I walked quietly down the dark street, bag slung tightly over my shoulder. Graffiti littered the buildings, the sky permanently dark. Living under Chicago in dirt houses sucked, but it's what we had to do. Being ruled by decepticons sucked too, but there wasn't much anyone could do.
Except the rebels.
Being a rebel entitled shit living, hidden bases, few followers, and a high risk of death. I guess that's why I chose that life.
I gripped my bag tighter, watching closely for decepticons, or desperate people. It wasn't uncommon for another person to just run up and take your shit. However, I think I'd die if my rebel gear was stolen because a rat person wanted to sell something to make a little money. I heard a school bell toll in the distance, making me pick up my pace as I jogged towards the run down brick building. I ducked quietly into the decepticon ruled school, the only place other teenagers and kids could be found. I quickly took a spot at the back lunch table, taking my place amongst the other depressed teens, grabbing a sandwich and splitting it sparingly among my group. The starved kids grabbed their pieces and ate slowly as they stared back at me.
"What's up, fellas?" I muttered, glancing at the group of homely kids. They all smiled, a few even laughed as they ate slowly. Food was hard to find, and it seemed these kids hadn't seen a bite of it since my last visit. Luca swallowed, rubbing his cheek as he stared at the table.
"Why are you here, (Y/n)?" He muttered, his tired eyes gazing at me. His skin was pale, sunken in, and starting to gain a sickly yellow tinge.
"Don't like my company?" I smirked, leaning back as I put my hands behind my head. The other kids giggled, starting to converse quietly with one another. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a decepticon looking at me firmly. I quickly sat forward, putting my hands down. The guard glared at me a while longer before he looked away, letting his eyes scan the room.
"Tonight." I whispered. The whole table fell silent. I stuck out three fingers, patting them to my neck. Luca scowled, shaking his head. "It's time we go out and run another round. We can't let the spirit die yet." I growled. The kids stayed silent, glancing nervously between each other. Luca swallowed again, glaring at me.
"No. No more missions. We're tired of going out and risking our lives."
I frowned. "And living like this is better? You don't have food, you don't have showers or clothes, you hardly have water. You really want to keep living like this?" I mumbled, standing up. Luca looked away, refusing to meet my gaze. I felt my own eyes soften. These were kids with no families, no homes, and no hope left in them. I put my hand on Anisa's shoulder, gripping it gently. "I'll bring more food." I muttered, slipping quietly out of a hole in the wall and into the dark street.
Sticking to the shadows, I quickly threw on my black cloak, slipping a rabbit mask over my face. I moved silently, stealthily, keeping my movements loose enough to seem relaxed, but tense enough to sprint away if needed. Decepticons roamed freely in this area, and until I got to my base, I was considered free game. There was no help, no backup. If I got found, I was screwed.
The base was definitely nothing to look at, and that's what made it perfect. Decepticons patrolled right past it every day, and they still hadn't seemed to have caught on. I slid silently through the back door, watching closely for any other bystanders. Once I deemed the coast clear, I snuck into the house.
Little did I know, a large, silent mech had been watching me the entire time.
"Sup dudes." I grunted, throwing my bag on the floor as I walked over to the other masked figures. "What's the target tonight?" I inquired, flopping lazily into a disintegrating wooden library chair. A boy in a dog mask looked back at me, waving his greeting. Clark. I almost regretted recruiting him, almost regretted taking L's spot as leader.
"Target's gunna be a bit harder." He mumbled, scratching nervously at his tousled hair. I leaned forward, gesturing for him to continue. His mask flickered across the faces of the others. A girl in a horse mask looked back at me, sighing in irritation. Tamika. I felt it was even worse that I had brought Clark's sibling to torture him. A valuable member of this team, for sure, but a nasty attitude.
"We're hitting Megatron's quarters. Says there's a shit ton of money, food, and other files holding the information we need to continue doing this." She drawled, smacking the dog masked boy upside his head. He cried out at that, rubbing the spot as his other fingers continued to work feverishly at his scalp.
I nodded in understanding, feeling my own heart plummet. I leaned back again, crossing my legs as I relaxing into the worn chair.
"Say, where's your little warriors?" A pigeon masked boy growled, staring back at me, challenging my response. Jackson. I leaned forward, shrugging.
"They're kids. They don't want to get caught and risk becoming a rat." I responded quietly, feigning my confidence.
"We're kids too..." The dog whimpered, lowering his head. I leaned forward to pat his hand comfortingly.
"I know. But the decepticons aren't something just anyone can go against. We do this daily, but those kids are beaten and threatened by those guys hourly. They have the fear set in due to their circumstances. If they had been with us more, or harbored more rage, then they'd be all over this like we were." I muttered, pulling away to grab my weapons.
I lifted a large cybertronian lock frier, admiring the illuminating blue lights covering the length of the tool. I quickly slung my bag over my shoulders, turning to stare at my team.
"Well? Why are you sitting there? Let's go!" I snarled, walking towards the back door, smiling at the sound of my team scrambling to gather their tools.
Shit hit the fan real quick.
It wasn't the plan, or the members of the team, but rather the masses of decepticons that seemed to notice us the second we entered the warlord's quarters.
It had been awful, close to bloody as my team bravely ran through the fingers of decepticons to grab supplies. We had all worked hard, earning the items we had retrieved. So, did the mech holding me to his visor deserve me?
Basic protocol, if a member is taken, leave them. I could still hear Clark's screams of protest as his sister dragged him away, no doubt there were tears streaming down her face as she refused to meet my eyes. I didn't reach a hand, I didn't cry out. I waved a small goodbye as my body was lifted carefully away from my brave team.
When I was face to face with the mech who had caught me, I felt a burning rage and fear flood me.
Soundwave.
His visor gleamed as he stared at me, his eyes hidden behind the red glass. He quickly opened his player, stuffing me inside.
"H-hey!" I yelled in protest. However, the growl from Ravage shut me up right away. Soundwave gave a small gesture that I interpreted as 'Get back.' I slipped back sitting squished between the cassette tapes stored in the large mech's chest. I reached a slow hand out to stroke gently at the large metal tapes. The tape beneath my hand seemed to purr at that, causing me to continue my actions. I could hear a conversation being held outside of Soundwave's chest, but I only caught bits and pieces.
"Where are the humans!?"
"... Disappeared... Fast, no traces." I could feel the frame beneath me vibrate, Soundwave's deep voice rumbling through his body. I felt my nerves spike as I sat tensely.
"... Find them... Data pads..."
"Yes, Lord Megatron." I felt myself stiffen at the rumbling name. I shifted closer to the large tape next to me, gripping the side of it tightly.
'Soundwave was talking to the Megatron?'
I was jostled suddenly as the glass chest opened, Soundwave's large hand reaching in to reach for me. I scooted away slightly, but the tape behind me shoved me forward into his waiting hand. Soundwave pulled me out slowly and carefully, me thrashing the whole time.
"What do you want!?" I demanded, gripping my hands into tight fists as I pounded them against the firm steel of his hand. Soundwave didn't move, simply holding me in front of his face. I slowly stopped, relaxing into his hand. "You knew all along, didn't you?" I muttered, embarrassed about my plan. The question was rhetorical, I knew the answer, but Soundwave nodded regardless. "Well, since you're gunna give me to Megatron, can you do me the one favor of holding me correctly?" I mumbled. I felt like my life had been sucked out of me, leaving this hollow shell of myself to walk around aimlessly and experience the wrath of Megatron's torture.
Surprisingly, Soundwave shook his head.
I frowned. Quietly, Soundwave's voice vibrated me. "Soundwave obey leader. Exception: (Y/n)." He sounded just as robotic as I had imagined, but for some reason, those words comforted me more than the legends my parents had once told me.
He opened his hand slowly as he turned it, allowing me to sit wide-eyed in his palm, staring up at the large mech.
"You're... You're not gunna turn me in? But why? Aren't you loyal to Meggy?" I asked quietly, terrified he'd change his mind at the sound of my voice.
Soundwave stared me down, his visor dimming slightly. "Loyalty to Megatron. Spark loyal to (Y/n)." Soundwave rumbled, his finger pointing to his spark chamber. I felt my own cheeks heat up at the confession.
"W-well..." I began to twiddled my fingers, looking anywhere but at Soundwave. He stared at me, I'm assuming, expectantly. "I don't really know you yet... And I don't really... I've never dated before, so I'm new to that..." I swerved around the actual answer. How could I tell him that the feelings weren't exactly mutual yet? I could be killed for hurting his feelings!
Soundwave nodded, turning on his heel and walking away. The ground shook beneath him, my arms instantly grabbing onto his fingers as he walked, barely keeping myself balanced on his hand. I watched in shock as he took me away from Megatron's quarters to another room.
The walls were covered with records and other musical items.
'This is Soundwave's room!' I thought in shock. The large mech set me down gently, my body sliding slowly off his hand and onto a soft comforter. My upper body clung to his hand as I stared up at him. Soundwave said nothing, looking away bashfully as he slid me the rest of the way off his hand. The silent mech quickly nodded, turning around and walking out of the room. I sat there staring at the door, wondering what just happened, and why I felt my heart pounding.
I slowly laid down on the large bed, relaxing into the warm comforter as I curled my body up.
I awoke to a door opening, thundering footsteps entering the room. I looked up just in time to see a panicked Soundwave. I yawned, waving half-heartedly at him.
"Hey." I muttered sleepily. Soundwaves faceplate seemed to flush a slight blue, but I wasn't given much time to observe as I was shoved back into his chest compartment.
'Must be serious.' I thought, climbing into the open area. I quickly slipped to the back of his chest, sliding carefully between two of the large tapes. The tapes made no noise as I situated myself between them, trying to wake myself up enough to be concerned. Suddenly, a loud voice made my blood shoot cold.
"Where is she?"
Starscream.
The annoying seeker had been pestering our plans and our base for a while, I knew for sure that he had seen my face at least once. I huddled closer to the tapes, praying Soundwave wouldn't sell me out to the filthy mech sneering in front of him.
"Question is illogical. Define 'who.'" Soundwave feigned his innocence. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"You know who, dammit! I saw her! I saw you and her! You have her here in this room! And I demand that you give her to me!" Starscream screeched, stamping his heel into the ground.
"Correction: No other life forms present." Soundwave rumbled. I shook in fear as I realized that the tin can before Soundwave wouldn't give up till he had gotten his way. That's how he was, how he had always been. Soundwave seemed to pick up on my distress, thin tentacles reaching towards me to stroke gently at my arms and legs.
I smiled at the tender action, stroking a few back. I could've sworn I heard Soundwave purr, but I quickly dismissed the idea as his tendrils retracted.
"Well?" Starscream demanded.
"This room is clear." Soundwave insisted, standing straighter as he towered over the smaller mech. Starscream tsked, turning on his heel and stomping away.
"If I find that filthy fleshling, I'll squish her beneath my heel." Starscream snarled. "This isn't over, Soundwave." The smaller mech threatened, walking out of the room, his feet audibly smacking the pavement till he was out of earshot. Soundwave let out a sigh, closing his door as he glanced cautiously for any other intruders. Once it was clear, Soundwave walked back into his quarters, opening his chest for me to crawl out. I carefully wiggled out, crawling into his hand.
Sounwave led me back to the large bed, setting me down before he sat down.
"(Y/n)... Okay?" Soundwave inquired quietly. I smiled, patting his large finger.
"(Y/n)'s fine." I responded, smiling up at him. "All because of you." I praised. Soundwave quickly retracted his face plate, his chiseled, and slightly scared lips coming into view.
"Soundwa-... I would... Like... To lo-ve... You..." Soundwave whispered, his real voice breaking the silence in the room. It was rough from lack of proper use, but it was so deep and smooth, it was almost impossible not to swoon. I quickly broke my trance and covered my fluster with an endearing smirk.
"Love me, huh?" I muttered, climbing up the large mech's body, his plates shivering beneath me as I perched myself atop his shoulder. Soundwave stared at me expectantly. I leaned forward slowly, planting a firm kiss to the corner of his mouth. I felt the metal beneath my quiver and heat up as his cooling fans kicked on rapidly. Soundwave seemed to grow increasingly embarrassed as the sound of the fans blades only increased. I laughed, stroking his jaw gently, drawing his face to look at me.
"I would absolutely love to love you, Soundwave." I purred, licking the corner of his mouth. His fans vented louder, his whole being shuddering. Soundwave let out a low rumble before pressing his larger lips tightly against my own. I groaned into the kiss, pressing back with equal force. When he pulled away, I stared half lidded up at him, my face flushed, and my lips no doubt swollen. Soundwave audibly gulped as he stared down at me.
"Sound-... I... Love... You..." Soundwave pronounced slowly, patting my head gently. I smiled, leaning into his hand.
"I love you too, Soundwave." I purred.
Who would've guessed?
Jesus, it's finally done! This took waaaaaaaaay longer than expected, and I've read way more books than I've put into writing. Sorry, ma dudes, but I got bored, kinda sad, and hungry. And we all know what happens when a loser gets hungry....... She leaves her duties for freaking ever, then comes back with pathetic excuses!
Well, hope that wasn't too awful!
I shall see you all in the next chapter!
