" Are u kidding me, David ? You made me cross a street in drenching rain at midnight to tell me you are leaving tomorrow? " I say in disbelief, as I stare at the man sheepishly smiling, his hand on the steering, gripping it.

" I wanted to tell u but was unsure of how you'd react" He says, rubbing his back of the neck.
" We are going to get married in three months. Why can't we move together to Paris ? "  I ask.
" Dad has been stressing a bit lately. I need to take care of our branch over there. I will be back after 9 weeks."
" I understand but .... Why didn't tell me that on the phone? It's not good to be out in rain at midnight."
" I want to spend my last 18 hours with you."
" It's not like you are gonna die."
" Well , it is gonna be long distance the next two months. It's a slightly tough change for me after years of long distance. "
" Last 18 hours in Florida with Cara. Sounds good. But it's not good for you to come now."
" It's raining..."
" Well , I can see that...I was scared that something happened to you."
" Get out of the car once. "
" David , it's drenching out there. "
" Just once. Trust me."

As I get out of the car , the rain drenches my white dress in a few seconds. As I look at the man responsible for this , he takes my hand into his. The car headlights are the only thing illuminating the road. The road is entirely deserted. The only thing that can be heard is the pitter-patter of the rain and ..... A slow music starting to play.

" Would u like to dance with me , my lady ? " He asks as he bows. A stupid smile spreads across my face as I realise what he's doing.
" Yes , my love. " I say as my hands lie on his shoulders , his hands on my waist.

We slowly dance across the street , getting wet every second as our eyes get sunk into eachother's.

" Why are you so stupid? " I ask, my eyes fixed on his.
" Stupid in love, aren't I ? "
 
My cheeks get warm at his words , my heart fluttering just like it did when we first met, 5 years ago.

" I can't wait to get married and have kids with you, David. " I say as he spins me around.
" I will make sure you enjoy every bit of your life with me , Cara. "

The music ends as well as our dance as a kiss like a cherry on top.
" Thanks to you , I am gonna catch a cold tomorrow. " I remark at him as we get into his car. " I think I am ruining you car. "
" No worries. I can take care of that. Get yourself dry. " He says , handing me a towel from the backseat.

" What's all this ? " I ask him.
" This is one of the things in your bucket list. "
" You remembered the list I sent you...?? "
" Ofc yes. Why wouldn't I ? "
" It was like , months ago."
" So what ? Guess what .. "
" Mm ?? "
" You will get most of our bucket list things crossed out by the time I get on the flight. "
" You mean..?"
" Be ready by 4 am tomorrow. "
" What ? " I chuckle.
" Suprise! " He says.

Dance and kiss in the rain. Done

Thanks to him , I can't fall asleep the entire night. I fall asleep as soon as I get in the car. It is around 5:00 am when we reach the destination.

" Are u serious? " I ask , still unsure if I am listening things. " What do u mean you need to hike now ? "
" That means we have to hike now. " He says as he starts walking.
" Is it gonna be worth it ? " I ask , struggling to shake off my sleep.
" Totally ! "

It is 6:00 am as we reach the top.
" The sunrise viewpoint" I murmur , out of breath.
" You wanted to watch a sunrise with me. This is the best place. "
"Oh god , darling. " I say , happiness consuming me.

Our hands interwine as we watch the sun rise , lighting up the sky slowly.
" This is one of the best mornings I ever had , my love" I say , letting my head rest on his shoulder.
" I am glad you are happy"

" This is so sweet.. thank you." I say to a random stranger who took a wonderful shot of us both, staring at the sunrise. He gives us a Polaroid of it.

" You both looked so sweet. I couldn't help it ." He says as he smiles at us.

" The photo's amazing. The polaroid is going to be with me." I say , storing it in my backpack.
"I won't argue. Things are far off safety with me. " He says , to which I couldn't help but laugh.

Watch the sunrise together. Done

" No no babe .. I can't. I was just kidding. Please leave me alone. We can do other activities." I beg as he drags me .
" Trust me , this is gonna be soo fun. "
" No , Let's go back! We still have things to do .. WE NEED TO LIVE. "
" I am with you. It will be all good." He says.

" Three... Two... One ...." The staff countdown as they push us.
" NOO !! I WANNA BREAK UP WITH YOU, YOU JERK " I scream as I hold on to the same jerk for my life.

" I never knew bungee jumping was this fun , baby. Thank you for this wonderful memory. " I sweetly smile.
" You were going to kill me few minutes back. " He says , as he takes the photo from me.
" I look like a freaked out cat. " I laugh.
" Look at how you are holding onto me for your dear life. " He says for which I roll my eyes.
Go bungee jumping. Done

We stop at an ice cream shop nearby. " I want chocolate." I say , as he buys one. We sit on a bench as we start eating.

One cup ,two spoons. Done

" I am sure this is gonna share the crap out of me. " I say , as we get the tickets.
" Idk why your bucket list is so random."
" It's because I love you. "
" That doesn't add up."
" You won't understand. Let's go. "

We settle in our seats , me clinging to him , being scared before even watching the movie.

After thousands of muffled screams ,mini heart attacks , sightings of hell , The movie finally ends.
" I nearly was dead because of you. " He says , mimicking me.
" Shut up , idiot."
" Make me , will you ? " He asks , smirking .
This man never fails to make me blush.

Watching a horror movie together. Done.

We go to a nearby restaurant for lunch.
" Today was so fun so far." I say , looking at the menu.
" It will become more interesting after lunch. "
" What are the plans? "
" You will get to know them soon."
" I just can't understand you sometimes."
" What do u want to order ? "
" Cuban sandwiches ,....."

" Wow !! Photo booths are my fav , honey." I squeal.
" I know , love. We are gonna get a lot of pics ." He says , winking at me.

After half an hour of being stuck with me in the photobooth , David finally gets tired of taking photos.

"Last pose 😁" I say , showing him the most appealing smile.
" Ok.... The last.." He says , looking at me with a done face.

We split the pictures. Few with him and Few with me.

Photobooth. Done.

"Let's have a competition. The one with more fishes win." I say , getting my fishing rod ready.
" It's obviously gonna be me." He says , smirking.

Catching fishes is a secondary thing but I am sure we insulted eachother for a thousand times.
It ended up with me being wet.

"Come on , you pushed me into the river." I say , giving up.
" No , I didn't. The fish dragged you. " He says, finally taking a break from his 'laughter'.
" I hate you. " I say , getting up.

He wraps his hands from behind as he murmurs , " I am sure that 'hate you ' has more love than 'love you.' "
" Get lost ", I say as i head to the car.
" I already got lost in your eyes , Cara." He says , running after me.

Go fishing. Done.

We finally end up on the beach to view the sunset. We walk along the shore , hand in hand as he cracks the most lamest jokes of all but I laugh... Maybe I fell deeper in love with him.

Everything fades out .. All I know is I am admiring the way he looks in the golden light , the way he talks.. The way his eyes sparkle looking at me..

" I love you , David." I say , zoned out.
He stops talking and looks at me. A small smile forms on his face as he pulls me in for a kiss.
" I love you too, Cara.." He says, gripping my hand tight.

" Can we already get married? " I say , really meaning it.
" We are already married through our hearts. The wedding's just a physical proof." He says , looking deep into my eyes.

I really want someone to capture this moment in a camera. But I am sure this exact moment will live rent free in my heart.

Walk along the shore during sunset. Done.

We end up at the outskirts at night. Surrounded by trees , just us , a little camp fire , a lot of fireflies. We are roasting marshmallows.

" When is your flight ? " I ask , eating.
" In a few hours.. at 11 pm. " He says.
" Oh , we should get going then."
" No problem, i will start at 9 "
" What bout me ? I will come to drop u off ."
" No, It will be late for u while returning back. I am not taking the risk."
" Come on, David. I am coming with you."

He sighs heavily. " I can't argue with you. I definitely need that goodbye hug." He says , chuckling.

We stargaze for sometime , lying on the grass , me lying on his chest as his arm is wrapped around me. We point out constellations and argue for sometime.

" We must definitely need do this again someday." I say , hearing his heartbeat.
" I will do this everyday for you." He says , kissing my forehead.

This is the best day I ever had !!

Go camping. Done
Stargaze. Done.

I hug him tight , my eyes welling up.
" Just two months and I will be back." He says , hugging me back.
" Will be waiting for you."
" We will get married and have the most beautiful kids."
I chuckle as I wipe some of my tears.

" I love you . Goodbye. " I hug him again , this time , longer.

He kisses me goodbye as he glances at me one last time before boarding.

I smile and wave at him.
His smile , something I adore a lot ...

After 6 yrs..

" Why didn't you marry him ? " Andria asks , concentrated on my ultrasound.
" Maybe God planned something different." I say , my eyes on the monitor.
" Different? " She asks , snapping her eyes at mine.
" Maybe..... Those were really his Last 18 hours with Cara. " I say , tears rolling on my cheeks.
" You mean ...? " She asks , hesitating.

" His plane crashed."

" What are u guys talking?  Sorry I was late , Sweetheart. How's my baby doing?" My husband, Arson barges in through the clinic door.

Hello there. sorry for the climax haha. Sorry for the late too. I have been kinda burnt out lately. You might find this chapter kinda boring so I spiced up the climax. You don't know what fate planned you , so make sure you spend with ur loved ones girls.... Cara's last hug to David... If she hasn't bid him goodbye , Imagine her regret. Just like that , you don know when you part ways with ur frnds , you don't know when u will again get to talk irl with your long distance bestfriends and all... So even you are busy , spare some time guys !! It means a lot !! Now I parted ways with my friends after 10th , I wish our goodbye was special, I wish we had more memories... I am regretting so bad.... Hope u get the message girlies...
