FAQ's
In this part, I just complied up some questions that I get asked frequently in my private messages! Don't worry, this part can be skipped, but there could be some questions might have and could be answered here. If you prefer to go into the book completely surprised, I suggest you skip this part. No worries, there are no spoilers. It's all about which reading experience you prefer, this is for the people in my private messages and others who might have the same questions. Without further ado...let's get on with this!
Does this book have anything to do with marriage?
I understand that the book title is a common phrase said during a marriage ceremony, but it does not have anything to do with marriage. Apologies to all the people that thought this was an enemies to lovers, fake marriage story lol.
Does this book have any diversity?
The short answer to this question is yes. This book does have diverse characters, as a WOC I understand how important representation is. Therefore, when writing this book I kept that in mind. There will also be representation other than race.
Any important trigger warnings I should know about?
Being that this is a book about assassins, this book will have mentions of blood and fight scenes. I will try to refrain from going too in detail, but if I need a scene to have a certain impact then there could be a few details. There will be mentions of certain things such as abuse, murder, PTSD, and potential sexual assault. I say potential because there is a character in mind that I want to write about in future chapters. If I ever decide to write this character in then sexual assault will NOT be in detail, it will only be mentioned.
Why aren't you putting character aesthetics or character inspirations?
There are two reasons for this. 1) I chose to not do that because as a reader myself I HATE having the scroll through multiple pages just to get to the first chapter. It's a personal pet peeve of mine. This is why I only plan to have these two chapters before, the official first chapter. I don't want to overdo it, I also know that when multiple chapters are before the official one it can kill the vibe. It makes you not even want to read anymore, at least for me personally. 2) The second reason is that I don't want readers to have a set image of what the characters are supposed to look like. Have you ever been given a face claim of the male lead and you just didn't find them attractive? I have definitely had that experience. I can't get the image out of my head so that's how I imagine the male lead to look like. I can't fall in love with the male lead because I don't find the male lead attractive. Yes, there will be a character description, but there will NOT be a definite image of what the character looks like.
As you can see, I'm basing some of the decisions of my story from a reader's perspective as well. Of course, not everyone is going to feel the same and some people struggle with their imagination so they prefer a face claim. If you have a hard time imagining things despite being given character descriptions or you are just someone that wants to get the image right in your head then I would suggest that you private message me. I will happily send you my character inspirations. Despite the fact that I'm choosing to not put those things in my story, I do have them locked away in a folder, that I refer to when I'm describing them. If you need me to send you a link or two then I will.
Is there any romance in this book?
I don't know... you'll have to read to find out. But, if I were EVER to make a romance then it would be a slow burn. Do what you will with that information.
How many chapters do you plan to publish?
More than 20, less than 50. It all depends on how I decide to pace my story. I do not plan on going up to 100 chapters. If that's the case...then most likely something went wrong.
Do you plan on making this a series?
Depends. Honestly, I've been thinking about it, but I would like to see how this story goes before I start planning for the future.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Pinterest has been my best friend.
What is your goal with this book?
To look back on this in the future, and not cringe. That's my goal, let's just hope I'm successful.
What is your upload schedule?
Usually, it's once a week, sometimes even twice a week. Maybe even thrice a week...I'll stop. In all seriousness, the amount of times I upload depends on my mood. If I'm feeling very creative then I'll continue to publish more than one chapter that week. I don't have a specific time when I upload, it's just any day during the week. Most of the time it's during the weekends because that's when I have the most time, however that isn't always the case.
What writing software do you use?
I use Google Docs, Prowriting Aid, and sometimes even Dabble to plan out my plot, structure, character personalities, and many other things.
What keeps you motivated?
The readers. There have been many times when I thought about dropping my story, even though I'm only in the beginning stages. There have been times where I didn't know what direction I wanted my story to go in...and to the people that were here in the beginning then you guys know how rough that time was. My writing was just sloppy and horrible, but then I decided that I wanted to take things seriously. I started planning my story, watching multiple Youtube videos on writing tips, and asking people for constructive criticism. I wouldn't say that my writing is the best or where I would like it to be, but I have definitely improved. Knowing that I have people waiting to read my story every week, makes me not want to disappoint.
How do you draft your story?
Uh....next question. Okay, so I know it's bad that I don't draft my story, which now that I think about it that's probably why I'm always making changes to it. And...I don't have an answer to this question so we're just going to move on to the next, shall we?
How did you come up with your story?
I've been a reader on Wattpad for about 3 years now. I do have a main account, this is just my writing account. There have been times where I've been reading Wattpad books and always wanted to learn more. Have you ever read a mafia book and wanted to know more about the mafia world? Or, have you ever wanted to see more action scenes? Have you ever wanted to know more about the world instead of the main focus being a romance? I wanted to write a story where those questions could be answered and readers could be satisfied with the result. I wanted to create a story, that I also enjoyed and would personally read. Where you can learn more about the world, society, characters, and so much more. There have been so many times where I wanted a certain scene in the book to happen, or I wanted to learn more about the world rather than just given romance. I wanted a good balance, therefore I decided to create a story where you can get action, world-building, character development, backstory, plot twist, humorous characters that have so much more to them than just humor, amongst other things.
This isn't a mafia story btw.
If your main account has more followers, why don't you post there?
Long story short, I'm a little bitch when it comes to things I love and then it just gets trashed. This is a project that I'm willing to put my heart into, and I'm going to be honest and say that I'm nervous about posting my story for all those people to see. Your right, I could post there and get more reads, but if I was hit with overwhelming negativity it would probably stop me from posting. My main account is so much more personal, those people already know a little about my life. As of right now, I'm happy with my small community. There are fewer eyes on me and I don't stress too much about negativity or hate. I'm comfortable where I'm at for right now, but one day I want to get to a place where I can post this story on my main account.
And....That's it for the FAQ's. When I get asked more questions they will definitely be added here for future references.
