Three Soon-To-Be-Dead Eavesdroppers
"Hello nephew, Hermione, Ron. What do we have here?"
They stare at me, terrified. I stood my ground, unblinking. Harry cleared his throat, which was clearly dry, due to nerves.
"We, er, um, we were wanting to wait for you, and, um, we heard some stuff, uh, and then we listened?..." He trailed off, looking extremely uncomfortable. I smiled grimly.
"Perchance I should oblivate you three, make sure you don't tell my secret. But I don't want to do that. Come to the common room with me, I need to explain."
Hermione looked worried. "What about our classes?"
I waved it off and said, "I'll sort it out. Don't worry. Dumbledore will understand."
A while later, we were sitting in the girls dormitory. Sorrowfully, I ask the dreaded question. "Are Lilypad and James really dead?"
They looked at me curiously. Hermione answered for them. "Yes, but we thought you knew that?" I chuckle grimly.
"Lils was one of my best friends. James, well, twins have to deal with each other. But we got along fairly well." They gaped at me, openmouthed again. "Close your mouth, you'll catch flies."
"You're my AUNT?!?"
Twenty minutes later, I had explained the entire situation to them. How Mum and Dad hated me, how it was my fault that James was born early and almost died, everything. Awkwardly, Hermione started speaking.
"So, that means you knew Snape, right?"
I visibly stiffened. "Yes... But he isn't my friend. Wasn't. I must've been able to see somethings when I was dead, so I remember clearly watching Snape do something your mother could never forgive Harry. He called her a mudblood, right after she defended him."
The next day, I glanced at my schedule and cringed. Double potions first thing with the Slytherins.
"Oi Harry, what do you have?" I looked over his shoulder and saw the same schedule as mine. At least I wouldn't suffer alone. "Never mind."
