Branch stared down at the ground as he flew away in the helicopter with Poppy laid down next to him, eyes closed.

Branch sighed. He then grabbed her hand, squeezed it, and looked up at the sky. He smiled, even though it was really hard to do.

"Please. Don't take Poppy. I love her with all my heart."

Branch looked around, and he all of a sudden saw a group of words that looked like they were made from clouds float I'm front of him.

She will be safe, the words read.

Then they disappeared.

Poppy moaned of pain, making Branch looked over at her. She was moving around in horrible pain.

He looked at the sky. This time, he didn't smile.

"Are you even there? Can you even hear me?"

Just then, he heard a voice that made him jump.

"He's there,"  Poppy said, and then her eyes closed again.

Just then, he heard a voice that wasn't Poppy's.

"I'm right here."

Jesus.

He was there.
