Chapter 3

5 Months Before

"Okay, here's the plan." Tim said, sketching out a map onto a piece of paper.

He's standing over a tall, wooden table, a single candle illuminating the bleak cabin he's in. Across from him, Cass is sharpening her Batarangs, nodding at him to continue.

"We can't take Damian from his home, the only home he's ever known, without first gaining his trust. That's one of the things that went wrong the first time, and we can't make that mistake here too."

Cass nodded in agreement.

"Okay, so how do we do that? We already know we'll have to infiltrate the League to get to him, and we can't let Ra's suspect anything. We might be able to convince Talia to help us, but the chances of that happening are close to nonexistent. So how do we earn Damian's trust enough to get him out of the League?"

"Might I suggest something?" Babs said into their comms.

"Yes?" Cass answered, jumping up and coming over to stand by her brother to survey the map he'd drawn.

"You said Damian is 5, right?"

Tim nodded, before speaking up, remembering that Barbara couldn't see him. "Yeah. According to the League's data."

"Okay, well, they'll be training him with different teachers now. You and Cass could become one of his trainers."

Cass smiled, nodding, whilst Tim's jaw dropped open. "You're a genius, Babs!"

Barbara's snort could be heard over the device. "You sound surprised."

4 Months Before

"You'll need to build a reputation first. Make them curious."

Ra's narrowed his eyes as he listened to his assassin's report. They flashed green when the man finished, and with a wave of his hand, the man left. He'd be punished for his failure later.

Turning, Ra's observed the film's once more, searching for just what went wrong with the mission.

And then he spotted it.

Pausing the video, he enhanced the footage to see the light reflected off a knife held by a shadow.

"Amir," he hissed, hands tightening on the edges of his throne.

"Yes, master?" his servant asserted, bowing.

"Send in a group of 25 assassins. I have a mission for them."

"Right away, master." Amir answered, scurrying to follow his orders.

3 Months Before

"When you have his attention, chances are he'll send in his assassins to try to get rid of you."

Ghost and Predator stood over a group of unconscious ninja, no signs of being out of breath. Using his Bo staff, Predator wrote their message in the blood of Ra's fighters.

Nice try, old man.

With that, the two turned and left, leaving no trace of their time there other than their fallen foes.

2 Months Before

"More assassins will come. The more you defeat, the angrier Ra's gets."

Predator sighed as he knocked out another assassin, rolling his eyes. "This is the best Ra's can do? Pathetic."

Ghost giggled, jumping over two more and sweeping their legs out from under them.

Tying up the men and women sent after them, Predator sighed once more.

"Seriously. I'd like a challenge please."

1 Month Before

"Soon enough, Ra's will get desperate. He'll hire other people to try and take you out."

"Sorry, Ra's. I won't help you." Deathstroke said. "I've already been payed much more than what you've offered to not go after them."

Ra's growled, his green eyes glowing even brighter.

"Who even are these two anyway?" Slade asked with a snort. "Gotta be angry you don't know right."

Present

"Until finally, finally, Ra's will have no choice but to call off his players. He'll want to meet you instead. Come to an understanding."

"They're not here. Where are they?" Ra's hissed, pacing in his throne room.

Amir stood off to the side, flinching as Ra's punched the wall.

"Wow, Ra's. Didn't know you had anger issues." a male voice suddenly said, making every assassin present draw their weapons.

Two figures stepped out of the shadows.

"Now, is that really a way to greet the people you invited here?" Predator asked, raising an eyebrow and glancing around the room.

"Rude." Ghost nodded, shaking her head in disappointment.

"So." Predator said, leaning on his Bo staff. "Are you ready to hear your terms?"

...

Is this chapter short? Yes.
Is it probably confusing? Maybe.
Do I care? Not one bit. The reason I'm writing it this way is because I think it'll make the story more interesting to read. I hope you liked this chapter. Don't forget to comment!!
