~Chapter 43~
--- Error's POV ---
After being crept up over the fact that Ink didn't have a soul, I sat down on the sofa, flicking through the TV channels to keep my mind off it. However, it came back and lost my concentration entirely. He had to suffer every day by taking pills which give him fake emotions. The thought of it made shivers ran down my spine.
I decided that I shouldn't waste more time by stressing myself over something small. I got up to get myself a shower while Horror and Dust hopefully wake up from their coma. Since Killer was already awake, I went to check up on him.
I knocked on the door gently as I heard footsteps gradually louder as he came towards the door. The clicking noise of the lock opening and I saw Killer in new clothes.
"Nice clothes you got there," I said smirking while he looked at me embarrassedly.
"Yeah...What happened when I was knocked out?" he asked.
"Well, Nightmare placed a forcefield around the entity. We then brought it back to Red's house where we learned that Nightmare can't sleep or else the forcefield fades away. Thankfully the officers came to the house cause Red's brother is apparently Fell; the one we saved at the mansion. He offered to sneak into the mansion to get the spell book to get rid of it. During that time, you, along with Horror, Dust, Dream, Lust and me went to this apartment which the police department own," I explained as Killer looked at me confusedly.
"You never explained why Nightmare and Dream were so important?" he asked. I hesitated to myself, debating whether I should tell. I made up my mind as Killer was one of my trusted men so I sighed confidently.
"Yeah. Make sure no one hears, especially Dream," I sighed as I continued. "They are the current President's sons..." I muttered.
"WHAT THE F-," I instantly slapped my hand over his mouth from saying anything further.
"Every time you fail, that's making me trust you less!" I hissed at him silently as he nodded and pushed my hand off.
"How?!" he asked, completely shocked over the news I said.
"Their dad - aka the President - left them when they were really young because they were a high target for criminals to get answers from the President himself. Therefore, he left them to keep them safe, however, he didn't fund money to them, in case someone found out he was paying money from his bank into their mum's," I explained, Killer understanding what happened after that issue.
"Wow... No wonder you were saying that calling him names could potentially make us go to jail," Killer uttered in realisation. I nodded until I heard the shuffling of footsteps going away from the corridor behind me. I looked back to see who it was but there was no one. Possibly it was Ink, still high on those pills for emotions.
I got myself cleaned and I was once again back in the living room, waiting for the others to come back from freeing Geno from whatever was possessing his body. Then I heard a loud alarm coming from behind me. I looked over to see a device on Lust's police belt flashing red. Lust came rushing into the room and picking the device.
"There's an emergency... at Geno's house?" Lust looked down in concern.
"Seems like Horror and Dust won't be waking up so we'll need Dream to heal them along with Killer since they'd freak out. Let's go now," I said as quickly ran to the hallway. "Killer stay here and don't break anything!" I shouted as I ran out of the door that Lust had opened.
"We don't need to worry about hiding your identity. We'll go in the police car," he stated as he got the keys out, opening the car. Once we were in, we were already off to the house. Please don't tell me that the spell didn't work... I thought.
Once we were at the destination, we got out and Cross was already waiting at the door.
"What's the issue?" Lust asked hurriedly.
"Yeah. Your father kidnapped Geno's mum," Cross stated, telling it to me.
"That son of a bitch..." I growled as I pushed past Cross and into the house.
"The note is in the kitchen..." he said as I headed off to the kitchen. In there I saw Geno hyperventilating while Reaper was trying his very best to calm him down. Another skeleton wearing a lab coat and glasses was there as he held the letter.
"Hand it over," I demanded. He quickly handed it to me, with a shocked expression.
"You're...his son..." he stuttered.
"I don't classify as my father so I have no relation with him," I hissed at him. He backed up a little while I read over the note. I furrowed my brows in tension, thinking of a reason why he would do something as idiotic as this. Then something clicked in my mind.
"Who was the person that put the spell on him?" I asked.
"Most likely your dad," Cross said, leaning on the door frame with Nightmare standing right beside him.
"Do you think he may have done this?" I asked, possibly coming to a conclusion.
"No." a voice which I did not want to hear again echoed behind me.
"What do you mean by n-," I stopped as I saw an exact replica of Geno standing beside him. Reaper was taken aback by the sudden appearance as everyone stayed still quietly.
"What I mean by no is that his father was the one that put the curse on," the entity said, pointing at Geno, who was uncomfortably calm about a replica of him standing right beside him.
"But Geno. I thought your dad died in a car crash?" Cross asked appalled.
"Yeah. That's what I thought so too..." he mumbled as I saw the bright crimson eye-lights from the entity staring at me.
"Now what's the plan?" Nightmare asked.
"We have to leave you in a safe place for starters but the main plan is to stop whatever he's doing," I concluded. A ringtone was heard as I saw Cross fishing his phone from his pocket. He answered the phone in a formal manner until I heard the worried answer over the line. That's when Cross's face dawned with dismay as he looked up.
"Guys. Dream's missing,"
