Wendigo

"I don't want to spend another night here." You huff an annoyance, heading for your room.

"Bad idea..." Law reminds you.

"Don't care, I miss the night." You respond bluntly. "I can enjoy it too, not just those beasts." You finish getting ready to go, pulling on a cloak and applying the perfume.

"... Be careful..." He sighs.

"Will do," You respond.

It's been a few days since been Vampire Central, and although you had no reason to venture out at night you had the urge to. Leaving the house, you breathe in deeply enjoying the cool air. You knew where you wanted to go, a small noodle shop in the territory of the Kitsune. You liked that part of the city, but it was crawling with ghouls and demons- not to mention the occasional werewolf.

Humming quietly to yourself, you take the back alleys there, stepping onto the lantern lit streets. The bustling of the creatures in the district was a bit uplifting to you. You go into a building near the edge of the territory. Going to the bar, you offer the cook a smile.

"The usual Zeff." You murmur. The ghoul blinks at you before smiling.

"Been a while ___." He says starting on your order.

"Haven't been this way in a while," You agree, "Law insists it's too dangerous."

"Well... He's not wrong." Zeff points out lightly.

"I know, but there's no life, hiding in fear..." You breathe, resting your chin in your palm. "Besides, your food is worth dying for."

"I suppose you have a point... And I'm glad you think so highly of it...." He pauses, peering at the door. You follow his gaze as a large and familiar Pureblood comes in. Your eyes widen at him as he comes to the bar sitting a few stools away.

"But brother katakuri! A thief was in the house and stole from you! How could you not be mad!?" Questions a vampire girl with sky blue eyes and long jet-black hair tied up in pigtails comes skipping in after him wearing an old school girl outfit. Katakuri? You swallow lightly. They were talking about you?

"Stop calling me brother." He responds lowly.

"But why?" She pouts, "We live together don't we?"

"Yes, but I'm not willing to kill siblings, and you keep stomping in dangerous waters." He responds coldly, tossing the vampire a bone-chilling glare that even made you shrink away and look ahead.

"So cold Katakuri... No wonder Purebloods are so rare when you kill everyone." The vampire huffs, moving away carefully. There is a brief silence, making you glance over at him. Magenta eyes stare back at you, making your heart jump.

"Bold..." He murmurs before looking at Zeff. "The usual please."

"Right away sir." Zeff nods, sending you a confused look as he places your bowl before you.

"Thanks Zeff." You smile calmly, making him seem more confused. This was an odd predicament you were in, yet for the moment you felt like you could relax.

"So I heard you had a run in with some ghouls a few nights ago." Zeff murmurs as he starts work on Katakuri's meal. He was keeping his voice down to keep the attention from you.

"I didn't kill any of them." You huff, looking at him briefly.

"I'm aware." Zeff smirks a bit, "And I must thank you, my son was with that group and he left after the incident." He admits. His reddish eyes flicker to you before he turns away to add something to Katakuri's bowl. You blink at his back before looking down at your food, smiling a bit

"Glad to help." You murmur.

"Trouble..." Katakuri sighs you glance at him and confusion, then the door to the building swings open.

"Hey guys, I've been looking everywhere for you!!" A familiar voice chimes. You cringe slightly looking over your shoulder as Ace approaches some ghouls and vampires. The blood from your face leaves as you see his pupils slit.

"Shit..." You whisper

"A-Ace! What's up!?" One of the ghouls manage uneasily.

"Nothing much, just looking for some bastards that stole from my vault." Ace chimes with a dangerous tone, his eyes ignite with a fiery glow. The ghoul's clothes catch fire at that.

The ghoul cries out as his comrades jumped to their feet. "Bastard!" A vampire growls, lunging at Ace along with a ghoul.

"You may want to step to the right." Katakuri murmurs. You instinctively do so just before a ghoul is tossed into the bar. You blink at him as he straightens with the grit teeth

"Damn demon." He snarls reaching into his coat and starting to pull out an odd looking blade.

'Nope!' You unsheathe your dagger, swiftly lodging it into his chest. There's a pause around you as you take the odd blade from him. You look over to meet Ace's slitted pupils.

"Thanks ___!" He chimes, catching the odd blade you toss to him.

"Dammit Ace." You sigh as gazes pin on you.

"Is that a..."

"Human!" The vampire that had came with Katakuri shouts pointing at you.

"Oops sorry!" Ace chuckles, as everything around you catches fire. He grabs your arm, starting for the door. "I'll be back for you bastards later," He adds to the group that he had came for.

"Not so fast! That human is not going anywhere!" The she-vamp gets in your way.

"Arista, step out of the way before either of them kill you." Katakuri warns from the bar.

You glance back to meet the Pureblood's gaze. He gives a slight nod. Arista pauses, eyes widening in dismay.

"You're going to let it get away!?" She demands

"Not 'it', her." Katakuri breathes.

"Still in the way," Ace hums, seizing Arista's throat and tossing her into the flames before pulling you out of the building. "That was fun, can't wait to do that again!"

"You better pay back Zeff..." You frown at him.

"I will, I'll pay for your food too." He says thoughtfully.

"... Damn." You look back toward the building guiltily.

Somewhere near the building a howl sounds. You pale at that, dashing forward as you catch sight of two werewolves approaching.

"Oh, I know it's short cut! Let's go!" Ace catches up, grabbing your arm again and pulling you down an alley.

"They'll probably track me no matter what, damn wolves..." You breathe.

"Not if the way is on fire." He chuckles, pupils slitting again igniting anything flammable along the way. You swallow, at least he was on your side...

After a few turns, and when it seemed like you were almost out of the territory- you're cut off by a single, but large Kitsune.

"Look at this, two creatures I hate." The Kitsune hums, sunglasses glinting as his short blond hair dances the breeze. "A despicable demon and a stinking human."

Of course this was happening, you frown heavily. Ace always brought more than enough trouble with him when he showed up. Then again Kitsunes really didn't like humans.

"I just wanted noodles..." You grumble under your breath. Beside you, Ace tosses you a brief smirk

"I don't like Kitsunes, they smell like wet dogs..." He replies to the fox, making the kitsune's eyes narrow. You glance around for an escape route since this alley was about to turn into a war zone. "You can go past him, right between his legs." Ace tells you. Your heart drops at the thought and you look at him an alarm.

"Good idea demon, let's remove the human first." The Kitsune comments. Ace's eyes start to glow but he just smiles lightly. You swallow before dashing for the kitsune, heart racing.

"Wow she's actually going to try! Fufufu!" The Kitsune cackles. "Just another dead human then." He moves to attack you.

"Looking away from him is in even dumber idea." You breathe just before a pillar of fire bursts over you, the Kitsune looks up using his tails to stop the blast. You slide between his legs before bursting off again.

"See ya later!" Ace calls at your back.

"You better!" You respond not looking back.

You fall back onto the couch with a heavy sigh. That outing could have went better. You look up at the ceiling with a slight frown.

"Okay?" Law leans into your view with a concerned frown.

"Tired." You sigh and give a smile.

"Message for... You..." He places it on your face. "Then... Sleep..." He breathes shuffling away.

"Okay..." You unfold the paper curiously.

'6385 dead Court. I have a job for you.' Is what it read.

Your brows furrow, must be from Robin, though she usually came in person. At the bottom was an odd Insignia that you recognized from a vampire clock.

"Midnight..." You mutter checking the time. "Well... At least I can nap."

Dead Court is located in the Upper City, which is closer to the Necromancer's Tower. You frown lightly as you cross the threshold into Upper City. Unlike the Lower City, this part of the city was seemingly empty and quite unnerving. It was peaceful in a way though, because you felt your guard drop as you peer up at the moon.

'Why here though? It's strange...' You ponder, frowning uneasily as you come closer to the meeting place. You come to a stop on a bridge, looking at the tower in the not so far distance. A grande black and gold building with spikes here and there that made it look like a giant sword embedded in the earth.

'Beautiful...' You think silently, trying to imagine interior.

"Not often does someone stop to admire that building, especially when they have a meeting." A voice makes your heart skip a beat and you look over in surprise at the unexpected guest.

"Katakuri..." You manage.

"Hello again," He gives a nod before looking to the sky. "Seems we're both late to the meeting place now." He adds. You blink confused before your eyes widen and you unsheathe your blade instinctively. He blinks at you and nods. "That's nice, now come along we don't have much time." He says, heading off.

"What..." You follow after him in confusion. "You sent the note?... How?" You stammer with the questions buzzing in your head.

"Your demon friend didn't make it difficult." He answers simply.

'Damn it Ace...' You think with a quiet sigh. "So what do you want?"

"Hmm... Payback, you did steal for me." He peers back as your eyes widen and you swallow. "I found the dagger in your backpack when I was looking for bandages." He looks ahead again.

"You're not going to kill me?" You frown uneasily.

"I hate wasting time saving someone I was going to kill." He responds bluntly.

"That's reasonable of you... So you want me to steal for you then? Am I guessing right here?" You try to move to his side.

"You are right, and we now are heading for a warehouse that a ghoul family runs." He informs, seeming to slow his place after glancing back at you. "Within I want you to retrieve a certain sword they found."

"A sword, huh? What is it look like?" You peer up at him.

"It's a broadsword with a black blade and gold gems. It was used to kill pureblood vampires in the war." He tells you. You tilt your head and thought. This was an odd request.

"All right... But aren't you worried that I'll use it to try and kill you?" You say carefully.

"Hm, that would be an interesting outcome." He comments, tilting his head slightly. You blink at him trying to figure out if he was serious or not. "We both know you can't kill me." He glances at you. For some reason, you felt insulted.

"I could if I wanted to...." He chuckles slightly, stopping in front of a large building.

"Sure," He says, looking at it. "This is it, I'd appreciate it if you can get this done before dawn, if not then I'll come for it tomorrow night." He turns going to sit on some rubble nearby you shift, watching him for a moment as he settles on his decided seat. He raises an eyebrow at you. "Are you scared?" He questions, eyes narrowing in a silent taunt.

"No, I was just wondering what would happen if I went home instead." You reply lightly. He watches you in return for a few moments.

"There's no point in wondering that when you're about to going anyway." He says bluntly. You stare at each other for a moment, you silently challenging while Katakuri was wordlessly prompting you to act.

"Yeah you're right..." You mutter has you cave and start into the building.

You weren't expecting this place to be so cluttered. Or maybe a majority of this was rubble that had been moved off of the street? You scowl as you maneuver around everything at the entrance. Would you have to sift through all this mess in order to find the sword?

"Why am I even doing this?" You ask yourself quietly. Then the images of your first meeting with the pureblood pop into your head. Eh, probably best not to make the monster mad. Finally the way clears out until you find yourself amongst shelves of boxes and unique trinkets. There was no order to them, some looked like they were just tossed onto the shelf. "It's going to be a long night."

*One Hour*

Voices catch your ear as you. Into the top box on a Shelf. Curious, you turn your head, craning your neck to see where they were coming from. No luck. With a small frown you climb down the shelf quietly, debating if you should investigate. After a moments of hesitation you start toward the voices.

"It stinks in here, couldn't you have picked a better place to meet?" A grumpy voice complains as you draw closer.

"But this is where we've been keeping the sword." Another voice sighs.

'The sword?' You blink peering through the boxes as you spot a group of ghouls standing under a light, amongst them was another creature that you didn't recognize.

The creature just smirks to himself as he appears around curiously. "This is a good place for it, so messy it would take hours to find it." He comments.

'Yeah, no shit...' You agree silently glancing around. You feel like there are more than you could see.

"I'll go get it shouldn't take too long." A ghoul hums walking out of sight. Your eyes narrow slightly, and you shift a bit. What would you do if they were talking about the sword you were here to steal? Could you still take it and run?

'Not a good idea since I don't know what I'm dealing with...' You withhold a sigh.

"What's this? A human?" A voice says behind you curiously. You freeze, surprise shooting up your spine.

'Damn...' You slowly turn your head to meet two more unknown creatures. "And what are you guys?" You ask without thinking.

"Wow. You're calm for someone who has been caught sneaking around." The one with green eyes comments.

"We are wendigos." The blue-eyed one informs with a smile.

'Well... Not sure what those are but it must be dangerous.' You decide watching them not sure what to do.

"Come on human, I'm sure leader will be interested in knowing what you're doing here." The green-eyed one moves to grab your arm, guiding you toward the meeting place.

The ghouls and Lead wendigo look over as you are lead over to them.

"Spy!" A ghoul gasps.

"Why would a human need to spy?" The lead wendigo points out with a calm smile, raising an eyebrow at you.

"No spying here, just passing through." You offer a weary smile.

"Just passing through a warehouse in Dead Court." The wendigo that held your arm snorts.

"Come now, no point in lying once you've been caught." The leader chuckles lightly. He scratches his cheek, looking over you thoughtfully. You watch him in return, wondering how much of the truth you could offer.

"I came for something." You say, glancing at the glaring and confused ghouls.

"For what? Who told you to come here human?" A ghoul growls stepping toward you threateningly.

"Easy there, give her a chance to talk her way out of this." The lead wendigo hums.

"We just did Capone," The ghoul responds.

"So now we kill her." Another ghoul breathes. "She does look tasty." You pull your arm away from the wendigo, pulling out your blade.

"Come and try." You breathe. Before the ghouls can move, a slow clapping sounds, making everyone tense. You look over, eyes widening as Katakuri steps into the light.

"What's going on here? You having a party Capone?" He inquires, glancing at you. Somehow the glance put you at ease, but the wendigos grow hostile at that.

"What are you doing here pureblood?" Capone question lowly. You glance at the Wendigo. Katakuri doesn't answer at first.

"I came for the human." Katakuri answers, surprising you. The other eyes go back to you. "She stole from me, so I'm going to kill her someplace else." He explains before beckoning you. "So come on human."

'Saving me?' You realize. You almost step toward him, but it didn't seem right to you.

"No." You respond. Katakuri blinks a few times, seeming taken off guard. Beside you Capone chuckles at that.

"Did you really think that she would trade one death over another?" He taunts.

"I'm not choosing death fool." You glance at him in annoyance before throwing your dagger at Katakuri. The vampire easily sidesteps it and it lodges itself into an attacking ghoul's eye, making them fall to the ground dead, a broadsword falling from their grasp. Your eyes widen at the black blade and golden gems.

"The Slayer sword!" One of the ghouls shout. You dash for it, feeling something slice the back of your shirt.

"Dive!v Katakuri barks. You dive for the sword, Katakuri's leg swiping over you. There's a crash behind you, just as you reach the dead ghoul. You jerk your dagger from the ghoul's eye and grab the sword hilt before standing and turning to the group as the lead ghoul sits up against a now destroyed shelf.

"What the hell is going on here?" He demands. The two wendigos with Capone start to lose the color in their faces and hair as their bodies stretch, becoming thin and lanky. The skin on their fingers flake away, revealing long dagger like claws. They gnashed their teeth together as they look at Katakuri and you.

"That's an odd sight." Capone blinks at you as you stood next to the pureblood.

"And that's a disturbing one." You scoff looking at his underlings pointedly.

"Agreed, never witnessed them change before." Katakuri nods.

"I never met one before tonight so I definitely wasn't expecting that." You look at Katakuri briefly. "Also this thing is heavy, want to take it?" You refer to the sword, lifting it slightly.

"No, not yet. You should give it a test to swing now though." He warns moving behind you. You blink and do so, flinching when the blade comes into contact with one of the wendigo's neck. There's a fiery blast on contact, but you grit your teeth, forcing it through its neck. The head drops away as the skin sizzles.

A monstrous cry leaves the other and it lurches forward but Capone it stops it. "They have the upper hand now. We should fall back." Capone breathes calmly but his eyes were piercing Katakuri coldly. "That's illegal, isn't it Katakuri?" He adds, glancing at you pointedly.

"I follow no one, so it's not to me." Katakuri responds simply. The ghouls shift and glare at you both, but they seem too uneasy by Katakuri's presence to move.

"So I guess we're leaving then?" You glance over at the pureblood.

"Yes we are, you lead the way." He nods, eyes on the wendigos. You glance at Capone before starting out carefully. Katakuri follows silently until you're out of the warehouse.

"So, what made you come in?" You ask glancing up at him.

"Saw the ghouls go in, wanted to come see you fight... But I found the wendigos inside and thought you might need a hand." He answers.

"I think I had it under control, but they really didn't like you." You look up at him curiously. He nods in amusement.

"I might have buried at a tribe of them alive in those mountains over there... And killed their previous leader." He shrugs pointing out the mountains in the distance.

"Wow... Why? What ticked you off?" You huff, trying to wrap your mind around it.

"I can't really remember, the leader did make me mad. And I believe I buried the rest to see how long they'd survive." He tilts his head trying to remember his reasons.

"All right I'll take note of that..." You mutter warily.

"That would be wise... You did surprise me tonight, and that's not common." He adds.

"I thought I did..." You hum lightly, smirking a bit. "So, what is that? Like a sixth sense? Is that why you're hard to surprise?" You peek at his face.

"Something like that," He meets your gaze, "More like a quick glance into the future."

"Wow... Must be a pure-blood thing." You tilt your head at the thought.

"It is, and not just a vampiric purebloods." He informs. You stop, an old memory flashing through your head.

"Pureblood werewolves? You ask.

"Them too." He watches you for a moment before holding out his hand. "Thanks for getting the sword, I'll take it now."

"Sure, it's heavy anyway." You offer him a smile. He takes it but the yellow stones flash and there is a sizzling sound. You instinctively take the sword back as he looks at his now ashen hand. BWhat... Are you okay?" You ask in surprise.

"Yes, guess the Helio stones work on it after all..." He comments, not seeming bothered by it as he shakes off the layer of ash. You tilt your head in confusion, but the faint light on the horizon catches your eye.

"Oh hey, you should hurry back, I'll take the sword there once day breaks." You tell him quickly.

"All right, then I'll see you soon." He crouches briefly before jumping up into the air, landing on a nearby building. You look at each other for a moment before Katakuri disappears from sight.

"Must be nice being able to move around like that." You mutter starting for a Vamp Central.

Just as you were starting to relax you felt eyes on you. A frown comes to your lips and you look around carefully, gripping the sword a bit tighter. Then you feel a breeze on your back accompanied by an airy growl. You dive forward and roll to the side. In the corner of your eye, Claws slash the ground beside you. You lash out with the sword, nicking the wendigo's shoulder.

"Should have seen that coming," You mutter, regaining your footing and tossing a glance to Capone whom stood a few yards away.

"I knew that you would separate, with how fast dawn was approaching." Capone smirks. "And you wouldn't have survived Francis without Katakuri's vision, so this should be easy."

"Yeah, probably." You agree before suddenly moving to run away. The wendigo steps in front of you, swinging it's long bony arm and knocking you into the street. You manage to keep ahold of the sword, swinging out with it and barely missing the wendigo's chest as it launches at you. The wendigo stabs a claw through your forearm, pinning it in place. You bite your tongue to keep from crying out. You swiftly unsheathe your dagger with your free a hand, stabbing it into the wendigo's shoulder. It gives an inhuman shriek at that, snapping it crooked jaws at you.

"Get the fuck off me." You growl, trying to stab it again. It jerks backs seizing your other arm.

"Victor!" Capone's warning was cut short as the wendigo suddenly burst into flames. It shrieks louder, jerking away and releasing you. You look over in amazement as a familiar demon come strolling up with slitted pupils. You swallow as he gives a dangerous smile.

"Ace..." You manage carefully.

"I smelt human blood, is that you, ___? Did that weird Skelton thing hurt you?" His question became below and crazed, eyes focused on the wendigo. "Do you want me to kill it?" This question felt like he had crawled into your head to ask. You feel like chill run down your spine.

"What? A demon too?" Capone huffs, backing up while Victor snarls at Ace. You don't even look at them, your focus was on the demon alone. He seemed really on edge tonight.

"Go ahead Ace," you say before covering your ears and closing your eyes. Heat waves burst against your skin and you hum loudly to block out the battle. It ended swiftly though, you soon feel a pat on your shoulder. You open your eyes, dropping your hands as you examine Ace's face. "You okay Ace?" You inquire.

"I'm hungry, haven't eaten all night." He admits with a sigh. You blink and relax slightly, offering a light smile.

"Want to go to Hawkins? I'm heading to Vamp Central now, so it's not out of the way." You suggest.

"Yeah! That sounds great." He smiles. "But we should fix your arm." He looks at it carefully. You wince as you're reminded of your new injury and look at the blood pooling out.

"Yep, definitely should tend to that. You pull your pack onto your lap, fishing out some first aid supplies. Ace helps you patch up before helping you to your feet. "That was amazing timing by the way, what were you doing over here?" You inquire.

"Chasing some stupid wolves that pissed me off." He shrugs slightly. "What about you?" He looks at you curiously.

"Stole a sword from some wendigos and I'm now delivering it to Vamp Central." You hold up the blade.

"Wow! Want to give it to me instead?" He asks curiously.

"Nope, it goes to my new ally." You chuckle.

"What about me?" He pouts.

"I'm buying you food, don't be greedy." You tease.

"That's what demons do." He points out.

"If you did everything other demons do I would have been dead a long time ago.." You retort easily.

"That's true... But it's been much funner with you alive." He comments with a nod.

"Glad you think so." You become thoughtful, peering at the blade. Ace peers at it too.

"Is it for the big pure-blood vampire?" He guesses. You look at him at that, caught off guard. "I went to pay Zeff, but he said the vamp paid for you already." He explains. "Be careful, there's a reason purebloods are rare. They bite off more than they can chew."

You blink at his warning, meeting his gaze. That seemed sincere and honest at the same time. "I wasn't going to trust them that easily Ace, I was just enjoying the thought of having another strong ally." You assure.

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense since everyone hates you." He chuckles lately. You don't understand the humor in that but smile anyway.

Soon you came to a diner, going inside and waving to the voodoo dolls that manage the place. This was the place where you two met, the dimly-lit, nearly empty Diner with voodoo dolls wandering everywhere- mainly the rafters.

"It's been two years since we last came here." He says matter-of-factly.

"Has it? Feels like two months?" You tilt your head in confusion.

"It was." You blink before giving him a look as he chuckles, finding a table. You sit across from him taking a menu that a doll offered.

"Best thing about this place, they don't discriminate." You smile as you look over the pictures in the menu.

"I thought it was their burgers." He comments.

"Yeah it is. But mine is a good second." You agree with a nod. After a quick browse of the menus, you give them back to the dolls, and inform them on what you wanted. You check on the sword beside you.

"Mm, the more I look at it. It looks like it was made by demons..." Ace comments following your gaze.

"Demons make weapons?" You look at him curiously.

"Some, usually cost a soul or something like that." He shrugs.

"Oh..." you murmur, looking at it again, just how much did a pureblood slayer cost?

"Must have been worth about 50 Souls since it has Helios stones," he adds.

"Never heard of them." You tilt your head. "At least not until today." You add.

"They're used to slow down the things that can't be touched by the sun." Ace hums.

"That explains..., you murmur, remembering when Katakuri touched it. "Maybe I should look for some of them..."

"It's a rare find, the remaining ones are probably and some ruined Temple somewhere." Ace shrugs.

"Damn..." You look up as the witch doctor brings over your dishes. "Thank you sir." You offer a smile to the yellow-eyed mute. He simply glances at you in knowledgement before returning to the kitchen. "At least he looks at me now, finally make an impression." You smile.

"You always do, you're Human after all." Ace chuckles. You give him a frown at that. "You know it's true."

"Yeah, yeah..."

After the meal you and Ace part ways again and you continue on to Katakuri's home. Reaching the door you find it cracked open. A spike of alarm goes through you and you grip the sword hilt before entering. After shutting the door behind yourself, you move forward chewing on your lip carefully.

"You sure took your time." His voice says from the hall. You peer down the hall at him, meeting his magenta gaze.

"Had a run-in with your friends." You respond to lightly. He glances at the bandages on your arm.

"Should have killed them..." He mutters turning away.

"Well all that's left is Capone, I'm pretty sure Ace killed the other." You state following after him.

"Oh there are many more, human." He assures ominously. "And Capone is smart, those two were most likely the weakest."

"Seriously?" You frown, glancing down briefly. "Guess I gotta watch out for them now..."

"Would you prefer to keep the sword then?" He inquires, stopping at the stairs to look back at you.

"Oh no, too bulky and heavy." You shake your head. He gives an amused hum before leading you up the stairs. Your eyes glide to Pudding's door seeing it outlined by a dim light. You go past to his room.

"So, where are the others that live here?" you ask quietly.

"I sent most of them away for the day." He answers as he enters the room. "Can you please set it there for me?" He points to a weapon mount over his wardrobe.

"Sure, I'll just..." You go to the wardrobe, looking up at it. But are you going to be able to reach that? You turn your head to look for a chair but tense up as he steps behind you.

"I'll give you a lift, should be alright., He states before lifting you up to it. You carefully place the sword on the mount before you are put down again.

"Thanks," You say at the same time as him, you turn to him. You offer a smile as he narrows his eyes slightly in amusement.

"___?" The familiar and soft voice makes you look over at Pudding.

"Puddinh, should you be out of bed?" You ask, quickly going over to her.

"I heard your voice and thought brother caught you." The vampire responds worriedly.

"No, I'm safe, I think we're getting along..." You spare a look back at Katakuri, his eyes were a bit wider now.

"I see, so that's how you were able to find it..." He mutters.

"I-I'm so-"

"She just gave me an idea of which door, the dagger was kind of obvious." You lie easily. Katakuri hums, peering between you both.

"Take her back to bed." He requests.

"Sure, let's go," You guide Pudding back to her room.

"I'm glad you're alive." She hugs you

"Heh, thanks to your brother." You pat her back. "He's saved my ass a few times already."

"Really? You must be strong then." Her eyes shimmer with a happy glint as she looks up at you.

"I just thrive to survive." You chuckle, helping her into the bed.

"Hehe I'm glad I got to see you again." She hums, pulling the blanket up.

"Me to, thought it would be much longer." You sit at the edge of the bed.

"So why did you come today?" Pudding inquires. You smile before telling her all about the night you had. After the two you smirk, finding Pudding in a state of awe and horror.

"Wow! You do some dangerous things!" Pudding gasps.

"My life is just a bit more dangerous than most." You shrug.

"So you got more stories like that?" The vampire inquires.

"Yes, I can tell you some now since there isn't an immediate threat." You offer. Of course the sickly vamp didn't refuse, so you started to tell her about your adventures.

Some time passes before Pudding begins to doze off. You stopped your tale as Pudding's head falls back against her pillow. A small smile settles on your lips and you pull the blanket up over her more before easing out of the room.

"Sun will set soon," Katakuri informs from where he leaned against the wall next to Pudding's door. You jump slightly, looking up at him. Had he been listening this whole time?

"Yeah... Well, it was nice seeing her again. See you later Katakuri." You hum. Katakuri walks you to the door.

"I'll be looking forward to it." Katakuri says lightly. You stop to look up at him for a few moments.

"I don't like Vamps, but purebloods are pretty cool." You nod in thought. He chuckles at that, leaning down to look you in the eye.

"Don't decide things like that so easily." He breathes. You swallow lightly and chuckle.

"Too late," you smirk. "Now get away from the door, don't want you to get burnt."

"Right, fight well human, we'll see each other again soon." He says backing out of the hall.

"I'm sure we will."
