since the beginning of time, witches
existed amongst humanity-
blending into the villages
and communities in which they lived.

witches were a key element
of nature- devoting their
lives to protecting the balance
of their beloved world.

werewolves were the first
threat to them. the species
created by a vengeful
witch- causing those
with the curse to
possess the gene and was
triggered by death.

vampires were the second
threat they faced. created
by a mother desperately
trying to protect her children-
the witches had to create ways
to protect their people from the
cruel hunger of the
vampires.

but, the threat they never expected
was themselves.

they had never considered
the thirst for hunger that
would grow within their
community.

the vengeful plans and
murders that took place in the
darkness of nightfall-
their sins concealed by
the shadows of the
earth.

the witches had never
planned for the moment
their own kind became their
worst enemy.

dark magic was an evil
form of magic- created by
souls that were dark and far
beyond redemption.
witches were taught that
from a young age.
to achieve dark magic required
one to forgo all the ways
they once knew and to
relearn their magic and
to draw power from
death.

witches were meant to protect-
not to kill.

but, power and death
went hand in hand-
where one fueled the other.
where power lingered and brewed,
death followed, grasping at any
souls it could reach. and for a witch
that desired power, she only had
to harvest her magic and kill;
to draw power from the blood of
her victims and harvest the magic
brought forth.

werewolves and vampires could be
dealt with by cursing them to
only change on the moon, or
not allowing them to walk in daylight.

but to have your own kind
turn dark and bask in the
violence and chaos they
created-
that was entirely different.

they didn't have a clue
how to save themselves.

but perhaps,the twisted tongues
of old and ancient magic had a plan.

   IN ADDITION, Ivy's initial characterization is quite innocent compared to other characters in the TVDU. I feel like I shouldn't have to clarify this, but, innocence is not a bad thing and I purposely created her this way as both a response to the trauma she endured as a child and to aid her character development throughout the story.

   PLOT LINE: As with most of my books, I intertwine aspects of the fandom I'm writing in and my own original concepts and ideas. This book is heavily centered around magic and Ivy's personal journey, mixed with a far amount of the plot that is showcased in the show. While some parts of the book will contain parts of the TVDU plot, I don't put barriers on myself to stay within the plot line shown on the show. Meaning that a fair amount of this book will have a multitude of original characters, plot, etc. If you are looking for a book that follows the TVDU plot completely, I'd recommend finding another book!

    PLEASE REFRAIN from stealing anything regarding my characters, plot, dialogue, or anything that is unique to this story or created by me. Any stories plagiarized will be reported.

   THIS BOOK will include detailed sexual content (smut). I'm trying to think of a way to individually mark those chapters for those that are not comfortable reading in depth smut, but I will let you all know if I decide to. Until then, just know that skipping over explicit smut is more than alright and you will not miss any key elements of the story if you do decide to skip the smut!

   IN ADDITION to smut, this book will contain a mixture of witchcraft with sex; meaning, sex magic/ritual magic will happen at some point in the book. Again, you may skip if you wish to as it doesn't greatly effect the comprehension of the story if you do!

    MATURE TOPICS AND TRIGGERS; mentions of mature topics including but not limited to; detailed sexual content, violence, witchcraft, rituals, mentions of dark magic/rituals, ritual sacrifices, mentions of sexual assault, mentions of abusive childhoods, abandonment, alcoholism, etc. Please do not read if this is something that can negatively effect you. Your mental health is far more important.

   THE main character of this book is pansexual and a fair amount of supporting characters are part of the LGBTQ+ community. That being said, homophobia will be briefly mentioned at some points in the book; specifically in scenes set in the past while Ivy had first begun to grasp her sexuality. While Klaus is endgame, Ivy will continue exploring her sexuality as will many other characters; no hate will be tolerated in this regard. If you comment hate in terms of Ivy's or any other characters' sexualities and/or expression of themselves, you will be muted. This book and my account in general is a safe space and ignorance will not be tolerated.

   DO NOT feel guilty if the themes portrayed in this book make it difficult for you to continue; always put your mental health first!

   ON THAT NOTE: I do want to note that this book is going to be an emotional rollercoaster and at times, will become very dark. I will mark any individual chapters that have a graphic depiction of anything that may be upsetting for my readers. I will try to make said warnings stand out on any individual chapters, so just be sure that you are aware of them.
