Ticking
FINALLY
A CHAPTER
THAT IS REALLY LOOK LIKE A CHAPTER
Well actually I gained my vision so there will be more to write
But
It depended on how long am I gonna describe it
———
Darkness took over me again. How long it have been? Minutes? Hours? Days? I don't know. What I could only gained was the sound. Footsteps, voices. And the smell of antiseptic was unbearable. God, let me get out of this place!!
I tried to struggle so many times. But it was worthless. My bones was heavy as lead. I'm feeling like the darkness is consuming over me. Am I gonna die? Or the truth is, I was........
Dead?
Maybe it was all an illusion? Or maybe I have died so I'm just a ghost? Or a soul? The thought of death kept surrounding my mind. Maybe I have. Maybe the doctors are just lying my mother. That her son is alive. But the truth is I died? Or maybe I was gone crazy? The word "maybe" just kept repeating over and over. Each word after then is another reason why I was blinded. There, I kept replaying those thoughts.
Then, there was light.
It just came in a sudden. While I was playing along with those thoughts, a light shone. Appearing from nowhere. It started small, just a tiny light like a star from the night sky. But the sparkle grew, larger and larger. It shined more brightly than ever. Then, it pushed the darkness away, leaving my body covered with light. My hand suddenly reached for the light, like I didn't want it to let go.
I was blinded again. But not the darkness. The light was shining infront me.
Adjust a while, I realized it was a neon light on the ceiling.
My left hand was putting on the air. Seemed to reaching to that light.
I was lying on a bed. A bed with aluminium fence. Not my bed for sure.
I tried to remember what happened. Right, the dream. The light was took over me and then this happened.
So that light was the neon light, I see.
Wait. I COULD SEE!! I ESCAPED THE DARK!!
I could opened my mouth too!! I was ready for the yell of happiness when my sight came back. My vision. I thought, I was free.
But I couldn't hear anything.
What..?
"Hello?", "Can anyone hear me?", "ANYONE???" Was the words and sentences I tried to say.
But nothing happened.
I tried to speak again when suddenly, pain crashed over my body. It was unbearable. I screamed. But my words were dissapeared. No. My voice was gone.
The pain kept made me surrender. Every inches of bones was terribly hurt. I tried to scream so many times. Begging the pain to stop, and someone to help. Yet, nothing happened. All what I could do is took the pain and yelled in silent. That went on for 10 minutes until I gave up. Yes, the pain still haven't gone. But I was too tired. Too exhaused to do anything.
Is this the price to pay my vision?
The pain went for straight 5 more minutes. Then it died down, and I let out a sigh. Finally...
I took a look over the room. It was a big room with many beds. Each beds was a person and they all wearing white clothes. Actually I didn't know if they wore pants or shorts, because the other half of their bodies was covered with blankets. Oh and did I told you I was not completely sticked on the bed? At my back was a pillow to help me lying on it and sat on. They were all sleeping. Wait, is it midnight? I checked the clock that was held on the wall infront me, at the left. 2 A.M. Wow. Alright then. Afterall I was an owl who used to stayed up all nights for straight 1 month 2 weeks anyway. Didn't matter,..... right?
After 20 more minutes, nothing changed. The silent of the room was still broken by the ticking of clock. I found out I couldn't sit up. My arm was moving, right. And I could turn my head, too. But the other parts of my body, it won't move. Like some kind of invisible heavy rocks stepping on them. I stared at my left arm. It was connected with a wire, to a bag that contain crimson liquid inside and was hanging on an iron hanger. A wierd machine with MANY wires connected to other parts of my body. And one of them was connected to my neck. No wonder I couldn't speak, and I was feeling so uncomfortable. My right eye-socket seemed to covered with bandages. Seriously? That eye-socket was blinded since I was born. What is the use of the bandages?
With the neon light upon me, and the ticking of the clock, went on all night.

Indeed there is nothing to say much. I was so happy to gain back my vision.... but then I realized I came to another.... worse.... more than the darkness. Worse, more.
And yes. I did counted the seconds to 1 minute until I gave up.
