Shopping; Humilating Visit
Daikon's deadpan face is shown as he flies in the sky with Chi-Chi is his back with Goten rides on Nimbus. He was not willing to hold her as he felt it's an invasion of her commitment to his dead brother, so he decided to not hold her in his arms, but fly gently so she wouldn't fall.
Soon, they land on a field outside the city without people seeing them. Nimbus flies off as Daikon looks at the skyscrapers towered above the numerous trees while the sound of racing cars filled his ears. As soon as they left the baron land, he would be in the same place he landed. The place where he met the Great Saiyaman.
Daikon: *In his mind* Shit.
Chi-Chi bit her bottom lip as the trio left the wooded area behind them, coming up behind one of her favorite super markets. She was slightly ahead of Daikon and Goten turning around with her hands on her hips, looking serious.
Chi-Chi: Now listen, boys. We're in the public eye now, meaning you have to act like humans. Got that? No fighting, no powers, and especially no Super Saiyans!
Goten: Don't worry, mama! I won't turn into a Super Saiyan!
Daikon looks at him with a confused frown.
Daikon: You can turn into a Super Saiyan?
Goten nods, but Daikon laughs at him. Goten frowned as Chi-Chi glared at her brother-in-law, but he didn't care.
Daikon: You crack me up, child. *pats his hear* There's no way in hell a little thing like you can have that much power right now.
Goten: Oh yeah?! Want me to show-
Daikon: Ah-Ah-Ah. You promised.
Goten grumbles a bit as he puffs his cheeks into a pout. Chi-Chi rubs his head as she grabs his hand.
Chi-Chi: You can show your uncle your little move later, okay? We need to get the groceries and hurry over to Gohan so he won't fail due to starvation!
Goten: Oh nooo! Let's go! Let's go! * pulling his mother's hand towards the supermarket* Come on, Uncle! I know you're not that slow!
The Saiyan shook his head, regaining his composure. Surely, it was all a bluff. It had to be. There was no chance a child, especially a half-human one, could possess the power of a Super Saiyan.
Daikon: *smirks* The boy wants to impress his uncle. Adorable.
*inside the supermarket*
Daikon is seen walking with his SIL and Nephew though kept his distance despite the little boy telling him to catch up. At least he called him 'Uncle' so no one could confuse them for being a couple. The thought of being seen as that by his brother's wife disgusts him.
Soon, Daikon is walking by but he then sees people staring at him. It shouldn't be surprising as he's like a very clear needle in a haystack. He just scowls at them, making them leave and look away in fear. It didn't help that his fangs can be seen.
Soon, they're leaving as Daikon looks at the stack of items they got.
Daikon: How are you gonna get these home?
Chi-Chi: Well we have guys like you carry them as you're strong.
Daikon rolls his eyes.
Chi-Chi: Alright, boys! Gohan's school is straight down the road-
Goten: Mama! I need to pee!
Chi-Chi: Right now!? Sweetie, can you hold it just a bit longer? Mama doesn't want to go back in there to see all those people again.
Goten: No! I need to go, now!
Chi-Chi sighed, looking around until her eyes settled on the alley between the two buildings in front of them.
Chi-Chi: Alright, Goten. Follow me. *looks at Daikon* Can you watch the groceries while I take him behind the dumpster?
Daikon: What? You're gonna throw him in there? That's low, Chi-Chi. *chuckles*
Ignoring his comment, Chi-Chi grabbed her son's hand and the two disappeared down the alley. Daikon watches them as he waits for them to be done. Soon, he sees some people passing by, looking at him.
Growing annoyed by their stares, he rolls his eyes back, makes a grin, and sticks his tongue out.
(This is the best image I can find)
They ran away as Daikon chuckled. Suddenly, a woman's scream was heard and it made his ears bleed. He felt Chi-Chi's ki, go up, most likely from fear.
Daikon: *deadpan* That harpy. Sounds like she and the brat are in trouble.
He was about to dart down the alley but remembered the precious groceries. Grabbing the handle, he charged his way towards the dumpsters to find his sister-in-law coward against the dead-end wall, with his tiny nephew standing protectively in front of her as two armed men surrounded them.
Daikon scowls as he looks at Goten and Chi-Chi. He silently tells them to turn around and cover their ears. They did so as the armed men shouted at them to look at them. Daikon then turns Super Saiyan, his eyes glow red, and then roars at the men.

Daikon:
The men screamed as they turned to Daikon and fired at him. The bullets bounce off him as looks on with a deadpan look.
Soon, the bullets run out. The men look at him in fear before running away.
Daikon: Alright, boy. Show me you're power.
Goten nods and then...
Daikon looks at Goten in shock. He was convinced that he could not turn Super Saiyan, but he was proven wrong.
Daikon: *smirks* Well I'll be damned.
The muggers tried to escape by climbing the wall. Daikon and Goten grabbed their legs and pulled them down while Daikon chokeslams one and Goten punches the other.
Goten: We can't kill them, Uncle.
Daikon: *rolls his eyes* Fine. Just hang them by their underwear on that building and we'll be done.
Goten: Oh, that's funny!
Daikon: What can I say? I love to humiliate those who deserve it.
Chi-Chi: *hears the sirens.* Hurry up, you two!
Daikon grabbed them by their underwear, gave them a wedgie while flying up, and hanged them on a pole. He flies down as he and Goten fly off with Chi-Chi and the groceries. They managed to escape from the Police, but not a certain girl with black pigtails who watched them in shock.
*later*
Daikon looks up at the school with a scowl, wondering why Gohan is wasting time there when he should be training and getting stronger. Sure, he's smart, himself, but he also prioritizes becoming stronger to stay alive.
Daikon: *in his mind* The brat is just begging to be killed.
Chi-Chi: This is it! *sighed, collapsing on the grass in front of the building beside her shopping cart* I have Gohan's room number right here.
She handed a slip of paper over to Daikon, who took it reluctantly but then shredded it to pieces. Before Chi-Chi could argue with him, he held out a hand to stop her.
Daikon: His Ki can be noticed from a mile away.
Chi-Chi sighs as she nods while Daikon takes the bag and walks off.
Goten: We'll wait for you out here, Uncle!
Daikon grunts as he enters the school through the doors.
*inside the school*
Gohan fiddled with his thumbs, anxiously looking out the window of his classroom every few minutes. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous, it's not like his mother could make it to Satan City while he was still in school.
Random Student: Hey, did ya hear? The Gold Fighter made another appearance this morning!
Gohan's heart nearly dropped to his stomach as his two male classmates in front of him began whispering to each other.
Classmate: Oh, yeah! I heard alright. I also heard the Great Saiyaman stopped some dude from killing the whole city, too! Heard that dude fell straight from the sky!
Gohan's thumping heart calmed down slightly when Sharpener, a few seats away from him, scoffed.
Sharpener: You two need to lay off the energy boosters. There's no way that could be true. *relaxed back in his seat, kicking his feet up on the desk* Just a bunch of people bored with their lives.
Gohan: *smiled awkwardly*Yeah! Just fantasy!
Erasa giggled, pinching his arm.
Erasa: Why are you acting so silly, handsome? Is it because Videl's not here?
The teen had noticed the girl who constantly kept a keen eye on him wasn't in her usual spot, but she wasn't on the top of Gohan's worries at the moment.
Gohan: N-No. But speaking of Videl, where is she?
Erasa: Oh, I guess you missed it since you're always a few minutes late and all! *winks at him* She got a call as soon as the bell rang about two guys who have been going around the city mugging people!
Gohan: Gosh, I hope she's okay.
Erasa pinched his shoulder and giggled again.
Erasa: Of course she is! She's Mr. Satan's daughter, after all!
That caused Gohan to become more uneasy, but he didn't reply. Suddenly, the door of the classroom opened slowly, causing Gohan's heart rate to skyrocket but it calmed down as soon as he saw Videl making her way up the stairs to her seat. She looked more pensive than usual, and she threw her book down on her desk.
Erasa: What's wrong, girl? Did the muggers getaway?
Videl: But you wouldn't believe it! I saw two guys scare the living daylights out of them and they placed them on top of Gordi's Restaurant by their underwear before I could have a chance to beat on them!
Gohan twitched, watching the girls in the corner of his eye.
Erasa: What! Gordi's Restaurant!? That's the tallest building in the city! How did they manage to get them up there?
Videl: They flew! I couldn't make out one of the guys, but the small one I definitely could. You won't believe it- It was another gold fighter! A tiny one like a child! And that's not all! I saw two other ones this morning! The original and his friend!
Gohan let out a yelp, but it was blocked out by the loud gasps around him.
Sharpener: No way!
The teen began to sink lower into his chair as Videl continued to tell her classmates about her morning experiences. The female professor had gotten so used to the students ignoring her, that she returned the favor by carelessly reading a magazine.
Gohan: *in his mind* Crap, crap, crap! Could this get any worse!
The door of the classroom burst open with great fury, causing the class to fall silent as all eyes were on the intruder. Gohan was frozen in his seat as the messy-haired haired with a ponytail, bearded, Saiyan, with a different attire that reminded him of his father, but different.
Erasa: Ooh, he's cute! *giggled* I wonder who he is!
Gohan: My Uncle...
This caused the few around him to gasp. This man is his uncle?
Erasa: Uncle?! *bewilderment at the stranger, and blushed wildly while whispering to Videl* Oh my gosh, if that's what the uncle looks like, just imagine the father!
The blue-eyed girl was too busy focusing on the stranger to pay attention to her friend. Her eyes narrowed on him, taking note that he was wearing the same strange outfit as the other gold fighter. Slowly glancing away from him, she peered over at Gohan through Erasa and scowled.
The blonde professor stood up, smoothing down her green skirt as she made her way towards Daikon.
Teacher: May I help you sir?
Daikon. *points at Gohan* Yeah, the poor baby's mommy wanted me to deliver him his lunch.
The class erupted in laughter, as the half-Saiyan prayed to Dende that he could turn into a puddle and just slip through the cracks.
Daikon: Is it alright if I give it to the baby? *gets annoyed by the laughter* SHUT THE FUCK UP!
The class went silent by the shout. Especially since they see his fangs as he yells at them. The woman blushed at the brutish male before her, unsure of how she was supposed to feel.
She knew she wasn't supposed to have a stranger in the room without a visitor's badge, but she secretly had a grudge against Gohan for all the times he'd left her class to go 'pee'.
Teacher: Alright. *winked* I believe there's an empty seat beside him. You can stay until the end of the lecture if you'd like.
Daikon raised his brow as he at the blonde professor, slightly amused by the wickedness of her voice and openness to torture Gohan. A smirk crossed his face as he nodded, and began making his way up to his nephew's row.
As he did, he heard some female students talking about his looks. They giggle at how he's a handsome foreigner with his clothes. But one growl from Daikon made them shut up. Rolling his eyes, he continued until he made it to the empty seat beside Gohan, at the end of the row.
The teen watched with horrified eyes as Daikon plopped the brown bag on his desk and took a seat while resting his legs on the desk.
Gohan: *whispers* What are you doing here!? How'd did you-
Daikon: If you dare ask me how did I find you, I'll smack you for your stupidity. *looks away* Besides, this is all your mother's doing, along with taking me and the little runt with her. *snatches a book from a student and reads it*
Gohan: *gulps* Crap! They're here, too?!
Daikon: Outside. *he said while not looking at him*
The teen sunk even lower into his seat, the action causing Videl a few seats over to get a good glimpse at the strange male. Her scowl deepened as she realized something about the other gold fighter from not too long ago.
Videl: HEY!
Startled, Gohan sat up straighter and tried to block Daikon from Videl's sight.
Gohan: Oh, hey Videl! How's it going? Keeping crime off the street? *gets smacked by Daikon* Ow!
Ignoring the awkward boy, Videl stretched her neck up to see the so-called 'Uncle' who reads without acknowledging her.
Daikon: *in his mind* Great. This is the girl from this morning. And come to think of it, she was there when I put those insects in that building. Why does my nephew have to surround himself with freaks?
Videl: *clears her throat* Excuse me, I said 'hey'.
Daikon: And I said Fuck off.
Videl: No you didn't.
Daikon: Now I did. *flips the Dragon*
The students oohed as Daikon had a smirk while Videl fumed. Erasa giggled while poking Gohan on the shoulder. The teen looked up at her with pained eyes.
Erasa: Looks like we're caught in the middle of madness!
She giggled, and Gohan couldn't believe just how right she was. Not including his mother and Vegeta (who were on a whole other level), they were sandwiched between two of the most determined and stubborn people he had ever met. They looked at Videl.
Videl: You know, I find it kind of suspicious that both you and Gohan are wearing outfits extremely similar to the two Gold Fighters I saw this morning. Even that you're hair, despite the ponytail, and beard looks like the other one. *eyes narrowed* Weird, huh?
Daikon: *not taking his eyes off of the book* Yes, it is. What's more weirder is that you, about the same age as my nephew, are around, creeping on people on the streets, looking for imaginary people that are in your empty head. *turns a page* A hobby that is bound to come back and bite you when you desire a mate.
Videl growls as Gohan shakes a bit Daikon notices and frowns, wondering why his nephew is scared of this weak human girl.
Videl: Just tell me. Are you familiar with the Golden Fighters or not?
Daikon looks at Gohan who is begging him not to engage with Videl. While he wants to beat the shit out of his nephew, he had to remind himself the kid probably had a hard time already trying to fit in with these pathetic weaklings. He sighs as he finally looks at Videl.
Daikon: No I am not. I only like the look of the one you're mentioning.
Shocked, Gohan mouthed a silent 'thank you' while Sharpener laughed harshly.
Sharpener: Of course an old geezer would want to relive his glory days pretending to be the Gold Fighter. I mean, what do you expect? His nephew is a complete dor-
Daikon got up and went up to Sharpener and grabbed him by the shirt. He brings him up to his face as he shakes in fear.
Gohan: Daikon! Don't-
Daikon's eyes went white and then...
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
Daikon:
Everyone covered their ears as Sharpener took the full brunt of the beast-like roar. Soon, Daikon goes quiet as Sharpener is pale, shaking, and looking like his life flashed before his very eyes.
Daikon lets him go and he falls. Gohan tries to pull him away but gets grabbed by the throat. Without even looking, Daikon walks down, dragging his nephew with him as she shuts the door.
Everyone stays silent as they wonder what just happened while Sharpener's friends tend to him. Videl thinks about what happened and wonders what kind of people Gohan had around him.
*outside the classroom*
Daikon slammed Gohan against one of the green lockers in front of them and snarled down at him.
Daikon: I know you were trying to stop me from harming that insect. So my question is, where do you get off of trying to save him?
The teenager blinked, trying to regain his composure. He knew Daikon wasn't mad about him trying to protect a 'weakling', but more so that he went against him and damaged his pride slightly. Gohan knew this all too well, thinking of Vegeta. He stared down at his feet, unable to look into the eyes of his angry uncle.
Gohan: I'm sorry, Daikon. I just can't do anything to stick out here. I promised my mom. I just want to live a normal life with my diploma, not... fight. *looked up finally, his voice finally finding the strength to remain firm* I'm sorry. It wasn't about disrespecting you, honestly.
Daikon's eyes widened in disbelief at the words. A Saiyan not wanting to fight!? A Saiyan wanting to settle down to a 'normal' lifestyle!?
Daikon: *in his mind* What the fuck does that mean anyway? Normal?
The full-blooded Saiyan scoffed, realizing how his nephew also contained half of the pathetic human blood inside him. He then turns and looks away.
Daikon: You do realize you're far from normal, right? I mean, come on, you were trained to help save your planet, and now, you want this "normal" life, when at the end of the day, there will be a threat coming out to threaten this "normal" life. And you... you won't be strong enough to stop it.
Gohan listened to him. But... he felt something off about Daikon's voice. It sounded... vulnerable. Something he doesn't expect from a Saiyan like him. He doesn't see it, but Daikon looked a bit sad but stayed stoic.
Daikon: You're always going to have Saiyan blood in you no matter what lifestyle you choose to live.
Gohan stood up straight, looking up at his uncle who he still hardly knew anything about but could still see pain forming in the dark orbs in his eyes.
Gohan: You don't know how proud I am to have Saiyan blood. My dad is the greatest man I have ever known.
That part made Daikon's mood soften. It seems hearing how, despite his flaws, Kakarot was still loved and respected for his contributions and it's comforting to hear.
Gohan: But you also need to understand how proud I am to have my mom's blood mixed in there, too. I love her, and I'd do anything to keep her happy and safe.
Daikon felt that odd sensation in his stomach again and winced, taking a few steps back from his half-blooded nephew. The sound of her screaming when the muggers cornered her in the alley rang through his ears, the way she ran to his side when he took out the muggers. She wanted to support him from danger knowing full well only her life was at risk.
Daikon grunts as memories of his mother, Gine, running towards him after he returned, bruised, but victorious. Soon, he felt something beating his chest as he pressed his hand on it.
He then realizes... it's his heart.
Daikon: *in his mind* Why? Why am I suddenly caring about them? They're a pain in my ass... right?
Gohan: Are you alright?
Gohan reached a hand out to touch Daikon's shoulder, and to his surprise the pained man let it remain. Soon, Daikon stood straight and sighed.
Daikon: I like this planet.
Gohan: What's that now?
Daikon: *snarls as he shoves Gohan's hand off of him* Nothing, kid. Just pissed about what you did in there, but I'll take it out on you later.
He turned his back, ready to exit from the school. He looked over his shoulder, the words at the tip of his tongue struggling to break through.
Daikon: I'll... watch out for them. You just keep making your mom proud. *in his mind* Shit, what the hell is wrong with me?
Gohan watched in disbelief as his Uncle's back disappeared as he darted out the halls, presumably back to where his mother and brother were waiting on him.
A slow, childish grin began to grow on the young man's face as he realized Daikon complimented him for the first time. He may not be making his straight-up Saiyan adult proud, but Daikon recognized how much pride Chi-Chi held in him. And that was enough.
Gohan: Hey, Daikon! *managed to stop him as he looked back*
Daikon: *in his mind* Oh great, time for his cheesy shit! Nice going, Daikon. Nice going. Oh man, I hope this doesn't sound cheesy!
Gohan: Would you like to see an old friend of yours after school? I think it would do your soul some good.
Daikon: *confused* Friend? *realizes* Vegeta.
Daikon's scowl deepened as he remembered the arrogant little prince, but had respect for his father. They were royalty and didn't let anyone forget. Especially the spoiled little prince. Of course, out of all the damn Saiyans left, he was the only one.
Daikon: He's not a friend. He looked down on me for being born low class. Along with Nappa and Raditz, who saw my efforts as a waste of time.
Gohan: *chuckles nervously* Well, he's always up for a good spar. Maybe you could finally test your new strength on him? I'd love to see what you've got before we go on one again.
Daikon turned around so he was fully facing Gohan, albeit a few feet away. That sounded like a superb idea, perhaps finally getting the chance to punch the prince in the face. Had that strong warrior child grown into a stronger adult? There was only one way to find out.
Daikon: Fine. I'll wait until you come out.
Gohan smiled warmly before Daikon fully disappeared out of the high school.
*with Daikon*
Daikon: Well... this is an interesting time. I met my brother's family, got to spend time with them, find out I have a family of Super Saiyans, a SIL that is a Harpy, and everything else. It's quite chaotic... but why do I enjoy it?
He said as he left. But then... he felt something was watching... something familiar yet strange...
How's the chapter?
