Kol had walked into Kayce's room only to see her mid-spell. He having learned the hard way knew better than to interrupt his twin when she was in the middle of a spell, so he made himself comfortable on her bed and waited for her to finish so that he could ask her some questions and find out what was going on.

Kol lay there on Kayce's bed for probably 30 minutes before she pulled away from Bucky, dropping the spell she was doing, "all right, that is where we will stop for tonight, that way we don't overload your mind, it's still very fragile and we don't want to overdo it... we will pick it back up tomorrow but we will get there, it'll take a bit but," she tapped his head lightly "we'll get your memories back, I gave you my word and that's not something that I do lightly so I will stand by that." Bucky nodded hearing what she said but not saying anything as he was still processing the memories that had been unlocked in this session. "You should get some rest, it's going to be a tiring few days, with me messing around in your head like that... I'll take you to a guest room you can sleep in." The original led him to the room across the hall from her. "I am right across the hall if you need anything or if I'm not in my room, I'll be downstairs."

Bucky nodded at her "okay... thank you Kayce."

She smiled at him "you're welcome... there is a bathroom right through that door" she pointed at it and I am sure that one of my brothers will have some clothes that will fit you... I am going to take a shower and then I'll look into it."

He nodded and she left the room and the first thing she noticed was Kol sitting on her bed, "Jesus how long have you been there?"

Kol smirked at her teasingly "45 minutes you were in the middle of your little spell and I knew better than to bother you while you are working on a spell so I chose to wait for you."

She sighed "normally I would have known you were there as soon as you walked into the room... I always knew... guess the twin bond only works when you're in your own body... It still just feels empty... let me take a shower and then we can talk more okay?"

"Of course K... I've got several questions for you."

She smiled at him and grabbed some clothes and headed into her ensuite to take a shower. Kayce felt much better once she had showered, she got dressed and brushed her hair, and walked back out into her room, "all right one more thing and then I'll answer your questions okay?"

Kol nodded "of course what is it?"

"I need some clothes that will fit my friend, think you can help me find something?"

"Yeah, I can do that K. I'll be right back."

Kayce nodded "thank you."

Kol smiled at her and walked out of the room, to find his sister some clothes that her friend could wear. He came back about five minutes later with a couple of different things "all right, K your friend should be able to find something that will fit in these, and then later we can take your friend shopping."

Kayce smirked, "okay thanks Kol, but only if we steal Nik's black card, it's the only one that's unlimited."

Kol laughed "sounds like you know that from experience... but deal we will lift it off him and go on a shopping spree."

"See Kol, now you're speaking my language, we will get Bex in on it she loves going shopping with me."

Kol grinned at her "ask Freya to come to you could use it as a way to get to know our older sister."

"Oooh, good call... I am going to take these clothes across the hall for Bucky, and then when I get back I'll answer your questions." she grabbed the clothes and headed across the hall, she knocked on the door and then heard the shower running so she just brought the clothes in and left them on the bed and then went back to her room.

Kayce dropped down on her bed beside Kol, "okay so questions?"

Kol chuckled and nodded "first where have you been?"

Kayce sighed laying her head on her twin's shoulder, "okay so Nik had called me about the whole Dahlia thing, I had been in Washington DC visiting a friend, one of my oldest friends actually, I was on my way back to help with our psychotic aunt when I had stopped for a snack and then I ran into this really rude younger vampire who I killed and then these people surrounded me they were all wearing black tactical gear and had big guns not that they would have done any real damage to me, you know I gave them a warning and they ignored it so I killed them all but I was distracted by killing them that I didn't notice the one that snuck up behind me, that one injected me with vervain enough that it would have killed me if I wasn't an original so it knocked me out for a while and I woke up with anti-magic handcuffs on that was fun. So after that, the guy that was in charge showed up and told me they wanted me to be the face of their organization... I declined of course and then they locked me in a cell."

Kol looked down at her "how did you get out then?"

"I'm getting there Kol, so after that, they had someone guarding me, sometimes they would be inside the cell with me and sometimes just right outside the door, but they tried to torture me into complying with what they wanted which failed, the first thing they tried was waterboarding me which is a method of torture that you and I invented. It didn't work so they threw me back into my cell and this time the man that they had guarding me was in the cell with me and he didn't have his mask on like the first time and I recognized him... I looked into his eyes and I knew him, but the way he looked at me, just blank cold eyes he didn't know who I was and until that point, I had my humanity off, I couldn't take not being able to feel the twin bond, it was driving me crazy so I completely turned it off... It was better for me to just not feel anything at all."

Kayce paused to make sure her twin was keeping up, Kol nodded at her "so seeing whoever he was forced you to turn it back on is what I'm getting from that?"

Kayce nodded at him "that would be correct, you remember me telling you about James? After you were undaggered in Mystic Falls?" Kol nodded and Kayce continued "well it was him... figures you and him would be the only ones that could get me to turn it back on and until that point, I thought he was dead... I still don't know exactly what happened, he doesn't remember, they used electroshock therapy to wipe his mind, anytime he started remembering anything, I do know that much, and trust me it's not fun, because they strapped me to the chair too and tried to use it to get me to do what they wanted but with my healing, it didn't have the effect they wanted... so I convinced him that he knew me because he did, he was probably the only one that knew me better than anybody else, with you being the one that knows me that well."

Kayce sighed before continuing her story, "so after that, we worked up a plan, we bided our time and then we put our plan into action and escaped, I left behind a bloody massacre, anyone that crossed our path ended up dead..." she looked up at her twin and spoke in a softer tone, "I didn't care what they did to me, they died because they hurt him... I told myself once I knew that he was alive and figured out that they had done everything they did to me, to him, that when I got free I was going to make it rain blood and I did exactly what I said I was going to and then once we were out we stopped at a motel for the night and then came here."

Kol nodded "so your friend across the hall is him?"

Kayce nodded "yeah, the spell I'm doing is to help get his memories back, I gave him my word that I would help get them back and I fully intended to do just that."

Kol nodded "and just like me and Elijah you don't give your word lightly so if you give it then you keep it." he got no answer from her, Kol looked down and smiled noticing his twin asleep with her head on his shoulder. He chuckled to himself and kissed her on the head laying his head against hers, falling asleep not too long after that himself.

Elijah walked through the living room noticing Kol's absence "has anyone seen where Kol disappeared to?"

Freya shook her head she was looking through a grimoire, Rebekah laughed giving her brother a look "have you checked Kayce's room?" Freya looked at her baby sister confused since she wasn't there when Kayce came in "usually if you can't find Kol and Kayce is around, you'll find him stuck to her side."

Elijah nodded "right." then he walked towards the stairs.

Freya looked at Rebekah "when did Kayce get here?"

"She arrived while you were out, you'll get to properly meet her tomorrow." Freya nodded and the two sisters followed, Elijah upstairs. He cracked the door slightly and saw the twins sleeping against each other, the suit-wearing original smiled. Rebekah and Freya peeked in as well and saw the same thing. After that, they left them to sleep not bothering them.

"We aren't going to be able to separate them for a while." Rebekah looked at her eldest sister "thankfully you don't have to meet Kayce without her humanity, which was turned off the last time I saw her, Kayce and Kol have always had this bond and it's been something that they've both felt all their life and then suddenly it was gone and Kayce couldn't take the absence of the bond so she turned it off so she didn't have to feel it, she said that it was better for everyone that she just didn't feel anything at all."

Freya nodded she had read about twin bonds but had never seen one before. "I've read about twin bonds before, there are several different kinds, which kind do you think they had?"

Rebekah shrugged "I don't know, but I do know that they could always sense when the other was near, and they could feel each other emotions if the emotion was strong enough and they've always been able to communicate with each other through looks, not saying a word... they were a pair, they balanced each other out... if you hurt one, then the anger of the other would rain down full force on you... the rest of us were always a little envious of their bond, they were each other's, best friend, and other half, and they understood each other in a way that no one else could."

Freya nodded taking in the information Rebekah had given her as they sat back down on the couch, "it would appear that they had the strongest type of twin bond, from what I've read about them... it's no wonder Kayce didn't want to feel the absence of the bond she's felt it for over a thousand years and then to have that ripped away like that, it must have been very painful for her."

"That is the only time that I'm aware of that Kayce has ever completely turned it off... Nik said that it was eerie seeing her so devoid of emotion, he was the first to see her after she turned it off. He had gone to yell at her for killing his doppelganger until he saw her face it stopped him in his tracks, in the end, he realized that the death of the doppelganger was Kayce's way of avenging her twin. It was the only time I've ever known him to just let it go."
