043, strange frequencies

SCOTT, THEO, Miah, Isaac and Stiles stand around Josh's body in the animal clinic, all fidgeting due to their nerves.

"Do you know him?" Theo quizzes directing the question at Scott and Miah sensing the couples sadness.

"His name's Josh. He was a junior." Miah softly mumbles, "Which one did it? The one with the cane?" Scott questions looking up from the juniors body at Stiles and Theo.

"Yeah." Theo responds, "What are we going to do with him? We can't just set the alarm and leave. That's how Tracy disappeared. Someone's got to stay here with him." Stiles demands.

"I'll do it." Theo shrugs receiving shocked looks from all three stood in the room.

"It's not like I had a big Saturday night planned." Theo explains.

Miah looks at Scott hearing his phone vibrating in his pocket hearing Scott's breathing pick up a little panicked, "What is it?" Stiles inquires.

"Another one. Another chimera." Scott utters in response gesturing for Isaac, Miah and Stiles to follow him to his house since Liam's there with the said chimera.

After hearing it has something to do with the young beta Miah follows hot on Scott's tail wanting to make sure the boy is okay.

Miah doesn't wait for the three males as she rushes inside the McCall house searching for Liam.

Finally finding him in Scott's bedroom pacing nervously.

"Oh. Thank god!" Miah exclaims exhaling in relief seeing the Dunbar boy is okay and not injured.

Scott, Isaac and Stiles soon join them listening to Liam as he explains what happened to Hayden on the side of the road.

"Hayden? It's Scott. I know that you're scared. But we just... we want to help." Scott voices knocking on the bathroom door softly not wanting to startle the girl on the other side.

Miah tilts her head hearing Hayden's racing heartbeat from where she standing beside Stiles.

"I can hear her heart beating. She's really freaked out. What happened?" Scott asks turning to face Liam.

"She was okay when we got here. I went to text you for two seconds and she locked herself in." Liam responds.

"Why?" Isaac asks, "I don't know." Liam shrugs, "She's definitely a chimera?" Miah gently quizzes hearing Liam's heart beating quickly anxious for the girl in the bathroom.

"She said she heard a voice saying, 'your condition improves'." Liam states.

Miah frowns taking in the phrase since she heard it a few nights ago and last night while she was sleeping.

"Okay. That's unsettling." Isaac murmurs while Stiles takes a step standing in-front of the locked door.

"Hayden... this is Stiles. Your sister works for my dad down at the station? Look... just open the door. You can trust us." Stiles firmly states taking a step backwards from the said door.

"We just need to tell you the truth... Hayden. And that kind of thing is usually better face-to-face." Scott says leaning against the door.

Oblivious to the fact Miah gulps seeing the way her palms are glowing with her chaos magic.

Making her quickly hide her hands in her jackets pockets looking at Isaac, Liam and Stiles innocently.

"You good?" Isaac mouths worriedly receiving a nod from the blonde mage hybrid.

"Listen. Either you're gonna unlock the door, or I'm gonna have to break it open. It's okay if you don't want to talk... or if you're not ready to believe us. But I just... I gotta know that you're okay in there." Scott demands stepping away from the door ready to bash his shoulder into it if necessary.

"Give her a moment. She's moving." Miah voices using her coyote hearing abilities to listen in on the opposite side of the door.

Scott watches as the door opens slowly revealing Hayden standing with her claws drawn and her golden yellow eyes shining in the light of the night sky outside.

"I believe you." Hayden whimpers horrified at the sight of herself being a supernatural creature.

MIAH WALKS into her apartment hearing hushed whispers coming from the kitchen.

"I'm home!" Miah exclaims walking into the kitchen seeing Mack and her dad─ Joel talking amongst themselves and noticing the lack of River.

"Hi bug. You doing alright?" Joel questions worriedly since Isaac called him and told him about what he saw last night.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just exhausted. Where's River?" Miah frowns also noticing River's stuff is gone.

"He went back home honey. He left something in your room for you though." Joel explains.

"Oh. Okay." Miah responds confused walking into her bedroom seeing a little teddy bear placed on her bed just below her pillows with a small note.

─ RIVER

Miah huffs placing the note on her bedside table and smiling at the teddy bear River gifted her.

"Guess it's just you and me, little dude." Miah mumbles feeling like she has no one.

She knows if she speaks to her father about what she's feeling inside and the whole chaos magic glowing in her palms thing he'll think she's insane and just avoid talking to her all together.

Miah exhales wiping away a tear that's fallen down her cheek thinking about Scott and the way things are changing between the two of them─ thinking that their honeymoon phase might be over and now it's just the rubble of the true alpha and her coyotes bonds.

Sniffling at the thoughts Miah walks into her ensuite bathroom showering and just taking some time for herself.

Knowing school will be chaotic and challenging this week especially with the reveal of Liam's friend being a chimera.

LYDIA AND Miah stand with one another as Parrish works on the frequency machine since Scott and the others have come up with a plan to capture one of the Dread Doctors tonight.

Miah yawns watching the deputy do his usual building routine before he looks up smiling at her amused at her tired bored yawn.

"I should probably go meet Scott and go over the plan with him." Miah mumbles.

"Okay. Text me when you get there safely please?" Lydia suggests, "Of course Lyds. Bye Jordan." Miah exclaims waving at the male while she leaves his apartment.

Miah leans down looking at the large telluric currents map placed on Scott's dining room table.

"My dad and Mack are also in. So they'll keep an eye out around town for someone stealing bodies." Miah explains looking up at her boyfriend noticing him squinting at her almost suspicious of her behaviour.

"What?" Miah questions standing up straight alarmed, "Nothing. You're just... I don't know." Scott mumbles looking away from the blonde girl.

"What about me?" Miah quizzes wanting to know her place in this plan since Kira's backed out during to her luck a few nights ago at Eichen and not wanting anyone getting hurt especially her friends.

Isaac and Malia are keeping watch in the school corridors for anything suspicious.

"Um. Well... you'll come to the school with us. We're going to need all the help that we can get. So pack all your magic in." Scott suggests avoiding eye contact with the blonde mage hybrid.

"Actually... I think I might hold off with my magic for a little while. My coyote side is ready to kick some ass though." Miah explains awkwardly.

"Oh. Well... your coyote side is just as powerful so that's good." Scott responds clearing his throat due to the awkward tension between the two lovers.

Scott looks up taking in Miah's appearance for the day noticing her keeping her hands trapped inside her sweatshirt.

"I'm gonna... I'm gonna head out and get ready for tonight." Miah voices standing up straight feeling Scott gently take ahold of her hand bringing it out from her pockets.

"I'll see you later, right?" Scott wonders, "Yeah. Yeah... you'll see me later Scott," Miah mumbles forcing the tears back remembering back to their intimate moments together months ago.

"Bye." Miah stutters hurrying out of the males house getting into her car missing the way Scott whispered the words 'I love you'.

Miah releases a whimper looking around her surroundings seeing the chaos magic inside her palms glowing brighter almost as if it's ready to explode from her veins.

AFTER SPENDING the rest of the afternoon by herself, Miah arrives at the school walking towards Lydia, Isaac, Parrish and Malia standing beside her strawberry blonde cousin.

Parrish opens the back of his car showing the four of them the machines he has been working on all day.

"We're betting our lives on these?" Malia scoffs picking up one of the small boxes.

"I think we're betting Hayden's life on them." Lydia mumbles.

"Yeah. Well... I'm glad I brought my gun." Parrish mutters closing the back of his car and walking inside the school.

Beginning to set up with the help of the other four who place the machines around the school hoping the plan goes smoothly.

Scott enters the locker room taking in Miah's familiar vanilla─ flowery scent placing the bag of chains he bought just incase before looking at her smiling nervously at something Lydia mumbled to her.

Liam, Hayden and Miah move one of the lockers in-front of the door blocking any access to the room they're currently in.

The mage hybrid winces hearing the chittering of the Dread Doctors echoing around the school announcing their arrival.

Miah looks around not bothering to let the others know for some unknown reason.

Scott looks over at the seat benches near Liam and Hayden taking in Miah's beauty once again for the third time that day.

Scott sighs feeling the anxiety radiating from her as she looks at her phone with a frown since she can't get into contact with her father and Mack for any updates.

Hearing a rustling coming from the doorway, Scott frowns standing up taking in the red glow on the lease sensing something familiar about the object.

"Scott?" Lydia voices snapping Scott out of the enchantment making him look at the strawberry blonde girl.

"I was just thinking. Since we can't use our phones... we can't check in on Stiles and Theo." Lydia explains nervously, "I didn't even think about that." Scott utters.

"Me either. So... we're standing here, waiting for guys in masks and breathing tubes to show up. But who or what, are Stiles and Theo waiting for?" Lydia quizzes scared sharing a mutual look with the true alpha.

THE BLONDE mage hybrid lays with her back on the benches dossing on and off due to her tiredness.

Said girl frowns hearing metal chains clinking from across the room seeing Liam holding chains in his hands from the bag Scott brought.

"What were you going to do with these?" Liam questions turning towards the alpha.

"Brought them just in case." Scott explains, "In case of what?" Liam questions confused.

"In case we had a chance to catch one of them." Lydia responds facing the irritated beta.

"If we can't make the school a fortress. Then maybe we can make it a trap." Scott suggests walking towards Liam.

"They're coming for her. Doesn't that mean she's the bait?" Liam inquires gesturing to Hayden─ who's looking at them shocked.

"Liam... we brought her here to protect her." Lydia states looking at the angry boy, "And now she's bait." Liam mutters.

"Am I?" Hayden anxiously questions, "No. No one's bait. But we can't be bodyguards to everyone every night." Scott responds.

"Then why aren't we talking to Stiles's dad? Why aren't we doing something better than hiding in a school?" Liam quizzes.

"Because we still don't know anything about them or what they want, okay? They're winning... and we don't even know what the game is." Scott explains.

"What if they come in here and those things don't work? What if you have an asthma attack again? What are we gonna do?" Liam snaps.

"I don't know." Scott murmurs with a shrug, "This plan sucks!" Liam exclaims.

"Finally. Something I actually agree on!" Miah voices shocking Scott and Lydia that Miah's taking Liam's side with this.

"You guys got a better one? Kids are dying. And she's next! So... somebody has to do something. Somebody has to save everyone. So somebody's got to be the bait!" Scott shouts looking at Miah and Liam.

Miah flinches in shock hearing Scott shouting at her with so much venom directed towards her and the beta beside her.

"Scott, promise me you'll do everything you can to save her. Scott, promise." Liam pleads desperately not wanting anything to happen to the girl he's started to fall for.

"I'll do everything I can. I promise." Scott responds lowly.

Miah watches as Hayden rummages through her overnight bag in a panic.

"Guys... I think I might need a little help right now. I forgot my pills. I have a bottle in my locker. I can get them. But..." Hayden states gesturing to the whole plan set around them.

"I'll get them. What's your combination?" Scott sighs, "Four-one-three-eight." Hayden responds.

Lydia and Scott hurry off outside the locker room leaving Miah sitting inside with Liam and Hayden holding onto her head in agony due to the thumping headache behind her eye sockets.

SCOTT WALKS through the school corridors watching his surroundings stopping at Hayden's locker beginning to open it before a rustling sound is heard coming from the classroom ahead of him.

Scott frowns seeing the red glowing leash following it into the classroom looking around the room with confusion.

"Miah?" Scott grunts landing hard on the ground due to Miah's black chaos magic hitting him from behind.

Miah stands behind him smirking in triumph tightening the glowing read leash around Scott's neck choking him.

"You know who I am, Scotty." Miah mutters in a distorted voice tightening the leash around his neck more.

"Mi? Miah. Stop!" Scott begs through choked breaths.

"I am the fairy of destruction and chaos. Mass destroyer of worlds!" Miah snarls with the same distorted voice growling as she uses her chaos magic to suck the life out of Scott's lungs.

MIAH STANDS in front of Hayden and Liam protecting them as the Dread Doctors continue their walk towards them.

"Mims, Hayden. Did you hear that?" Liam frowns overhearing the chittering coming from outside the locker rooms.

"They're here... aren't they? They're in the school." Hayden quizzes alarmed, "Scott? Lydia?" Liam yells.

"Stay behind me!" Miah orders taking in the sight of the doctors walking closer to them smashing the machine into pieces below their feet with the cane.

"We're on a frequency you can't possibly imagine." one of the doctors─ The Surgeon explains.

Miah growls flashing her blue were-coyote eyes at the three doctors noticing them tilting their heads at the sight.

"Success." the three doctors simultaneously mutters sending a wave of power towards them knocking all three of them unconscious.

The Dread Doctors take in the chaos magic glowing on Miah's palms and pick her up.

Along with Liam and Hayden transporting them to their lab desperately wanting to run tests on both Miah Martin-Hale and Hayden Romero.

MIAH CONTINUES tightening the leash around Scott's neck smirking at the loss of colour on Scott's face.

Said male snaps out of the hallucination with a frightened shout looking at Mason holding up the scalpel he just cut his hand with.

"Sorry. Sorry. I was trying to help. Liam said pain. He said it makes you human." Mason exclaims panicked seeing the look of fear cross Scott's vision while he looks around the classroom searching for Miah.

"What happened? What are you doing here?" Scott questions confused, "I found another Chimera. His name's Corey." Mason explains.

"Wait. Where's Liam and Hayden?" Scott shrieks rushing out of the classroom into the locker room noticing Isaac and Joel pacing beside Malia, "They're gone." Lydia utters shocked.

"Hayden and Liam are gone. They took Miah too." Malia reveals looking at Scott hearing that not only has his beta been taken alongside Hayden, but they've also taken Miah as well.

"Fuck!" Joel yells punching a nearby locker muttering profanities under his breath while he walks out of the school stressed for the safety of his eldest and only daughter.

LIAM AWAKENS from his unconscious state groggily looking around the area he's currently in seeing Miah unconscious and strapped to the table beside Hayden's collapsed figure on her own surgical table.

"Hayden. Mims." Liam weakly calls out, the dread doctor walks past Liam's figure on the ground putting the helmet back on his head before walking towards Hayden on the surgical table whimpering afraid.

"No. No, no! Don't! Don't hurt her! Hayden! Hayden!" Liam shouts panicked watching the doctors operate on the girl seeing her blood dripping on the ground below them while repeating her name three times.

Hayden eventually falls unconscious due to the surgery the Dread Doctors did on her.

Unfortunately for Miah... the blonde mage hybrid awakens with a wail escaping her throat.

While the Dread Doctors surround her and cut multiple wounds into her body looking at her promising condition.

Liam closes his eyes hearing Miah's pained desperate cries hating hearing every moment of Miah's torture by the doctors.

Miah gives into the darkness pulling her further and further into the state of unconsciousness just like Hayden beside her.

"Fairy of Destruction and chaos. Successful." the Surgeon exclaims proudly walking away from the three teenagers in the operating theatre.
