"Where does this puzzle piece go?" Carl asks with his soft voice. I help him with the pieces and smile when he claps as he sees the finished puzzle in front of him. I felt like home even though I was in a hospital. It's been a few weeks after everything happened and I'm grateful that I could count on some people. They are my family now.

"Hey little guy, do you want to stroll around the park?" Theo asks as he enters with Fergus and Carl quickly throws me an excited grin and leaves with Theo. Fergus comes up to me, sits on one one of those metal chairs that barely fit me but he would still sit there for hours, talking about random stuff.

"How are you feeling?" he asks with a concerned smile plastered on his face.

"Better than ever." I smiled at him. its been two weeks since I accepted Zach's death. His funeral was close and I haven't still prepared on what to say but I know I will figure it out. That's what he used to say to me whenever I was tensed, I would always figure it out.

"Can I ask you a question?" I ask but not caring for the answer, I needed to kill the dead silence around me.

"What's your past with Sylvie and Hayley?" He seemed nervous at first but then he sighs and runs his hands through his already messy hair.

"It's kind of complicated. Back when I joined Haitao and others, I liked Hayley and soon we started to go out which turned into a relationship. I didn't know she was playing me like a fool because I was naive then. I realized their games and their lies one day and that was the day i left the gang. Sylvie and Hayley took my sister to the doctors and then she was never seen again till that day when i got her picture." India, Clara and Kiara were in the hospital too, recovering from the injuries. their situation was critical as they had fractured bones all over their bodies.

"I'm sorry for not not protecting you." he catches me off guard when apologises and a soft smile appears on my face as I say,

"you saved me though."

"I'm sorry for not protecting you enough." all this sudden affectionate feelings were a shock to me. before I could even ask whether he was okay or not. His arms wrap around my shoulders for a brief moment and then pulls away. He was apologising for everything. I understood him way more than he thinks I do. He was sorry for the fact that he didn't tell me that Remy was none other than my mother which was fine. I don't know how I would have taken the news if I heard it from him. I'm here and the people I cared about are here and that's all that matters.

I liked the fact that he was slowly warming up to me. Everything was going back to normal but there was one person missing and that was my brother. I miss him a lot during the lonely nights and crowded days. his words ring in my head whenever I think of him.

"So what now?" I ask him.

"Now , you recover and the ring is safe with me. All the money is safe with me. Once you return to the base, we will decide what to do with that." I smiled at his gesture. I liked 'we' and nodded at him with a soft smile on my face which soon tuned into a grim smile when he asked me.

"Do you....miss him?" his question brought back the tears but there was nothing left to cry about. I sniffled and whispered,

"Every moment of the day and night, if I had a chance then I would save him anyway."

Silence prevailed in the room again as I remember him again.

But this my life right now. I am uncertain about my future. I know I'm going to be with Fergus and others yet the threat to India's and Kiara's lives are still possible. For now, it was the peace I loved.

It was Fergus who is with me and it meant so much to me. I was free from the past that chased me down and tried to kill me. All I'm worried about is Clara who was still recovering from the wounds that Vincent caused but I'm glad that India is visiting her everyday even in her wheelchair to talk to her, not caring that she was in a coma. Theo saved her in the right time as he searched for us along with Elias.

Remy didn't put all the liquid in my body and that was one of the reasons I survived. But it did take something from me temporarily. I can't walk or even lift them but with the help of physiotherapy, I will able to walk around freely, all because of Fergus. He surely changed a lot. He was an evil man when I first met him but now I only see a vulnerable boy who tried his best to protect his loved ones. Ever since that incident, He was more expressive to me but not in front of anyone. He liked to be keep it to himself but I notice his small smiles and those light eyes which shone when Carl talks to him. I could get used to this.

"Can I get a hug again?" I smirked while he groaned and stared at me with annoyance just like how friends usually do.

"Shut up."
