Chapter One - A Twisted Fate

It had been years ago whenever Aphmau's life began going downwards. It was as if everything happy had just... gone, and as if fate had just decided that it wanted to watch someone suffer.

William had just been adopted into the family.

At first, he seemed like a normal kid. At least, normal enough after being put through foster care. He smiled enough, was kind, considerate, and everything a parent would want their child to be like. There were no suspicions or accusations pointing to him whenever Zack and Sylvanna passed away from a home invasion.

Then, years later, Aphmau had two children from an unknown father of whom only she knew of. It was on their sixth birthday that they passed away, and Aphmau's sister killed herself not long after. Aphmau moved away with two of her best friends to try and hide from her past life, not having told anyone of her family or children or even the torment she had gone through, and to try and free herself from the pain.

She began receiving dreams.

At first, they were normal "I miss my deceased child" dreams. The types where you'll be awake in the dream, caring for your child as if they never died. Then it grew more strange. Aphmau would have nightmares of a man with purple skin and a blood-stained purple security guard's uniform, an unreadable rusted badge on the hat and eyes as white as snow.

After that, Aphmau would have flashes of screams and yells, shouts and begs for mercy or freedom. Children's screams. Blood had been everywhere, and then Aphmau would wake up.

And then the nightmares grew really strange.

They would consist of the voices of unknown people or children saying "save them", or "you can't", or "follow me". Seemingly random things like that. Afterwards, Aphmau would receive a bright flash of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, the place where her children had been murdered.

Twenty-three years old. Twenty-three years since Aphmau had been born, and she already had to deal with all of that.

To stop the nightmares, Aphmau did the only logical thing. She didn't call a psychologist or anything of the sorts.

Instead, she began working the night shift at the "haunted" restaurant where her children had been killed on their sixth birthday.

Aphmau scoffed and playfully glared at Katelyn. "And why do you think I would be the one to get along with vicious animals better?"

No clue why they were having that conversation at seven in the morning, but they were. It was odd, but still happening.

"Because you're just... you!" Katelyn sighed, exasperated. "You get along with everyone, even animals. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if vicious attack animals were kind to you." She twirled her straw in her coffee and looked up at Aphmau. "Tell me why we're having this conversation exactly?"

Aphmau chuckled. "No clue. I'm off, anyway. I have something to do."

The mood seemed to darken as Aphmau said that. Katelyn hastily looked up from her stirring and raised an eyebrow, leaning back in her seat. "And what is that thing?"

"Nice try, but I'm off!"

Before Katelyn could respond, Aphmau had grabbed the keys to her car, waved, and was outside of the house.

"Bye?"

—(••÷[ Day 1 - Month 11 ]÷••)—

Aphmau lazily looked over all of the kids happily singing along to music and dancing happily or eating pizza. Mothers talked while watching over their children and some fathers were out dancing with them. Aphmau even saw one man breakdance (not surprising, since it was to make children laugh).

"You really have a knack with kids." A man with dark brown hair swept to one side smiled at Aphmau. "But I guess you have a reason. Your personality is a plus, as well."

Shrugging, Aphmau stood up and took her hat off, running her fingers through her hair. "Yeah. Been a year since I've seen them, anyway."

"Are you getting close to finding the truth?"

A sigh broke through Aphmau's lips. "Not any closer than I was last month. I'm trying, though, and I feel like I'll find something soon." Her grip on the blue-and-black hat tightened. "I have to, Adiran."

Adiran frowned. "Just let me know if you want me to take over for at least a night. One of those kids was my own. You're not in this alone. If you were, I wouldn't have joined whenever you said that there was a possibility that they were somehow still alive."

"Thanks, Adiran, but I won't take you up on that offer. It's my fault they're dead so I'm the one who needs to bring them back." Aphmau's eyes drifted away from the playing children, instead looking at the Bonnie animatronic's toy counterpart on the stage. "Let's talk about you. How's the husband?"

Adiran chuckled. "He's... decent. Considering his kid was murdered a year ago, he's doing fine. Not taking that into consideration, not so well."

They kept chatting until the clock struck noon. Aphmau's eyes widened. "Shit, I have to go. Katelyn's probably wondering where I'm at right now since I normally take the night shift. See ya, Adiran!"

Without waiting for a response, Aphmau headed off and was back home within fifteen minutes. She opened the door and managed to sneak to her room, changing into a casual purple cat crop top, light blue skinny jeans, and her usual dark purple sneakers. Finally, she made it back downstairs and went outside, where she heard voices from her roommates, Laurence, and Garroth.

"Oh, Aphmau! I didn't know you were home!" Laurence exclaimed, smiling.

Aphmau nervously chuckled. "I've just been holed away in my room; you wouldn't notice anyway."

Katelyn knowingly glanced at Aphmau but said nothing, as if she sensed that Aphmau was lying for a reason. A reason that nobody else knew.

—(••÷[ Night 1 - Month 11 ]÷••)—

It was a little before midnight and Aphmau was nervously awaiting her demise while spinning in a swivel chair, one leg off the floor. She nervously glanced at the time on her watch and the clock, tapping her other foot nervously.

Finally, the clock struck midnight and the real fun began.

Almost immediately the Parts and Services camera turned static and then returned to the usual camera. Aphmau noticed that Bonnie was the only one missing and relaxed, knowing that, for some reason, he and Mangle were the only ones who didn't hurt her.

Once again, the camera turned static, but this time Aphmau noticed that Toy Chica was missing from the stage. She immediately switched over to the kitchen's broken camera, hearing the pots and pans clattering softly but gradually rising until Aph could hear them without needing the camera's audio.

While switching around the cameras, Aphmau didn't notice that Chica had stopped making noise until it was too late. Chica's hand reached through the doorframe and Aphmau stifled a shriek, dodging underneath the sharp mechanical talons and running out the other door. She ran down the hallway and to the Kid's Study Corner, where bookshelves were stacked high and there were plenty of places to hide.

So, Aphmau did so, hiding in one of the darkest shadows behind a filing case, where she could see the animatronics but they couldn't see her. She watched as Chica's lumbering, eight-foot frame entered the room, eyes gleaming and mechanical twitches making her body spasm. Chica's glowing eyes scanned through the room and she wandered so close to Aphmau that she swore she could smell the animatronic's horrid - yet somehow existing - breath, but just as Aph had given up hope Chica turned and left the room.

Letting out a breath of relief, Aphmau quietly crept along the walls until she finally made it back to the office. After going over the cameras and finding out that it had already turned to four and Bonnie and Chica were the only ones to move, Aphmau relaxed a lot and began using up more power, as she had 90% remaining.

Finally, the clock chimed six and Aphmau was able to leave.

WC 1355 (about)

Sooooooo.... yeah. Life's been hell lately so I apologize for not posting for the last year or somethin' but I definitely tried. Here's the first chapter to my new story, a rewrite of 'Mystreet x FNaF'. This is 'Twisted Fate', the first book in the final rewrite of the 'MyStreet x FNaF' series. I have some plans for the future of this book, but this is all that's happening for now.
