Scene 1: Act 1

The scene is an abandoned street. It is nighttime. There are houses, none of which have lights on. There is not another person in sight.

Evan stumbles out on to the stage. He is drunk and disorientated.

He calls out around him: "Hey guys? Where did you go? This isn't funny... I've done your dare... I don't even know where I am! You can't just leave me here!"

When he receives no response, he sighs and pulls out his phone. He can barely text as his hands are shaking. His whole body feels weak, so he sits on the ground and attempts to phone somebody. He vomits unexpectedly and has to clean some off of his phone.

Evan murmurs: "Ah, shit!"

He calls his girlfriend but gets her voicemail so he leaves a very drunk message.

Evan: "Abbey, it's Evan. I love you... But, that's not why I called... I'm sorry I didn't listen to you. I went to the party and now I'm drunk and they gave me something but I don't know what it was... and I think they abandoned me... shit, it's late and you're probably sleeping. Don't worry, I'll walk home."

Evan puts the phone in his pocket and attempts to stand, but he only vomits again and falls to his knees. His body begins to shake uncontrollably. He is having a seizure. He collapses to the ground, still seizing. The seizure lasts for a few minutes and then he passes out.

Early morning has come. Abbey is driving around town looking for Evan. She has her friend Sarah in the car with her. Evan is still passed out in the middle of the street.

Abbey calls out from her front window: "Oh my god! There he is!"

Both Abbey and Sarah climb out of the car and run over to Evan who is still passed out and not moving.

Abbey is deeply concerned. "God, Evan! We've been searching everywhere for you!"

Abbey tries to shake Evan awake, saying his name repeatedly in a bid to wake him. But he doesn't wake up.

She wipes her hands on her pants and says: "Gross, he's covered in vomit! Come on, Evan, wake up!"

Sarah is concerned, she asks: "Is he breathing? Check his pulse."

Abbey checks Evan's pulse and places her hand on his forehead to check the warmth of his skin. She pulls out her phone and addresses Sarah.

Abbey says: "He has a pulse but his skin is really hot. I think we need to call an ambulance!"

Sarah argues with Abbey: "No! Didn't you say that you think he took something? If it's illegal, you'll get him arrested! I might know a guy. He's a friend of my parents and he used to be a chemist so he should know a thing or two. We'll get Evan in the car and then I'll call him!"

Abbey considers what Sarah has said. While she feels the best choice would be to take Evan to the hospital, she is worried that Sarah could be right. Evan could get arrested if he has taken something illegal.

Abbey gives in and says: "Okay, fine. But help me get him into the car! He's too heavy for me to lift by myself."

Abbey and Sarah lift up Evan and pull him into the car.

While Sarah makes the phone call, Abbey drives the car  away.
