[15] [FULL] I Don't Know How I Feel
Poppy picked up the phone and dialed Moxie's number. She was surprised that she answered right away, because Moxie was usually busy.
"Poppy!!" Moxie yelled, into the phone, panting. "Is everything alright?"
"Sort of," Poppy said, and took a breath.
"Uh oh. What do you mean?"
"Well, it's Branch. And Creek."
"What?! What has that idiot Creek done to you now?!!!" Moxie shrieked.
"Nothing," Poppy said.
"Well, than....what seems to be the problem?"
"I'm...I'm a little torn. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about Creek."
"Huh?"
"Like, yesterday. He hugged me, and all of a sudden, it just felt....I felt so....free. I felt like all the weight was off my shoulders."
"What are you saying, Poppy? Are you saying you have feelings for Creek again?" Moxie asked.
Poppy shook her head and sighed. "I don't know."
"Well, I say Branch is your best bet. I mean come on, Poppy. He's cute, handsome, funny, talented. He protects you. He's always by your side. What else could you want in a man?"
"I don't know," Poppy repeated.
"And what factors does Creek have that you like?"
Poppy stayed silent.
"Poppy?" Moxie asked.
"Branch was holding hands with another girl yesterday."
"So?" asked Moxie. "You've held hands with Creek many times before. That doesn't mean you're a couple, does it?"
"No...."
"Exactly. I want you to tell me...honestly. Do you like Creek?"
"Yes."
"Do you like him more than a friend?"
Poppy waited.
And waited.
And waited.
"Yes."
(Hop over to Branch's third person view)
Lily knocked On Branch's door, and he came to it right away.
I was honestly hoping it was Poppy, but Lily is a close second, Branch thought to himself. What am I saying?! he asked himself, once more before opening the door.
"Lily! Glad to see you!!" Branch said.
"Hey, Branchie!!" she said, and squeezed him into a hug.
Branchie?!
That Poppy's nickname for me, he thought.
Whatever. He hugged her back, but after five seconds, he became uncomfortable, and pushed her away.
The only person he'd hug for that long was Poppy.
And he'd like to keep it that way.
Right??
"Well, what brings you here?" Branch asked her, smiling a cheesy smile.
"Just came over to check on my little Branchie," she said, and skipped over to his couch.
My little Branchie??!!
"Okay Lily, that's enough. I know we're friends, but you know Poppy's the only one to call me that," he told her, shooting her a glare.
She looked down and swung her feet. "Oh....uh....right. I'm sorry. Guess I just got a little caught up with myself, huh?"
"Sure did," Branch said, and smirked at her, jokingly.
Lily swung her arm around Branch's shoulder. He smiled, and turned on the TV.
On was Trolls, and it was the True Colors part of it.
If only Poppy were here to see this.
"Ick," Lily said, and snatched the remote. "Turn this off."
He snatched it back. "Why?"
"This is gross romance stuff. I want some comedy to make me laugh."
She grabbed it, but he didn't let it go.
"No!" Branch said, playfully, and hit her hand.
"Hey!!" she said, and used all her strength to pull it away.
Branch tackled her on the couch and tickled her ribs so he could grab the remote. She giggled, and let it go easily. When he got it and let her go, she returned the tickling to him. He felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket.
"Revenge!!" she said, and and tickled him, too.
"Okay, okay!!!" Branch yelled, and pushed her off him. They changer the channel. He saw Poppy's adorable face flash away before his eyes. He frowned.
It almost felt as if that was happening right at the moment, too.
(Back to Poppy's third POV!!)
Poppy sat down next to Creek. He smiled at her. She grabbed his hand, it feeling so natural to do now that she didn't even think twice about it.
"Hey," Creek said.
"Hi!" said Poppy, being happy, as usual. "I haven't heard from Branch in a while. I tried to call his cell, but he didn't answer."
Creek smirked. His plan was going great. But he took the smirk off his face.
"Uh, he's probably just busy. Most guys are, especially if your...you know, your girlfriend is the queen."
Poppy shrugged. "I guess. But, he always answers. That's why I thought it was weird."
"Yeah," Creek said, and wrapped his arms around Poppy's waist. "I'm right!" he said, and smiled, jokingly.
Poppy signed, and looked st the river that was ahead of them.
"Such a pretty view," said said, and her shoulders fell as she relaxed sleepily into Creek's arms.
"Isn't it?" he said, and looked at her in the eyes. "I've been wanting to do this for a long time."
He grabbed her close to him, and she was breathing heavy, nervous. He pulled her into a kiss, and Poppy felt relieved.
She liked the feeling of being that close to Creek, for some reason. It started to rain on them, but that didn't stop it.
Creek let her go. He looked her in the eyes once more.
"There," he said, and sighed. "I've done it."
He handed her his jacket, and she out it on quickly, puting the hood on, but I didn't help her much. The rest of her body was being soaked.
Creek grabbed an umbrella out, and she had to scoot very close to him so they would both fit, but they did.
"Thanks," Poppy said, and smiled at him.
She kissed him once more.
(Back to Branch's their POV!!)
"I don't know," Branch said, on the phone to Guy Diamond. "I think I might hav feelings for her."
"For Lily?!" he asked.
"Yes....but I'm not sure exactly how I feel."
Lily came out of the bathroom, and Branch quickly hung up.
She smirked. "Who was that?" she asked.
"Ummm...nobody," Branch said, as they sat on the couch once more. He turned on the TV again. She looked at him, and snatched the remote.
"This again?!" Branch asked, and rolled his eyes. "Fine. You asked for it this time."
He toppled her over to the ground, and tickled her waist. She giggled hard, and before he or she knew it, she grabbed the back of his head and kissed him.
He heard the door open. And he knew it must only have been on person.
"Branch?!"
Poppy.
Well, there you go! 1113 words! Hope you enjoyed!! (I told you it was going to be long, but I didn't think it was going to be THIS long! 😄)
