THEODORE'S POV

"Larry didn't call last night" one of my dad's right hand man said and I frowned.

Larry was sent by my dad to tail someone I didn't know and my dad's right hand man received the information.

But nothing had come from Larry in two days.

"You think they realized someone was following them?" I asked

"I doubt it, even if they did, Larry could escape unless he was ambushed" the man said and I just sighed.

"Okay, would you mind telling the old man?" I asked and he nodded.

My phone rang and I looked at the caller ID it was Eddie.

That was one call I wasn't hoping for.

"Yo Eddie, you get the job done?" I asked.

"No, all my men sent were killed and their bodies were sent to me this morning" Eddie yelled.

"What how?" I asked.

"It seems your innocent target belongs to a mafia, how could they know we were coming?" He asked and I frowned.

Vandel was clean as far as I knew.

I actually never did my research on him.

I didn't think he would be involved in the mafia after seeing that he lacked their tattoo.

How did he know we were targeting him, I didn't tell anybody.

Although part of me was glad he wasn't dead, most of me was curious.

Who was Vandel?

"Okay Eddie" I said into the phone.

"Plead with the old man for me" Eddie said.

"Sure" I replied and hung up.

I couldn't go see the old man like this, I would give Vandel a week to let his guard down before planning another attack.

My phone rang again and I looked to see it was my dad's secretary.

"What?" I asked rudely into the phone.

"Mr Davis has ordered you to come to his office" she said and I clenched my jaw.

"Tell him I'm busy" I replied hanging up before she could say anything more.

I headed over to the garage picking one of my favourite cars I drove over to Hayley's.

I wanted to see for myself how Vandel was and also observe the scene.

HAYLEY'S POV

Theo and I went our separate ways as we didn't have the same classes.

Joan and I had most courses together since we were studying the same course.

Entering my class I easily spotted her with her hair in a frenzy and her legs on the table.

"Hey" I said sitting beside her.

"No classes today seems the professor had something personal to attend to" she said and I sighed.

I could have stayed with Vandel more

But he probably won't want me there since Kelly was coming.

"Hey guys" we heard a voice behind us and turned to find Danny smiling brightly at us.

"What are you doing here?" Joan was the first to ask.

"I just came to see my peeps any problem?" He asked sitting on the desk behind us.

"I'm going somewhere else" Joan said standing up before fleeing the class.

Leaving me with Mr flirty pants.

"You coming for tonight's party?" He asked.

"No, what happened was a kind of once in a life thing" I said and he laughed.

"You're joking right, it's just a party" he said and I sighed.

"I'm not going Danny" I replied a bit rudely due to his earlier response.

"Okay chill no one is forcing you" he smiled.

"I actually came here to see you" he smiled brighter and I internally groaned.

"Okay you've seen me" I said and began walking away when he stopped me.

"I heard you're going out with Theodore Davis?" He said and I froze.

"Where did you hear that?"I asked.

"Different places, the rumours have been circulating are you really going out with him?" He asked.

"No, I'm not" I sighed.

I didn't even want to bother about this.

"You know he's bad news right, some people say he's involved in dangerous businesses" he said lowering his voice and I scoffed.

Theo and his boys might be intimidating and scary but I doubt they were truly involved in anything dangerous.

I mean Theo was sweet and goofy.

"You sure listen to a lot of rumours Danny" I said.

"It's inevitable" he shrugged before jumping down from the desk.

"Just be careful" he said with a small smile and I nodded.

"Guess I'll see you later then" he said and I  nodded while he left.

I had three more classes and I was done for the day.
