Loki stood at the podium, looking out at the sea of reporters and cameras in front of him. The room was buzzing with anticipation, everyone eager to hear what he had to say.

"Mr. Laufeyson! Sir, You're supposed to be in Miami on vacation, why are you back so soon?" A reporter shouted. He paid them no mind.

He took a deep breath and began.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the press, thank you for joining me today. I have called this conference to make an announcement about a matter of great importance to me, and I hope to all of you as well."

The reporters leaned in, their microphones and recorders at the ready. Loki could sense the tension in the air, and he knew that he had their full attention.

"As some of you may know, I recently joined the ranks of the Avengers, a team of superheroes dedicated to protecting the world from threats. Since then, I have been working tirelessly alongside my fellow Avengers to combat these threats and keep the world safe." He said, unsure of what he was speaking about. The room erupted into a chorus of questions, but Loki held up a hand to silence them.

"But today, I am not here to talk about the Avengers. I am here to talk about something much more personal to me."

He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts.

"I am here to ask for your help in finding someone. A woman I once knew, who has been missing for some time now. Her name is Sylvie Laufeydottir."

The reporters murmured amongst themselves, some scribbling notes furiously. Loki could see the curiosity and interest in their eyes, and he knew that he had them hooked.

"I know that many of you have the power to reach people far and wide, and I am asking you to use that power to help me find her. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in our search. Please, if you have any leads or information, contact us, please."

The crowd was rather large, but once person caught Loki's eye.

...A familiar head of blonde hair, quickly writing a note, eyes widened.

"Sylvie?" He said, and the crowd of reporters and journalists averted their gazes towards her.

"Sylvie, is that you?" She snapped her head up.

She started running away, and Loki stepped away from the podium and started to chase after her.

In a distant alleyway, there was a flash of orange, and a whirring noise. Loki finally reached the alley, and all that remained was a note. The same note she was writing earlier.

He picked it up and read it.

"Dear Loki.

This is bound to worsen the state of the Sacred Timeline-

Two Lokis in one place never turns out well.

Mark my words,

Quit looking for me."

Loki crumpled the note in his hand, frustration and disappointment washing over him. He couldn't understand why Sylvie didn't want to be found, especially when he was desperate to reconnect with her. But he knew better than to push her when she had made up her mind.

Taking a deep breath, Loki straightened his posture and composed himself. He couldn't let this setback deter him from his mission. He still had the TemPad and his newfound resources at Avengers Tower. There had to be another way to locate Sylvie and understand the truth behind their connection.

Up in the penthouse, He opened the note back up. He had to find something. Numerical information, maybe? He was Asgardian, and knew little of human science and mathematics, but he was certainly not a moron. He knew how to count.

He looked at the note again.

"Dear Loki."

Two.

"This is bound to worsen the state of the Sacred Timeline"

Eleven.

"Two Lokis in one place never turns out well."

Nine.

"Mark my words,"

Three.

"Quit looking for me."

Four,

...Was that it?

It couldn't be that easy, right?

He scattered through the objects on his desk to find the TemPad. He raised his finger to punch the numbers in, but an elevator opened, with a *ding* and a *whoosh*.

Loki paid no mind to the person who'd just entered.

"Busy, come back later." He said, dismissively.

"Well, well, well. Back from Miami so soon?" a familiar voice crooned out.

Loki looked up from the TemPad to see...

...him.
