today's the day
my poetry shared
beyond the comforts
of Wattpad
my face shown
a pen name matched
to the face

worries arise
anxiety higher and higher
the curtain opens
applause silence

recalling a poem
from the filing cabinet
a longer one of mine
more of an impact

once said and done
applause reach my ears
a smile reaches my face

alas my imagination
running wild
a slap to the face
forced back so quickly

eyes read maybe skim
oh well for I do not care
the number of views
votes and comments
just a number in my book
