We met in a past life
Of course, with his wealth and power, Robin immediately helped her move out of that house to a new luxury apartment with a highly secure security system. Here, she would no longer be disturbed by that bastard.
Robin secretly bought the apartment and rented it to her at a ridiculously low price. Naturally, she had no idea, as someone else was pretending to be the landlord. Sapphire was, of course, a bit suspicious when she arrived and heard the unrealistically low price.
"Why... why is this apartment so cheap for rent?"
The impersonator was well-prepared for situations like this and quickly responded:
"It may look nice, but it's actually an old unit, and it hasn't been rented out for a long time. Also, compared to other units, the layout isn't that great, so I'm offering it at a low price."
Sapphire didn't know much about interior design, and since the man said so, she chose to believe him. Meanwhile, Robin kept urging her to rent it quickly before someone else took it.
The housing situation was settled, and all that was left was moving in. However, there was one thing that Sapphire kept hesitating about—her restaurant, the place she had worked so hard to build. Even though it was just a small eatery, she truly loved it after all these years.
Having been in business for so long, Robin had, of course, anticipated this. He had even arranged for a new location in a bustling area near her apartment so she could continue her work. When he took Sapphire to see the new place, she was shocked that he had gone to such great lengths.
Robin told her:
"I rented this space under my name. The restaurant just needs a sign installed, and we only need to move the tables and chairs. The only concern is that your regular customers might not follow you to the new location."
Sapphire stared at him in deep thought.
"Regular customers... that's fine... tomorrow, I'll open the restaurant one last time and tell them the new address... but... there's one thing... why... are you helping me... so much?"
Robin patted her on the shoulder.
"Because... you once helped me."
"Me? I helped you? You must be mistaken. I really didn't know you before we met at the casino that day..."
"Just pretend that never happened... that was my mistake... but we didn't just meet in this lifetime—we met in a past life too."
"A past life? You... you're talking like this is some kind of joke."
Robin calmly sat down on the sofa that had already been placed there and replied:
"I know you won't believe me... and that's okay... it's normal. You just need to know that it's true."
He smiled lightly at Sapphire's confused expression. No one could ever understand the things he had been through.
Sapphire eventually moved into her new home, and her new restaurant soon opened with Robin's help. She never expected that both her old and new customers would support her. The busy days helped her forget the unhappy memories of the past.
Robin also took the opportunity to grow closer to her. Not only did he visit the restaurant for lunch frequently, but he also started picking her up and taking her home every day.
Just when everything seemed to be settling down, Sapphire's terrible husband reappeared. Somehow, he had managed to track her down. He was still as violent and aggressive as ever, attempting to storm into the restaurant to cause trouble. However, Robin had already predicted this, so he had hired two security guards for Sapphire's restaurant. H was stopped at the entrance and began shouting furiously.
"You think you can run away from me by coming here? Dream on! You'll regret leaving me! You'll come crawling back to me soon enough!"
This time, Sapphire ignored his shouting. He raged until he was exhausted and eventually left on his own.
Even now, Robin still didn't understand why Sapphire let him keep causing trouble instead of taking legal action and divorcing him once and for all.
But no matter what, he would never let that man disturb Sapphire's life again. This time, Robin would make sure he left her alone forever.
A few weeks ago, the recruitment team from Robin's company contacted the man and informed him that he had been hired and would start work next week. The goal of this was for Robin to have complete control over him.
Sapphire had left him. He no longer had someone to cook for him, no money for gambling, and no way to pay for his living expenses. Naturally, with such a tempting job offer, Harry took the bait without hesitation.
