Roommates and Goblins
Skyra and Cerberus dash up the stairs, Skyra tripping a few times. Cerberus doesn't wait for her, using his nose to find the door, seeing it cracked open. His ears perk. "Skyra!" He yells back at her. Skyra pales and runs to the door, swinging it open as a kitsune girl opens up a circle.
"No!!" She cries out. Too late, the goblins burst from the circle, making the fox girl squeak in surprise and fall back as the green-blue furry soccer ball sized monsters scatter, leaping on Cerberus and Skyra.
"Get off of me!" Cerberus snarls, tearing them off himself as Skyra falls back and they start to drag her down the hall.
"No! Bad goblins!" She gasps, trying to claw away from the strong little monsters.
"Idiot, what the hell are you doing?" Law's voice snarls as something wraps around her ankle and lifts her up upside down. She looks at her ankle to see it was his tail before meeting his sharp silver eyes that were now glaring daggers at her.
"S-sorry!" She yelps as the goblins run down the halls and disappear. Law lets out a snort and drops her, making her land on her head. "Ow.." She whimpers, sitting up as Cerberus chases the fox girl out of Skyra's room. Law strolls into the room, looking around. "U-um, what are y-you doing Law?" She asks, getting up and going to the doorway. She was praying she wouldn't be sharing a room with the abusive, short tempered demon.
"What kind of girl are you rooming with?" He grunts, looking at the things that didn't belong to Skyra. She briefly wondered how he knew what wasn't hers.
"Not a girl actually," A male voice speaks up behind her she whirls around to see Sabo as he offers her a smile.
"Looks like we'll be rooming together Miss Skyra," He rumbles with a slight bow.
"E-eh?!" Skyra gasps in shock, blushing slightly. A growl from Law and Cerberus sound, making her cringe. "Cerberus, b-be nice to our roommate," She tells the wolf. He glares at her before stalking to a bed and jumping onto it before promptly falling asleep on it. "Guess we're taking that bed..." She mutters, giving Sabo a nervous smile.
"Hold on, you're not sharing a room with him," Law growls, tail lashing. Skyra blinks at him in surprise.
"Oh? And who are you to decide that? I do hope you aren't her boyfriend," Sabo comments calmly. Law's lip curls.
"A weak woman like her? Never." He growls before stalking out, leaving Sabo and Skyra in a tense and awkward silence.
"Sorry about him, he's always grumpy," Skyra says sheepishly, unaffected by Law's cruel words. "That's why he and Cerberus get along... I think..." She adds quietly, earning a growl from the keen eared wolf. Sabo blinks in surprise at her, was she so used to the abuse that she could recover so quickly? Then again, this was easier to deal with than her crying.
"Ah... I'll keep that in mind..." He says awkwardly. Skyra glances at him and awkwardly rubs her neck before going to the barred window and looking out. Had to admit, this was a better view then her aunt's attic. She briefly wondered if her family would even be aware that their outcast daughter/niece was gone.
"If they found out..." She trails off with a mutter and sighs. Cerberus cracks an eye open at her.
"Come on, I'm hungry," The wolf says getting up and drawing her out of her thoughts, "And it stinks in here," He adds, shooting a glare at Sabo. The blond frowns at the wolf's hostility.
"U-um, would you like to come too? You must be hungry since I know you did all the planning for the train hijacking..." Skyra says with a small friendly smile. Sabo blinks at her in surprise.
"You know this is all my fault and you're being nice to me?" He marvels. Skyra shrugs.
"I should've been paying more attention to my surroundings. It's my own fault for being on the train, not yours," She points out quietly. Sabo smiles a bit.
"You sure are different... But I am hungry, so let's go," He says straightening up. Skyra relaxes and smiles back, not hearing Cerberus' disapproving growl. She opens the door and leads the way out only to stop and look around.
"Um... Which way is the cafeteria again?" She asks sheepishly.
"I believe this way," Sabo muses, taking the lead. Skyra falls in step with him, looking at all the odd rooms and halls. Cerberus trails behind, not happy with Sabo's presence. He perks as they start down the stairs.
"Skyra!" The wolf suddenly barks, making her look back and not see goblin which suddenly grabbed her ankle, effectively tripping her. The wolf moves to catch her arm but Sabo easily and smoothly catches her by the waist, leaning down and pulling the goblin off her ankle and calmly tossing it behind them.
"Careful," He murmurs with a smile. Skyra blushes and pulls away, retrieving her footing.
"Th-thank you Sabo," She murmurs, before focusing on going down the stairs again.
"Not used to being saved like that?" He teases lightly.
"No... Cerberus hates having to save me all the time so he usually draws blood..." She admits quietly. Cerberus growls and suddenly bites her arm, making her yelp and wince. "Sorry..." She murmurs.
"I'm still here," He reminds her harshly. Sabo frowns as Skyra nurses her now injured arm. Its bad enough her other arm seemed like it needed to be treated but now both?
"You know... I might know a minor healing spell that could help with those. I'll show you once we reach the cafeteria," He comments looking ahead. Skyra looks over at him and relaxes.
"Um... Th-thank you..." She murmurs. Sabo just shrugs in response. Skyra smiles a bit.
Well, at least her roommate was nice....
