"Professor...?" I turned around as I heard Niki speak. "Do you know with which Professor Sunoo's with?" Professor Kim bit his bottom lip. "Sunoo...isn't here with us..."

"...he was bitten"

We all froze in shock as our eyes widened.
"What?!"
"He tried to defend himself but when he was using his powers they sort of backfired? I don't know what happened exactly I wasn't with them but one of the vampires was able to get to him" Professor Kim explained.
"Where is he right now?" Sunghoon asked, walking towards the teacher. "The bite wasn't that deep but they still took him to the hospital" the professor replied.
I bit my bottom lip as I looked up at the rest of the guys beside me.
"He'll...he'll be alright, right?" Niki asked from behind me. The professor nodded before taking a look at his watch. "We'll have to get you guys out of here fast..."
"Seungho!" My head turned towards the door where I saw Professor Rasahi calling Professor Kim. The tall male walked over to our Japanese teacher.
"Jungwon..." I turned to my left as my eyes met with Jake's. "Don't worry..." he started, smiling. "We'll be alright!" I smiled seeing his smile, but the smile just couldn't stay on my lips for long.
After two minutes Professor Kim came back towards us. "Get into pairs and then form a line...quick! We don't have much time and we gotta do this quick"
Jake stood with Jay, Sunghoon with Heeseung, and I was with Niki.
"Professor Kim?" I turned around to where the voice came only to see something I never thought I would see in real life. The creature was about 165 cm, his hair was just reaching his long pointed ears, and his eyes were an ocean blue color.
"Dalyon!" The professor smiled. The two greeted each other and then the creature turned towards us.
"Hi, I'm Dalyon! And uhh I'm an elf!" He said, giggling a bit.
Professor Kim cleared his throat. "The elves here would help us get back to the school building using their magic since it's more powerful than ours. You just need to be really quick when you walk out. It'll be like walking back to the school normally, the only different thing is that there will be a protection spell on the path to the school. So don't go using different paths and stay with whoever you picked as your partner, alright?" We all nodded and soon we were on our way out of the palace.
I looked at Niki who was looking around at the elves that were surrounding us. "He seemed sweet..." Niki suddenly said. "Who?" He looked at me, a slight smile forming on his lips. "Dalyon...he just seems cheerful I guess" I smiled a bit. "He does seem so" Soon we reached the school's building and were sent to our dorms.

- Jay's pov

It was around eleven pm now. I, and the other students, were supposed to be asleep by now but I was pretty sure no one will be able to get a good sleep tonight.
"Should we go ask about Sunoo?" Sunghoon asked, breaking the silence in the room. "I'm pretty sure that if he wasn't that hurt they wouldn't have kept him in the hospital for too long" he continued, looking at Heeseung who had just come out of the shower. Pulling a towel out from his closet, Heeseung started drying his wet hair. "What about we go to Niki and Jungwon and then we go ask if we can see him together?" Jake suggested, joining the conversation. "Yeah, let's go to their room first, maybe he's already there and we just don't know yet," I said, getting up and walked to the door. After the rest agreed we all headed towards the maknaes' room.

We knocked on their door and Niki came and opened it for us before we went inside.
Their room was the same size as ours but it looked a bit bigger. The white wall from Jungwon's side of the room was filled with pictures of him and his family at gatherings, Niki's side had posters of popular dancers, and Sunoo's side had pictures of him and his mother with a few sketches too. His mother was sort of an artist and he always would put up her art on his wall.
"You're still awake?" Jungwon said as we came in. "Yeah...didn't Sunoo come here yet?" Jake asked, sitting down on Niki's bed. Jungwon shook his head as he sighed. "We shouldn't be too worried, Professor Kim did say he was alright and hopefully we'll see him by tomorrow if we don't see him now," Jungwon said as he let himself fall onto his bed.
"What even happened...why did the vampires escape all of a sudden...?" Niki asked, staring up at the white ceiling as he lay down as well. "Everything just happened so sudden-" the youngest's voice was cut off as we all heard a knock on the door. The door then opened and we saw no one other than Sunoo peek inside.
"Sunoo!" We all jumped up in one go as we saw the male who was now shutting the door behind him.
"Hi...!" He chuckled a bit after looking at our faces.
"Are you okay?!"
"I'm alright guys! Don't worry it was just a small bite" he said, walking to his bed and sitting down. "Small bite? That looks painful though" Sunghoon said, looking at the bite on his neck. "I wasn't affected since the vampire didn't drink much" he smiled as he looked up at us. "Why are you guys so worried!? I swear, I'm alright!" He chuckled and Heeseung sighed. "You scared us, you know. Don't go fighting vampires next time you see one, alright?" Sunoo smiled and nodded before looking out the window. "Do you think everything'll be alright though?" He asked, his smile now fading away. Jungwon bit his bottom lip. "I don't know...we'll just have to wait and see"

- Author's pov

It was past midnight now, the moon was high up in the sky, the stars surrounding it. In the past few hours, everything had changed, and it was all because of him. However, he didn't feel any guilt. This was what he wanted. This is what he had been waiting for all those years.
He stood under the moon, letting its light reflect on his bright red eyes. On the floor beside him, was a man. The man looked like he was in his late twenties, or maybe his early thirties. Blood was staining his pale skin and the grey suit he was wearing. The blood drinker kneeled down beside the human and sighed. Another one had gone. He had killed another human.
"They're so weak, those filthy humans," he said, his voice was deep and low. "Jian, how many have been released?" The blood drinker asked. "Twenty-one of them have been able to get out, the rest...I don't know if they'll be able to escape..."
The vampire looked at the smaller creature in front of him, waiting for him to continue. "The humans have doubled the number of security guards so now it's harder for the others to be able to get out..."
"Those humans think they're able to stop us, don't they?" The blood drinker scoffed as he shifted his gaze to look at the man on the floor.
"Take him away from here...I don't want to see another one of those nasty creatures" The vampire ordered before walking away.
The cold air brushed through his silver hair as he walked through Potenia's largest forest. He looked up at the moon and then looked back down, a grin forming on his lips.
"Tonight...was just the beginning"

- Jungwon's pov

I was laying in bed, so many questions running through my mind. It was now on,y us three in the room, the others had left since it's too late.
"Jungwon...?" I turned to my left as I heard Sunoo's voice. "Hm?" He looked at me then looked at the window above my bed. "Isn't that sky?" I turned to look outside when I saw my family's owl standing on the windowsill. "Yeah, it's sky..." I replied to Sunoo, getting up and opening the window for the owl. Sky came in and immediately transformed into his human form.
He was tall and kinda thin, his dark brown hair had always been messy even though he tries to make it look neat countless times, and he had a pair of jeans on with a black t-shirt.
"Jungwon! Sorry for coming late...I should've come here earlier..." he scratched the back of his head as he looked into his pockets, pulling out an envelope. "Your mother wanted me to give you this," he said passing me the envelope. "Have you guys been okay?" He turned around to look at Niki and Sunoo. "Yeah, we're alright. Is everything alright outside?" Niki replied, coming closer to the creature. "No, not really...more vampires have managed to escape and now they're spreading all over Potenia" Sky replied, his voice getting quieter. "Well, I gotta go...stay safe, alright?" We all nodded as the creature transformed into his owl form again and then flew out.
"What does the letter say?" Sunoo asked, his gaze fixed on the envelope in my hand. "I don't know, I'll read it now" I responded as I started to rip the envelope open. Inside was a small sheet of paper that was neatly folded and placed into the envelope. I pulled the letter out, opened it, and read what my mother had sent me.

"Hey, Jungwonie,
I'm sorry I can't be there, by your side, right now. The school sent us a message informing us of what had happened a few minutes ago. Your father and I are trying to help as much as we both can. We both miss you very much. Please just stay strong, you can get through this. Hopefully, the people who work at the VTC catch all the escaped vampires before they spread too far.
If anything happens make sure to stay hidden well. Use your powers not defend yourself if you ever need to. Those creatures are merciless, try your best to stay safe and hidden.

- Mum

"It's nothing too important...just mum checking up on me," I said, after being met with curious faces. The two sighed and each went to lay on their beds.
As we each lay down on our beds, I couldn't stop thinking of the many questions that were racing in my mind.
"Sunoo...?" I started, my voice quiet. The male turned his head to my side. "Did...did the bite hurt? Does it still hurt?" I asked as Niki turned to us as well, listening in, waiting for Sunoo's answer. "Yeah...it doesn't hurt right now that much but when the vampire bit me it was very painful...but I'm okay now" he answered, smiling in the end, to reassure me that he was okay. I gave him a soft smile back.
"I'm still so curious about it, though..." Niki said, turning to look at the ceiling. "Why so suddenly...?" Sunoo sighed. "I don't know...but something must have happened at the VTC..." I let out a sigh as I turned off my lamp. "I'm gonna go to sleep...you two should try to sleep too," I said, smiling a little before the both of them said goodnight and turns off their lights as well.
Somehow, even with the millions of thoughts I had in my mind, I was able to sleep pretty fast. When we woke up the next day things were the same as the day before, except it was just getting worse...

        "What we study and what we are told are two totally different stuff- there's so much here that's way different than what I know-" Heeseung said, flipping through the pages of the book in front of him.

        Heeseung, Jake, and I were at our school's library, searching for some books about vampires. We did study about them in our study of breeds class about a month ago but it wasn't that much information, just the basics.

        "Half vampires aren't always like full vampires. A half-vampire isn't immortal like a full vampire and usually, they aren't as powerful as full vampires" Heeseung read out as his eyes scanned the pages. "Full vampires usually can drink more than half vampires. For example, a full vampire can kill 3 humans in one go when a half isn't able to do such a thing. A full vampire also has more control over his or her bloodthirst than a half and that's usually the main reason it takes longer to train a half blood-drinker." I peeked over at the next page as Heeseung reached the end of the page and started reading.

        "Training a full vampire isn't very common since most of them are just unable to control their thirst, making it impossible to train them. Training a vampire takes up a great amount of skill, the trainer has to be very careful with the vampire they're trying to train since they don't know when the vampire will attack them. It also takes up a lot of time, trainers could spend hours every day trying to help the blood-drinkers control their transformations and thirst."

        "Now, what happens if a trainer gets bitten? well, usually it isn't that much of a problem since most trainers are born with a rare ability to not get affected by bites, such as ones from werewolves, vampires, and Orenangs (a creature that lives in the sea, has a body similar to a mermaid's, however, unlike actual mermaids they are deadly and can kill any regular human in a few minutes), etc."

        "Unaffected?? how?" Jake asked, tilting his head as I stopped reading. "I don't know...well we know some more stuff than the basic stuff we studied last month. Let's go get lunch and then we can rest cause I'm tired" I said, picking the books up. "Alright! you guys go I'll be with you in a bit I just got something to do" Heeseung said, passing the book that he was holding to Jake. And like that, we left the library.

        "Did you find anything interesting?" Jay asked, taking a bit of his pizza slice. "Yeah, but most of the stuff wasn't that deep information" Heeseung replied. "Out of topic, but I heard some kids saying that we might be sent home if the situation gets worse seeing how the amount of vampires has multiplied just last night," Sunghoon said. "Well, will going home even change anything...?" Niki asked, looking at Sunghoon. "We will be able to see our family," Sunoo said, his voice just above a whisper. "We don't know what will happen so it's best we are with our families instead of being here, far away from them" he continued, letting go of his spoon and looking up, his face blank. "You're right...we shouldn't be away from them at a time like this..." I answered.
Before anyone could say anything else, Sunoo stood up. "I'm going back to the dorms, I don't really feel like eating," he said, giving us a forced smile before starting to walk away. "Wait Sunoo!" Jay said, making Sunoo turn back around. "Hm?" "You alright? You don't look so good...you didn't even eat anything" Jay asked, earning only a dry chuckle from the male in front of him. "I'm fine, I'm just tired, I didn't get much sleep last night, I wanna also go do stuff so, yeah...I'll be in my dorm if anyone needs me," Sunoo said before giving us a wave and walking away again.
Jay looked at me and Niki. "Did something happen last night?" I shook my head "No...he wasn't like this in the morning when we first woke up..." Niki answered, looking at me. "I'll go check up on him..." I said, getting up. I then left the table and started walking towards the dorms.
I opened our room door and saw Sunoo sitting on the floor, beside his bed. "Sunoo? You alright?" I asked, getting no answer. "Hey, if something's wrong you can tell me," I said, going to sit beside him. The male gave no response. I sighed as I scooched closer to the male.
I sat there in silence, hoping my presence would make him feel just a bit better. As I was about to look down I noticed a crunched-up paper next to the Sunoo's desk. Now becoming curious, I went up to the paper and picked it up. Opening it up, I realized it was a letter. My eyes widened as I read what was inside.
"Sunoo...you aren't thinking of going with him are you...?" I heard the male scoff. "Why would you think I would even consider going with that bastard?" Sunoo turned to me, his face pale and blank.
"He wants me to go live with him as if nothing had happened a few weeks ago back at home...he really thinks I forgot..." I looked down, not knowing what to say. "Sunoo, you don't have to live with him if you don't want to. Just ignore the letter and if we'll go home you can just go straight back to you're mother's house" I said after I quickly thought of a reply. "He'll then go to my mother's house and he'll do exactly what he did last time! It won't work I've tried ignoring him but it never works!" The male now yelled, his eyes tearing up.
"Hey, calm down...I don't know if you wanna talk about it but maybe it'll help...I'm here to listen," I said as he looked back down, holding his knees close to his chest.
"I don't even know how to talk about it...no one even cares to listen to my mother's cries for help whenever she tries to get him arrested...she doesn't even speak up anymore since she's scared of what he might do" the male paused, taking a deep breath in. "She knows what he'll do if I go live with him, so she's just trying to do everything she can just to keep me safe. But I wanna help her, I don't want her hurt...not after everything she's done for me. I wanna go back home to her...but I'm scared he might come after me just to make me go with him again...I don't want him to hurt her the way he did last time..."
Not knowing what to say, I just went to him and hugged him. I didn't know what his father had done, but if it hurt him this way, then his father probably did the worst he could do.
Sunoo pulled away and gave me a small smile. "Thanks...I know you can't do anything about this, but thank you," he said, earning a smile from me. He then wiped his tears away and got up. "Uhh, would it be okay if you didn't mention any of this to the others...?" He asked. I nodded and smiled. "Don't worry I won't say anything. Now, go wash up, I'll be here if you need me" I said as he flashed me another smile before entering the bathroom

        "Got anything?"

        "Nope, not yet. You think we'll find anyone?" no reply was heard but a sigh.

        "Let's go now and come back later...at night. I know the security would be more, but we can make the other three come with us. I'm sure we can manage by ourselves" The first voice said. "Alright...but Yeonjun...if we get in trouble for this you take responsibility I had nothing to do with this" the second voice said. "Alright, coward" the first voice, Yeonjun, replied, chuckling. "shut up, let's just go before we get caught"
