Chapter 14

A black Slender tail wrapped around a small pale hand as a low purr escaped her lips.

"You seem to be quite affectionate today, did something good happen to you?"

A messy red haired  boy sat on the steps of his home rubbing the cat's head. He smiled as the cat licked his hand before leaping from his arms onto the ground. She meowed again before strutting off.

"Ah, you want to return to that mansion again do you? Wait for me!"

As if the cat understood, she paused to glance up at him while emitting another meow. Once the boy stood beside her, the cat continued forward.

Walking a short way, the cat meowed again and scratched against the front door of the mansion. In response, the door opened and the cat easily slipped inside.

Another young boy stepped out from the mansion, groceries and other supplies in his arms as he raced out.

"Oh, wait up kitty!" The boy said, deciding to follow the cat inside of the mansion. Stepping inside, the boy's large eyes widened as he glanced around at the beautiful interior.

He caught sight of the cat's tail slipping around the corner and he chased after it. "Little kitty, wait!"

The cat paused outside of a door and scratched against the wall furiously. At the sound of the boy approaching she stopped and meowed forcefully.

"You wanna enter there?" he inquired.

In response, the cat scratched the door more furiously. The boy smiled and stepped forwards, placing a small hand onto the door. Being short, he stood on the edge of his toes to open the door and the cat ran inside immediately.

The boy glanced around the empty room filled with books and spotted the cat as she leaped up and curled on an empty table while licking her paw.

"So this is where you like to stay," The boy said softly, stepping inside of the room. His eyes flickered over to a book beside the cat and reached out to pick it up. "I wonder if there are any pictures," he murmured, flipping through. Being unable to read, he frowned in disappointment when all he saw were hundreds of letters.

Footsteps from behind startled him and he quickly placed the book down before turning around.

"Why hello there,"

An elegant and beautiful looking silver haired vampire smiled and stepped closer to the boy.

"Oh, h-hello," he responded, the boy's voice shaking slightly.

"Remind me who you are," The vampire said as he gently began ruffling the top of the boy's head.

"M-my name is Luka."

"Luka," the vampire repeated, "I don't believe we've met before. Care to tell me why you're in my mansion? Not many humans would walk into a vampire's home without reason."

"I was following the kitty...she's my friend," The boy, Luka responded.

The vampire's eyes landed on the cat who was eyeing him defensively.

"Ah, Mayonaka, you led him here? What a naughty cat you are," he said, reaching out.

Without warning the cat hissed and violently swiped at the vampire before leaping down from the table and hiding under a shelf.

"I don't think kitty likes you very much Mr. vampire," Luka said.

The vampire chuckled, "I suppose not."

"My big brother comes here, his name is Jim. Do you know where I can find him Mr. vampire?"

The vampire glanced down at him, "Ah so you're that boy's brother. He should be in the kitchen receiving his payment."

"Okay, thank you," Luka began to run past the vampire.

"hm...Luka?"

The boy paused at the doorway and glanced back, "Yes?"

"Do come visit me next time, and don't be shy."

"O-okay, I will!"

The vampire then smiled and waved as Luka turned to leave.

Once the boy was out of sight the vampire turned his gaze to the cat hissing at him from underneath the shelf.

"Now now Mayonaka, don't be that way. You have a message for me."

The cat hissed again and swiped her paw at him. With a sigh, the vampire instantly appeared down in front of the shelf and grabbed the cat before she could even blink.

While she hissed and swiped at him furiously, he pulled out the paper from her collar and read it briefly. A smile appeared on his face as he emitted a low, "I see."

The cat was tossed aside and she landed on all fours, her body arched and her voice a menacing hiss before she bolted from the room.

A soft knock on the door moments later earned the gaze of the vampire. Another small child fidgeted uncomfortably, "I-i'd like to offer my blood...Ferid sir..."

A small smile crept across the vampire's face as he said, "Come in, don't be shy."
