It's not that I have lost
the will to write
but in this darkness
I see no light

my pen is out
all paper is gone
inspiration vanished
just can't go on

time to push back this chair
walk away from the desk
leave this darkness
join the rest

into the light
no more straining
cast the words aside
take up painting
