"Branch?" Poppy slowly made her way over to him, feeling half sorry for Creek, half sorry for Branch. Branch's fist were clutched and you could hear him breathing heavy. Poppy had never seen him so angry before.

"Why are you so angry?" Poppy asked. "I mean, I get it, Creek's a jerk, but, you seem more angry this time than you have any of the other times he's been mean to us."

Branch turned his head. "Because, Poppy, if Creek continues to try and make him fall for you, I fear, that you'll give him what he wants."

"What?" Poppy asked. "I would never love Creek!"

"As time goes on, Creek's been coming back into our lives. It feels like it's just normal for him to be around us now. He won't leave us alone and I'm worried that you're gaining a relationship with him again. Not necessarily a dating relationship, but....I don't know, Poppy, it's just.....I wish Creek would be gone for good."

"I do too," Poppy said quietly, and showed him a small smile. "But he isn't, and he won't be, and we're just going to have to live with that fact. Creek has tried to trick me many times before, but I'm not giving into his acts anymore. You've always been there for me. Has Creek? No, he hasn't. He a selfish betrayer and I would never want anyone like that."

Branch smiled. He squeezed her hands and embraced her, wiping away a few tears of fear.

"It's okay," Poppy said as they separated, and wiped away some of his tears. "Don't be afraid, you hear me?"

They both smiled and shared another embrace, happy to know that they both had each other's backs.
