Luke: I cleaned it up! (grins) Before I came along, Professor only had Rosa to help him, but when I got here, it became sparkly clean!

Ayame: Amazing! (eyes sparkle)

Luke: Hehehe... It's nothing much!

Hershel: (smiles)

After falling through their portals, Lizzy and Ayame had ended up in Victorian London, where they met Professor Hershel Layton and his faithful assistant, Luke Triton. Lizzy and Ayame had also figured out the other's identity, which was Ayame being a fictioner, whereas Lizzy's a non-fictioner.

Right now, the 4 of them are at Hershel's apartment, where Lizzy and Ayame are adapting to their surroundings while drinking some tea Luke made.

Hershel: (sips a bit of his tea) Splendid tea as always Luke.

Luke: Thank you Professor! I decided to mix a few types together, and they taste great! (drinks his tea carefully so as not to get his tongue burnt)

Lizzy: Agreed!

Ayame: Green tea is healthy for us, so mixing that with chamomile, an antioxidant, makes it great for our body! It's a neat and creative idea!

Luke: (flushes in embarrassment) Stop it! You're making me blush!

Hershel: (chuckles) A true gentleman always accepts a lady's compliment. It would be rude not to, Luke. 

Luke: A-Alright Professor... (turns to Ayame) T-Thank you for the compliment, Miss! (bows) 

Ayame: It's okay... Erm.... (suddenly blushes) A-Ah... S-Sorry... I forgot to ask... W-What are your names?....

At that, the two blink. 

Then they go red in the face. 

Hershel: W-We apologise.... We were so caught up in your appearance that we forgot our manners... My name is Professor Hershel Layton, esteemed puzzle solver. 

Luke: And I'm Luke Triton, as you've already heard! I'm his faithful assistant! 

Ayame: I'm Himeno Ayame! (smiles) Nice to meet you! 

Lizzy: And I'm Lisa Blueton! But call me Lizzy! Lisa's just too girly for me. 

Hershel: I see. I apologise for my rudeness upon your choice in lifestyle. 

Lizzy: It's okay. I don't mind. (grins) You didn't know. 

Luke: Thanks!

Lizzy: It's no problem. I'm used to those kind of comments. 

Ayame: (blinks) Really? 

Lizzy: Yep. When I was a kid, a lot of people teased me for being the daughter of police chiefs. They tried to provoke me into crying, and bullied me when I didn't. 

Ayame: (winces) That must have been very painful. 

Lizzy: It was the first time. I came home a sobbing mess that day. 

Luke: Ouch.

Hershel: How did you get back to your feet then?

Lizzy: Well, my dad helped me. The moment he got home and saw me, sniffing with my red eyes, he immediately dropped his coat on the floor, grabbed me and took me to the living room, where he sat me down. Then he asked me what was wrong. Once I told him, he just gave me this small smile before he said, "Lizzy, life is full of obstacles. You can't give in so easily to it, because they are there to help you learn and grow better. That's why I believe that you will be able to overcome this obstacle." (smiles) Those words gave me the determination I needed to fight off the bullies. 

Ayame: Woah.... 

Luke: You're just like Frisk! 

Hershel: Indeed. Your determination is commendable. 

Lizzy: Thanks- (suddenly stops) Wait, did you just say Frisk? 

Hershel, Luke: (blink, then freeze) (think: Uh oh.) 

The scene ends there, with Ayame and Lizzy looking at Hershel and Luke, while the two cover their mouths.

(The music starts playing as Natsume Amano turns into Shuka's awakened form, then Akino Kin opens up the game system as Ryaku Mizuya opens up his Magical Gates and Young Aruke Kin activates the Nature power.)

Episode 18: Of Gentlemen and Kaima

Lizzy: You know Frisk from Undertale?!

Luke: Erm.... Erm....

Hershel: (looks away)

Ayame: How? (stares at them) I-It's not possible.... Right?

Hershel and Luke look at each other, before Hershel sighs in defeat.

Hershel: Lying would be ungentlemanly, so I suppose we must tell you the truth.

Luke: (eyes widen, turns to him) P-Professor! Leader would kill us if you did that!

Hershel: He would understand my reasoning. He knows about my beliefs.

Luke: (mouth opens and closes like a guppy, before he sighs) Fine, Professor. Just make it quick if you can.

Hershel: (smiles a bit) A true gentleman never tries to rush, but makes it simple and quick.

Luke: (chuckles) Always the gentleman, huh, Professor?

Hershel: But of course. After all, I wouldn't be me if I didn't.

Luke: (sweatdrops) True.

Ayame: A-Ah..... A-Anyway, h-how do you know Frisk?...

Hershel: (drinks some of his tea) Well... To put it simply... We're part of the Supernatural Rescue Squad.

A shocked silence follows this revelation, mainly from Lizzy and Ayame.

Lizzy's eyes are huge in disbelief, her mouth open slightly as she stares at the two, while Ayame is covering her mouth, her eyes conveying her feelings on the truth.

After a while, Ayame breaks the silence, but in the most unexpected way.

Ayame: (eyes sparkle) I can't believe it! The SRS?! I'm a fan of you guys!

Hershel, Luke: E-Eh? (tilt heads)

Ayame: Because all of you work so hard to keep the multiverse safe! You believe in true justice and redemption! Because of you guys, a lot of bad people could change to be better!

Luke: (sweatdrops) But we don't do much, to be honest. We just help others.

Hershel: Agreed. We are just trying to do the right thing.

Lizzy: And yet the SRS is known as one of the most well-known detective groups in the multiverse.

Luke: (modest) It's really nothing! We just do our best! After all, hard work always pays off!

Lizzy: That's true! I always believe in that! After all, as  Thomas Alfa Edison once said, "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."

Ayame: (nods) A wise quote from a wise person!

Hershel: Indeed. Great people always have wise quotes. 

Ayame: You guys are great people too! I wish I could solve mysteries and cases like how you do!

Luke: (blinks) Eh? Why? 

Ayame: (looks down) Well.... When I'm on cases with the rest of my friends, I'm always on fighting duty... I can't ever be smart enough to solve it..... That's always Touma-kun or Natsume-chan.... (looks up, determined) That's why! I want to learn more on puzzle solving so that I can help them!

The two Britons look at each other. 

Hershel: What makes you say that, Ayame? 

Ayame: Well... Our current case... The Book Burning case....

This time, Lizzy, Hershel and Luke look at Ayame, shocked, before Hershel thinks about it.

Hershel: There might be a case related to this one, now that I think about it... 

Luke: (looks at Hershel) You're thinking about that case, aren't you, Professor? 

Hershel: (nods) Indeed I am, Luke. 

Lizzy: Huh? What case are you talking about? 

Hershel: (takes in a deep breath) The "Forbidden Book"'s Disappearance. 

Ayame: The... Forbidden Book? 

Luke: (nods, serious face) A very dangerous book about how to destroy protagonists.

Ayame: (eyes widen) D-Destroy protagonists?

Hershel: Yes.

Luke: It was written a long time ago by a man called Tomako. He was a Fate Changer who was stripped of his status after he let World War II happen. As revenge, he wrote that book in hopes that someone would "reboot" (uses air quotes) the world so the world would become darker.

Lizzy: (goes pale) You have GOT to be kidding me. The world is already bad as it is with all the crimes. Making it even darker could be catastrophic!

Ayame: (shakes head) It would be apocalyptic.

Hershel and Luke nod, showing that Ayame was right. 

Lizzy: Then we have to get back and find who it is! 

Ayame: Agreed!

Hershel: We can help you with that, if you want. 

Luke: We have a friend who can help you get back!

Ayame: Really?! (eyes sparkle)

Lizzy: Awesome! Please help us then! (bows)

Ayame: (does the same) Please! 

Hershel: (chuckles) Of course! After all, a true gentleman would always help a lady. Luke, please help me get the watch.

Luke: Right! (rushes off) 

Ayame: Eh? What watch? 

Hershel is about to speak up when... 

BOOM!

The group is thrown to the ground as the building shakes for a while. 

Lizzy: (groans) W-What hit us? 

Ayame: (rushes up, gets to the window, swings it open)

Ayame's eyes widen as she spots a certain Youkai wielding her staff. 

Hershel: What's wrong?! (rushes to the window as well, forces it open) 

His own eyes widen in shock as he spots the Youkai as well, but this time, his face grows pale. 

Hershel: T-That's....!

Luke: (rushes back in) What happened Professor?! 

Hershel: I-It's her.... 

Lizzy: (rushes to the window as well, goes pale the moment she sees the Youkai) U-Ubaune...? 

Luke: W-What?! (joins them, his eyes widen in shock) T-That can't be! 

But it is. 

Standing there in all her huge glory... 

Was Ubaune, the former leader of the Kaima Youkai. 

Hershel: T-This can't be happening....! 

Luke: We have to get out there and fight her! 

Lizzy: Wait! Don't you think that there's something wrong with her appearance? 

Ayame: R-Really?... 

Luke: (blinks, leans in) Now that you mention it, you're right. She looks... Different.

Hershel: (grim tone)  A dark version of her normal colouring. 

Lizzy: And the more darkness in one's heart, the stronger they are..... (looks away) And the harder it'll be to purify them...

Ayame: (eyes widen)

She then remembers Jorogumo, who was thought be bad, but, in the end, was given her chance of redemption.

Ayame: (grips her fists) I-I don't believe so! (looks up at them)

Hershel, Luke, Lizzy: H-Huh? (turn to her)

Ayame: I-I believe that light is always there to accompany the darkness! S-So let's not believe that no one is unredeemable! 

The trio look at one another, before Hershel gives off a smile. 

Hershel: Ayame is right. We must not assume the worst of ladies. That is just ungentlemanly. 

Luke: Right!

Lizzy: Thank you for reminding me of that, Ayame. 

Ayame: (smiles) It's nothing. I just felt angry that you would think so. I have a friend who was just like Ubaune. 

Lizzy: Jorogumo, I guess?

Ayame: Yep! She was just misunderstood and needed a little push to the right path. 

Lizzy: (smiles) Good point. 

Luke: Come on then! 

Hershel: We must keep London safe!

Lizzy, Ayame: Let's do this!

The group look at one another, nodding before they rush out of the apartment and onto the streets. 

They find Ubaune at the park, causing havoc and making people scream in fear. 

Hershel: Stop right here, Ubaune!

Ubaune?: H-Huh?... (turns around to see the four of them get into battle stances as they stop in front of her)

Lizzy: Time to fight!

Luke: Let's do this! 

Ubaune?: (sees them, notices the watch now on Hershel's wrist, eyes darken) A Youkai Watch... 

Ayame: (blinks) E-Eh? (turns to look at Hershel's wrist, eyes widen) W-Wait hold on! Isn't that?! 

Lizzy: (turns to look as well) What's wrong- (freezes) W-Wait... That.....That's a Youkai Watch..... 

An OG one, nonetheless. It is the Youkai Watch U1, strapped to Hershel's wrist snugly. 

Hershel: Indeed it is.... 

Luke: Do you know of Youkai? 

Ayame: Y-Yeah... 

Lizzy: I've never actually met them in person, but I DO know about them.... 

Hershel: I see.

Ubaune?: That won't change anything! (snarls) I won't let you humans win! 

Lizzy: None of us are ready to lose here, though! 

Hershel: Luke, take this! (takes the Youkai Watch off and tosses it to Luke) Use it to summon some friends! 

Luke: Got it! Be careful! 

Hershel: Of course! After all, a true gentleman never worries his friend!

Lizzy: (grins) Noted! 

Ayame: (nods) On it!

Ubaune?: (growls) GET READY FOR A BITTER END! (charges for them)

Lizzy: Not happening! Magical Gates Open! (eyes glow yellow before she is surrounded by an aura, jumps to the sky before an aura sword forms) TAKE THIS! (stabs the sword into Ubaune?)

Ubaune?: (screeches, stumbles backwards)

Hershel: (takes out a sword from his belt, rushes at Ubaune? while she is distracted, stabs her leg)

Ubaune?: (snarls) 

Ayame: My turn! (forms a heart) HIYA! (punches it towards Ubaune?) 

Ubaune?: (manages to jump to the air, dodging it)

Ayame: (grips her fists in anger, thinks: Why?...)

Luke: (notices, looks worried) Ayame... 

Lizzy: We're not done yet! (summons magical swords) Sword Rain! (points the swords towards Ubaune?, kicks all of them one by one)

Hershel: Agreed! (rushes to a bench, uses it to jump to Ubaune?)

Ubaune?: As if I would lose to you pests! (swings her staff to deflect the attacks)

Hershel and Lizzy are sent flying to a building, with the swords dissipating to the ground.

Lizzy: A-Argh...

Ubaune?: You're goners. (tries to lunge for them)

Luke: Not so fast! Summoning, Begin! 

A light glows from the watch as Luke takes out a medal.

Help me, my friend! The Great Fighter, Gamanmosu! 

Luke then inserts the medal he has into the watch, causing the light to grow as the Gouketsu tribe song begins to play. 

ゴーケツ！ソイヤ！ゴーケツ！ゴーケツ！ソイヤ！(Gōketsu! Soiya! Gōketsu! Gōketsu! Soiya!) 

Then, the Youkai appears in front of Luke.

Gamanmosu: Gamanmosu is here!

Luke: Gamanmosu, please help us fight Ubaune!

Gamanmosu: Of course! (lunges for Ubaune?)

Ubaune?: (growls)

Lizzy: W-Wait! 

Too late. Ubaune? screams in pure rage before she slaps him to the wall as well. 

Gamanmosu: (winces)

Hershel: G-Gamanmosu!

Lizzy: No way!

Luke: (eyes widen) J-Just a single slap... 

Ayame: (looks down, thinks: I-I want to help.... But...) (her hands are shaking) 

Lizzy: (growls) W-We won't lose to you! 

Hershel: Agreed! 

Ubaune?: Hmph! How foolish of you! (swings her staff again, this time an attack comes out and hits Hershel, Luke, Lizzy and Gamanmosu, injuring them even more)

Ayame: G-GUYS! (looks horrified)

Luke: Agh... (stumbles as he tries to get up from the ground)

Ubaune?: TIME TO END THIS-

Ayame: NO! DON'T DO THIS! PLEASE! 

Ubaune? freezes slightly as she hears that, but soon snaps back to her senses, slowly turning to Ayame.

Ubaune?: SHUT UP! (enraged, throws an attack towards her) 

Ayame: (blocks with a shield) L-Leave my friends alone! (thinks: I need a strategy to keep everyone safe! But how?....)

Hershel: (notices the look on her face, turns to Luke) Luke! We must help Ayame realise! 

Luke: (turns to look at Hershel, nods) Agreed! (turns to Ayame, takes in a deep breath).... AYAME!!!!!!!

Ayame and Ubaune? are caught off guard hearing that, turning to look at Luke, who's breathing heavily from the shout. 

However, he still has the power to form a determined look on his face. 

Luke: You're wrong about yourself, Ayame! You're not just a fighter! You're a smart person too! Intelligence isn't always about academic smarts, it's also about knowing what's right and what's wrong! It's about knowing when someone can be redeemed or not! That's why..... THAT'S WHY, DON'T EVER LOOK DOWN AT YOURSELF LIKE THAT EVER AGAIN, AYAME, BECAUSE YOU ARE A GREAT PERSON!

Ayame's eyes widen after hearing that.

Luke reminds her of Akino and the rest.... 

Who she missed dearly, despite having known them for only a few days....

Her eyes soon grow determined as she looks at Luke, a small fire glowing in her eyes with little tears appearing as well.

Ayame: I can't believe that I never saw that.... (wipes her tears away) You're right, Luke! I believe that Ubaune-san can be redeemed! (looks back at Ubaune?) I will purify you, Ubaune-san! No matter what! I promise on Kino-nii and the rest! 

Ubaune?: (eyes become saucers) Y-You...

Ayame: (gets into a battle stance again) COME ON, GUYS! LET'S END THIS BATTLE! 

Lizzy: (grins with a smile) OH! 

Hershel: A true gentleman would never let a lady fight all by herself! 

Luke: Neither will one let a lady stay chained to her darkness!

Gamanmosu: We won't lose this time! 

The rest slowly join Ayame, standing proud and tall in front of the towering Ubaune?.

Lizzy: Let's do this! Once more, Magical Gates, Open! (makes some swords and passes them to Hershel and Luke)

Luke: Thanks! 

Lizzy: It's nothing! 

Hershel: Let's go! 

Ayame: On it! (makes a huge heart, punches it towards Ubaune?)

Hershel: Lizzy, Luke, toss me up!

Lizzy, Luke: Got it! (both use their hands as a step for Hershel before throwing him up with all their might)

Luke: Can you help me too, Lizzy?! 

Lizzy: Of course! (grabs Luke, jumps to the sky with him) Let's end this! 

Ayame: Alright!

Hershel: Ready?! 

Luke: Yep!

Gamanmosu: Mosu!

Lizzy: Then let's go! 

All: OH! 

The group all send out their attacks to Ubaune?, combining them to form a HUGE one that soars through the sky towards Ubaune?, hitting her spot on. 

She is then sent back flying, hitting a wall and groaning in response. 

Hershel: (drops down with the rest) Is she okay? 

Ayame: (walks over) Maybe? 

Ubaune?: Urgh... (grunts in pain)

Suddenly, to everyone's shock, she slowly dissipates into black dust. The dust is blown away by the wind, making it seem as if it had just disappeared. 

Hershel: W-What the... 

Lizzy: Does that mean that we beat her...? 

Ayame: (shakes her head) No.... This wasn't a victory, per se. This was a tragedy... (looks down) She could have been saved... She could have been better... 

Hershel: (nods, takes off his hat) To honour a death that could have been prevented. 

Luke: (nods somberly)

Lizzy: (looks up) Then we make sure this wasn't wasted. We beat whoever started this and avenge her. 

The rest look at one another before they nod. The fire of determination is burning high in their hearts. 

Lizzy: (checks her LS, blinks) Huh... I forgot that I had a teleportation magic all along.... (sweat drops) 

The others fall down anime style hearing that. Lizzy just laughs seeing this before she activates her LS. 

Lizzy: (quickly opens a portal) Alright, time to go! 

Hershel: It was nice meeting you. 

Luke: Come back when you have the chance!

Lizzy: Of course!

Ayame: Thanks for your help! 

The two just smile, which is reciprocated by the other side as they step through the portal, leaving the world behind. 

Meanwhile, in the ムゲン地獄 (Mugen Jigoku = Infinite Inferno), in a prison cell there, Ubaune smiles softly.

Ubaune: Thank you for believing in me.... 

Then, she is surrounded by a bright light. 

The screen is cut there. 

Akino: Yame-chan! 

?????1: Whoa, you guys know of them too?!

?????2: We need to beat them without much damage, though. 

Ayame: Come on, let's end this! 

Tadeoniu: This is amazing!

Reaper: I've learnt a very important lesson with him. 

???????: Time to find out who you truly are!

Lizzy: Eh? 

Movien: Don't look down on me!

We're slowly getting closer to the rising action, which is great! I'm really hyped to finish the story once and for all! What about you all? Are you guys excited?
