robin and Bon found themselves lost in a sea of people, unnoticed by anyone. Even the staff in charge of the presentation screen barely acknowledged them, as if they were certain their product would never catch an investor's eye.
Their plain, unimpressive appearance caught the attention of one person—James.
He walked up and gave them a hard pat on the back, exclaiming:
"Robin! Bon! I knew you two would come!"
"You... you... James?" Robin and Bon stammered in unison.
"You're looking for investors, huh? Seems like you're serious about this now!"
"Uh... yeah..." They felt a bit awkward, afraid James might still be upset about their previous rejection.
But he didn't seem to mind at all. He was just as friendly and cheerful as ever.
"I talked to several investors about your product, but since I couldn't buy it, I was really disappointed..."
For a brief moment, Bon and Robin exchanged glances, thinking to themselves:
"Why didn't we just sell it to him back then? It would have saved us all this trouble!"
"But you know what... some of those investors are actually very interested in your product. Would you like to meet them?"
Robin and Bon's eyes lit up instantly. Of course, they couldn't pass up this opportunity! Robin nodded eagerly and replied:
"Yes... absolutely! Please, take us to meet them!"
"Alright! Follow me. You guys better make a great impression!"
With that, James led them to a standing table where five older businessmen were gathered, their expressions cold and serious.
Robin looked at these men and thought to himself:
"These are the ones... the ones who the top of the game? They look so different."
