Chapter Six

"He's breathing"

The four vampires all had a frown on their faces. Kai walked into the room before moving to Taehyun as he looked at the student on the wooden floor. "I thought I killed him though..." Kai looked towards Taehyun who looked down at the floor.

"He's ice-cold...is this normal?" Kai asked, getting a hold of the student's arm. The youngest looked up at Taehyun who was now checking up on Jungwon. "He's breathing but he's shaking, his skin is stone-cold...he isn't conscious though"

"It's fine...they're like that....his type, I mean"

Taehyun and Kai's heads both turned to the door where Yeonjun was now standing, his hands on his upper hip.

"Humans?" Soobin asked walking to the male who scoffed and shook his head. "He doesn't get affected. He's just 'getting himself fixed' as I used to call it" Taehyun looked back at Jungwon. "I've bitten a few trainers, drunk from them...most of them had the same reaction; no breathing, no heartbeat at first but then it's just like them being reborn or something. He's cold cause the blood hasn't been through his entire body" Yeonjun explained, walking inside the room and opening the closet. "How do we kill him then-?" Taehyun asked, brushing his hair back. "We don't need to kill him! We can use him to our advantage" Yeonjun said, pulling out a pair of handcuffs from the closet. "He'll wake up soon enough. Even with that injured leg, it's best to make sure he can't get out" The male said, walking to Jungwon and grabbing his wrists.

"Since when did we have so many handcuffs-?" Soobin asked, confused. "When we escaped I just grabbed a bunch of them on the way out. They all use the same key so I have like four keys that can help to open them" Beomgyu said as he shrugged.

Yeonjun handcuffed the student before getting up and leaving the room. Taehyun and Kai followed him, locking the door behind them.

"Should we get Yeosang to come?" Beomgyu asked, looking at Yeonjun, who had his hand over his injury. The vampire sighed in response. "What else could we do? We need to go get more...Elas said he wanted as many as we can get. We need a distraction for the guards so the locked up vamps can be free" the vampire said before Soobin let out a quiet chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Yeonjun asked, his eyes now on Soobin. "Oh, it's just you never call him that...you know...Elas" Soobin said, looking down at the floor. "After Yeosang fixes this injury we're leaving, alright?" Yeonjun said, his eyes now focused on the wine glasses that were on the coffee table.

"We'll get them"

- Jay's pov

"Forgot my wallet!" Jake exclaimed as he suddenly appeared in front of us. "Where's Jungwon?" Heeseung asked as the male grabbed his bag and pulled his wallet out of it. "Stayed there...I'll be going! Be right back!" He said before leaving without another word.

I looked towards Heeseung as he shut the compartment door behind Jake. My gaze then went to the snow before I rested my head on the window.

"To be honest, I don't really wanna go home," I said, my voice quiet. "It's so lonely there..." I continued, looking up at the three who were sitting down with me. "We'll still keep in touch though! If you want we can meet up every now and then too" Sunghoon said, sitting back as I sighed.

"The problem is that we all live pretty far away from each other!" I huffed, looking down. Niki chuckled looking at me. "We'll come to visit every once in a while, don't worry about it. I'm sure the private teachers who work for your parents will keep you busy" Niki said making me laugh a little. "The lessons they give are so boring~" I whined, letting my head down on the table.

"Oh- we stopped," Heeseung said, looking out of the window. "That's weird- why so suddenly?" Sunghoon asked, confusion clear in his voice. "It could be the snow?" Niki said, looking at Sunghoon. "Maybe...I don't know" the male's voice trailed off as he looked away from the window.

"Hey!"

My head turned to the door of the compartment as I heard a yell come from outside it. "Yohan again? Is that guy serious?" Niki muttered, his expression now totally different. Heeseung looked out of the small window in the door. "He's yelling at someone again..." He muttered after letting out a hard sigh.

"Aren't Jake and Jungwon taking too long?" Sunghoon asked, changing the subject. "Maybe it's just crowded there...it usually is-" a sudden thud from outside made me stop talking. Heeseung let out a frustrated sigh before sliding open the compartment door and walking into the narrow corridor. I managed to get a glimpse of what was happening outside, where I saw some guy standing at the end of the coach looking at Yohan who was on the floor. I looked back at the guy who was now raising his head to look at Heeseung.

"Please can no one start a damn fight again? Some people here might want to rest!" Heeseung asked, pissed. The guy at the end of the coach let out a simple laugh before he disappeared. Yohan got up and looked around at Heeseung. "Where'd he go?!" The male yelled at Heeseung who was about to start walking into our compartment again. "I dunno. Teleported out of here" Heeseung replied, looking back at Yohan. The male then sighed and turned to us, about to walk into the compartment.

"Hey! Heeseung watch o-"

Yohan's yells were cut off as Heeseung was suddenly thrown back to the end of the coach. I, Niki, and Sunghoon immediately got out of our seats, now seeing the tall male again. "What's your problem?!" Sunghoon yelled, walking up to the male who pulled the cap he was wearing down. I ran over to Heeseung who was on the ground, trying to get up, beside the coach's door. Some of Yohan's friends were peeking in to watch from their compartment but I didn't pay much attention to them as they left the coach straight after.

Not a moment after, the male shot at Niki and Sunghoon who were beside him. Taking his cap off and throwing it to the ground the male now looked up, his face finally clear.

My eyes widened as they watched the male's red eyes glow before he grinned. I then looked to Sunghoon and Niki who were now getting back up. I looked at Heeseung who was now on his feet, in position to shoot. Before the Vampire could've done anything, Sunghoon shot at him, freezing him in his spot.

"Yohan! Go get a professor!" Sunghoon yelled just before the blood drinker broke out of the ice and shot at the male again, making him fall back. Yohan froze in his spot as he realized the male standing in front of him was a vampire.

"YOHAN, RUN!"

The male stood paralyzed in his spot until the vampire shot at him, throwing him back. The red-eyed male started walking towards me before swishing his arm in the air, making me shut my eyes tight as a strong shot of air hit my face. Slowly opening my eyes I noticed the male standing right in front of me.

Backing off, moving away from the blood drinker I suddenly hit something behind me. I watched as Niki started getting up, his eyes terrified as he looked at what was behind me. I gulped, too scared to look up. I was forced to look at what was behind me, however, the moment it held onto me, grabbing me by my collar. My eyes then met with another pair of red eyes.

The air powered vampire that was now behind me let out a quiet, barely audible, chuckle. My focus returned to the vampire who had his hands on me. He looked at me and without wasting a second turned me around, pinning me to the door of one of the compartments. Before the vampire could've leaned into my neck, Niki clenched his fists, breaking the door behind me, letting me and the vampire stumble into the compartment, falling onto the table inside.

As I felt the vampire's grip on my wrist loosen, I shot at him, freezing him in his spot. My gaze shifted to outside the compartment where I saw Heeseung looking back at me. Knowing I was trapped, the male snapped his fingers, making the glass of the window break. As I and the vampire in front of me ducked, I grabbed a big piece of the broken glass. The blood drinker then quickly looked up, the ice on him melting away making me realize he was a fire powered.

Not a moment after, the black-haired male came close to me again as I held onto the glass a bit tighter, making it cut through my palm a little, before I held onto the vampire's shoulder with my left hand, thrusting the sharp glass into the skin of the vampire.

I froze as I pulled the now bloodstained glass back, making the vampire fall back, hitting the wooden floor with a thud. The first vampire suddenly turned to me, before I shot at him, running to where the other three were. My gaze went back to the two vampires before they both suddenly disappeared, leaving the four of us alone in the coach with Yohan who was pretty much unconscious.

"What just happened...?" Niki breathed out, looking at the floor before looking up. "We gotta let a professor know about this!" Sunghoon said, running to the coach's door, about to leave when the door suddenly opened.

"Boys! What happened here, is everything alright? Did they get here?" Professor Park asked, scanning the area before looking at us. I watched as Professor Nam ran up to Yohan as Heeseung nodded. "Jay...he stabbed one of them...the two of them left after that" the male explained. "Are there more?" The question escaped my lips before I could even think. Professor Nam nodded as he carried Yohan up before laying him down in one of the compartments. "Quite a few actually," the Professor said looking towards me.

"Jinyoung you go look in the coaches while I stay here, I can't leave them here by themselves" Professor Park nodded as the fire defense teacher spoke. The Professor then left the coach before Professor Nam looked at us. The male then looked away back to Yohan, who seemed to be getting back to his consciousness.

I looked at Niki who walked back into our compartments, grabbing our luggage before coming back to us and handing each one us our bags. "What are we gonna do with these...?" Sunghoon asked the youngest, confused. "Just in case. At this rate we don't know if we'll even make it out alive, we need to be prepared" Niki explained, shrugging.

"What did they look like?"

My head turned to Professor Nam as the question escaped his lips. "The first one was kinda tall...dirty blonde hair..." Heeseung started, describing the blood drinker. I watched Professor Nam who looked down as Heeseung described the two vampires to him.

"One of them was a student here..." the Professor said, looking up. "Yeonjun...that's the black-haired one" he continued. "Do you know the other one?" Niki asked, looking at the Professor who then shook his head in response.

"Hey...you guys go stay with the other kids, They're supposed to be near the teachers' coach. It'll be pretty crowded but we don't want anyone getting hurt" The Professor said, getting up. "I'll come in a bit, you go first" he finished, getting a nod from me and the others.

The four of us started walking out of the coach to the teachers' one. "I hope Jake and Jungwon are okay..." Sunghoon muttered, looking down as we entered another coach. "I'm sure they're with the other students, where else would they be?" I responded, looking out the large windows. Niki sighed as we were about to enter the next coach, when suddenly Heeseung, who was walking in the end behind us, yelled out, making us all turn right him.

That same moment, the three of us shot at the creature that was now suddenly holding onto Heeseung, dragging him back. A cold hit of ice hit my shoulder suddenly, taking me aback before I had realized that wasn't just one vampire in the coach. Standing right behind the vampire who was holding onto Heeseung were two more vampires. Looking back at the blood drinker who was holding onto Heeseung, I realized he was the same one from earlier.

Shooting at the vampire again, he finally let go of Heeseung who straight away shot at the other two. My breath getting heavy, I ran to the other side of the coach, hoping it would help me distract the creatures. I was too slow, however, since one of the vampires caught up to me and pinned me to the coach's door, holding me down. I looked over to the train's exit before my gaze moved to Niki who was the closest to it. I fought back as the vampire started coming closer. Kicking him, I finally was able to let myself free from his grip. As I turned around, however, I froze, paralyzed as I saw the roaring flames in the coach we had just gone through. Realizing the fire could reach the coach we were in, I turned around straight away.

"THE DOOR! GET OUT NOW!" I shouted, shooting at the vampire once more before running to the exit door. Niki turned to me before he looked at me, confused. "Just break it open!!" I yelled at the confused male who then, using his powers, broke the door open. I and Niki shot at the two vampires who Heeseung and Sunghoon were dealing with, giving them enough space and time to come running to the exit. The two then ran towards us as Niki ran out, followed by Heeseung, Sunghoon, and me.

Using his powers, Niki shut the door again before the four of us ran away from the train rails, noticing the fire that was spreading fast. I looked to my side where I saw a bunch of students run out of the train as the fire spread even more.

The four of us were about to go with the other students when one of the blood drinkers suddenly appeared in front of us again.

"You thought you were gonna run off, huh?" The male scoffed as he flew up towards us. Using my powers, I picked up some ice from the ground, making it form into a big ball before shooting at the vampire in the air. As the male fell I and the other three took our chance to run off.

We stopped once we realized that we had lost him. I looked around, mesmerized by the nature surrounding me. "We're in the middle of nowhere" I heard Heeseung say, looking down. My head turned to the male as my focus now went to him. "We could try going back the way we came...?" Niki suggested. "No. The vampires might see us..." Heeseung responded, thinking hard. "So we stay here?" Sunghoon asked, looking at the thick snow beneath him. Heeseung sighed. "Let's try to find another way out of here"

So we started walking, not knowing where we were going. We were lucky that we still had our bags with us. We probably wouldn't have survived without them since we had a few bottles of water in them.

"What about Jungwon and Jake...? Are they still on the train?" Niki asked suddenly, making us turn to him. "They're probably with the Professors...they should be safe though" Sunghoon answered. "Do you think the vampires attacked Sunoo's train too?" I asked, stopping. "Nah, if that train got attacked we would have heard about it and would still be at school" Heeseung replied as I started walking again to catch up with them. Silence then fell between us and after a while of walking we stopped, realizing we might have just been going in circles.

"We're lost, aren't we?" I muttered before letting out a hard sigh.

"We're now lost in the middle of Chorworth forest!"

- Jake's pov

I slowly opened my eyes, groaning as I felt pain in my right shoulder. I looked around the room I was in before looking out of the window. It was probably dusk right now looking at the colors of the sky.

Realizing my wrists were cuffed to the bed, I bit my bottom lip, trying to think of a way I could maybe escape.

"Jungwon...?" I called the male's name out as I looked around searching for him. I heard no response. Knowing I was alone in the room, I scooched to the closet wall before calling out the male's name again. I still received no reply.

Just as I was about to turn back, I heard some noise coming from the room beside the one I was in. "Jungwon, you in there?" I called out for the last time.

"Jake...?" My eyes went wide as I heard Jungwon's voice on the other side of the wall. "Oh god, Jungwon, you alright?!" I asked, going back to the wall. "Well, I guess I am..." I sighed as I heard the male's reply. "We need to get out of here...are you also cuffed?" I asked, looking at my wrists. "Yup...can't you maybe use your powers?" Jungwon asked from the other side. "Using my powers will melt the cuffs...is that supposed to be helpful...?" I heard a sigh as I looked down and began to think.

It wasn't long before I had an idea, and it might have just worked.

I looked around the room, hoping to find what I was looking for. Finding nothing that can help me I sighed. "Is something wrong?" Jungwon asked. "No, I'm just looking for something" I answered, looking at the floor.

My eyes opened wide as I noticed a few boxes under the bed. "Wait, I think I got it-" I said, thinking of a way to reach the boxes. Using my legs, I reached one of the boxes and pulled it out from under the bed.

Bingo!

I grinned as I looked at the plastic straws I found inside the box. Beside them were some smaller cartons, probably filled with some drink, which most likely was blood.

Since my hands couldn't reach the box on the floor, I leaned down and bit the bag that had the straws inside, pulling it up to my hands before I held onto it. Taking a few straws out, I held onto them tightly as I started using my powers to heat up, making the straws melt as I started reshaping them.

If I do this right it should work...

After about a minute I loosened my grip on the straw before I tried putting it through the cuffs' keyhole. After a few tries, I was finally able to get it in. Using the old bobby pin way, I tried to unlock the cuffs. And at last, after several tries, I did it!

"I did it!" I called out, removing the cuffs from my wrist as I got up. "Great! Now you should find a way out of the room!" Jungwon said as I walked to the bedroom door.

"This should be easy" I mumbled to myself as I backed off, getting in position to shoot. I closed my eyes as I shot at the door, breaking it open. It was an old apartment, so the doors were pretty easy to break.

I looked around the living room, noticing me and Jungwon might have been the only ones home as the place was empty. I walked to the room beside the one I was in and smiled as I noticed the key that was still in the keyhole of the door. Unlocking the door and opening it, I went inside where I saw Jungwon waiting for me.

"Straws, huh?" Jungwon asked, grinning as he saw me pull the straw out of my back pocket. "To be honest, I was actually gonna go with something stronger but a straw worked so...!" I chuckled as I went up to the male, unlocking the handcuffs and throwing them away.

"Here, let me help you," I said, kneeling down, letting the male balance himself onto me. "Let's go bandage it up quickly and let's leave this place," I said, helping him walk out of the room, walking him to the living room where there was a first aid kit on the small coffee table. As Jungwon sat down on the sofa I pulled out a few bandages and started bandaging up his wound.

"Are you okay though...?" I looked up at the male and my eyes locked with his. "Yeah, why?" I asked, looking back down. "When you started yelling...earlier when you were fighting them, you looked like you were in pain, is it gone now?" I nodded, answering his question just as I finished bandaging up his leg. "It hurt, it doesn't anymore. I don't even know what happened...let's just leave now before they come back" I said, getting up and helping him get up as well. Balancing himself on me, we both walked towards the exit.

I opened the door and checked before going out as I saw no one. Shutting the apartment door behind me, I walked us both into the hallways then went down the stairs, leading to the exit of the building.

"We're in the middle of the forest..." I muttered, sighing as I looked around the endless trees. "Which way do we even go...?" Jungwon asked as I started walking again. "I don't know...let's just get away from here..." I said, walking away from the building.

After about twenty minutes I started getting tired and I stopped to sit down.

"You think they're alright?" Jungwon asked making me turn to him. "The other four I mean..." I bit my bottom lip."I dunno...I hope they are" I replied, sighing. "You got bitten..." I said, looking up at Jungwon's neck. "Yeah...I feel alright though even though he drank a lot..." the male answered, touching the bite. "Maybe we both didn't get affected?" I looked down again. "I dunno...let's go, they might find us if we're still close to the apartment building. Jungwon nodded as we both stood up again.

As we both started walking I started feeling cold. Not long after, I paused as my head started aching again. Jungwon looked at me, concerned. "You alright? We can stop if you're tired..." the male said, stopping as we both sat down again. "It hurts..."I hissed in pain, unable to control it anymore. "What hurts? Should I look for help?" Jungwon asked, trying to get up on his own.

"Go..."

"Go where...?" The male replied, confused but worried.

"Jungwon...just go!" I yelled, losing control over myself. "What? Why?! What's wrong?"

"JUST RUN!" I yelled one last time before I couldn't fight anymore, I screamed as I felt pain shoot through my chest. And then I looked up at the terrified male, my breath heavy as I grinned.

"Hello, Wonnie!"
