M is for Moon
WHEN THE MORNING "met them" like Mom had said, Poppy still did not feel very calm.
She tried to be, when she looked out at the tree. Luckily for her wandering mind, Poppy was getting a pedicure with Charlie and Reece after school. Maybe that would be a good thing. Poppy could expand their two-person group into a three-person group. The more the merrier, right?
Mrs. Banks began the day with easy morning work, and a quick math lesson. She explained that she had a surprise for everyone, and that it would be really fun.
"I want you all to try your best on it," she said, handing out rubrics. "I want to get to know a little bit more about what makes you guys you."
This was a change in attitude Poppy had not been expecting. Mrs. Banks was normally cold and commanding, but with the introduction to this project, there seemed to be a new warmth to her expression.
Maybe it was just a trick of the light.
When the rubric was passed to Poppy, her eyebrow furrowed. How on Earth was she supposed to complete such a big project in two weeks? This would not only require her to try to find things she didn't even know about her grandparents, while watching out for trolls in regular life!
Why did fifth grade have to be so much harder than fourth?
