"Avengers, time to work for a living."

The Avengers pile up into the church one by one. Tony lands first, followed by Pietro, Steve, Clint and Wanda.

" You good?", Pietro asks his sister.

" Yeah", Wanda responds.

" Romanoff. You and Banner better not be playing hide the zucchini", Tony says.

" Relax, shellhead. Not all of us can fly", Nat says.

And within seconds, Natasha runs in.

" What's the drill?", She asks.

" This is the drill.If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we loose", Tony says as Hulk finally shows up.

" Is that the best you can do?!", Thor shouts at Ultron.

Ultron raises his arm, causing even more of his minions to rush up to his side.

" You had to ask", Steve says.

" This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you, against all of me. How could you possibly hope to stop me?", Ultron asks.

" {sighs} Well, like the old man said: Together."

Hulk roars, which acts like a trigger for the robots to attack them.

Lauren uses repetition. Gun, bo staff, gun, bo staff. A simple pattern when used correctly can be absolutely lethal. She puts everything back in its holster, and shoves her palms towards the robots, melting them with her fire.

They all work together as a team to annihilate the robots. All that's missing is the triumphant music.

When Ultron tries to intervene, he gets blasted back by Vision, then Thor, and then Tony. They blast Ultron until part of his face melts off, then stop.

" You know, with the benefit of hindsight--", Ultron starts, but gets cut off by Hulk punching him far, far away from here.

" We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats. I'll sweep for stragglers. Be right behind you", Steve says.

" You're not doing that alone," Lauren says.

" You need to get on a boat", He says.

" I'm not leaving your side until we're safe," She says.

" This isn't a discussion. You are getting on a boat", Steve says.

Lauren sighs, but listens.

" What about the core?", Clint asks.

" I'll protect it", Wanda says, then looks over at Clint, " It's my job".

" Are you sure you want to do this?" Lauren asks..

" I can do this. I'm no you... but I'll try", She says.

" Stay alive, Rogers," Lauren says to Steve.

" Likewise, Stone", Steve says.

" Nat, Lo, this way", Clint says, then leads Natasha and Lauren to a car, " I know what I need to do. The dining room. If I knock out that east wall, it'd make a nice workspace for Laura, huh? Put up some baffling. She can't hear the kids running around. What do you guys think?".

" You guys always eat in the kitchen anyway", Nat says.

" Dining room's are over-rated," Lauren says.

" No one eats in a dining room", He says as he stops the car, " We don't have a lot of time".

" So get your ass on a boat", Natasha and Lauren say at the same time as they exit the car.

" You know, it's really creepy how you guys do that", Clint says as he and Lauren walk onto a lifeboat.

" We've been creepier," Lauren says.

" Like that time you were experimenting with deadly Russian poisons?", He asks.

" Come on, Barton. I only paralyzed you for a week," She groans.

As people get strapped into the life boat, a woman exclaims as she realizes her child is missing.

"Costel! We were in the market."

Lauren looks off to the market, and sees the little boy hiding behind a stand. Before she can get one boot off the boat, Clint stops her. He runs off to save the little boy.

It all happened so quickly. Ultron came around in a jet. He shot at Steve and Thor, but missed. Then he shot at Clint, and missed him... but not Pietro. Pietro used his super speed to move a car in front of him, and ended up getting shredded with bullets.

" You didn't see that coming?", Pietro asks, then falls to the ground. 

Only one thought entered Lauren's mind. Wanda. She teleports to her just in time to see her collapse to her knees, letting her powers burst as she cries out.

Lauren walks towards her slowly, and speaks very softly.

" I... am so sorry, Wanda," She says.

" Please, do something. Th-There has to be something you can do. Please," Wanda pleads.

" I wish I could... but I can't bring back the dead," Lauren says.

Wanda collapses into her embrace as she cries her arms out. Lauren wraps her arms around the girl. She keeps her there, but then realizes that time is running out.

" We should get you on a boat," Lauren says

" There's something I need to do first", Wanda says.

" Okay. Just make sure to get on a boat. Promise me you will," Lauren says.

" I will."

Lauren teleports herself back onto the boat.

" Wanda...", Clint trails.

" She's... heartbroken. I have a feeling she's going after Ultron," Lauren says.

" I don't blame her", He says as he looks down at Pietro's lifeless body.

" They're just kids," Lauren says, unable to take her eyes off the corpse.

Steve tries to make his way towards the lifeboat... but he's not fast enough. A robot must have turned the dial of the core, because the next thing that happens is the city drops.

Lauren screams out at the top of her lungs as she watches his fall down. Out of instinct, she jumps off the boat. She flies down to save her and flies as fast as she can until she finds him. She grabs his arms, and her heart stops at his words.

" Marry me".

And all of a sudden, everything stops. Time is stopped. Her mind goes blank as she tries to comprehend what he just said.

Marry me.

Soon enough, she enters back into reality with a smile.

" Yes."

She teleports them back onto the boat, and gently sits him down onto the floor. Lauren gets on top of him, puts her hands on either side of his head and brings her lips down onto his. Steve's hands go onto her hips as they share their first kiss in engagement.

As Lauren pulls away, Steve pulls out a diamond ring from his pocket. She smiles as he slips it onto her finger. She sits in between his legs with her back pressed against his chest. Steve kisses the top of her head as he wraps his arms around her.

However, one thought lingers on her mind.

" Where's Kalea?" She asks.

Steve, along with the guard look confused.

" I'm sorry, ma'am, but there's nobody named Kalea here."

" Th-That's not possible... I told you to watch her..." Lauren says.

" Lo... you alright?" Steve asks.

She hums in response, unable to speak, because she just realized that she imagined the whole thing.
