Scene 2: Act 2:

The scene changes to the living room of a house. It is messy. There is a torn up couch, beer bottles, empty food packets, clothes, syringes and cigarettes on the table. There is also a lingering smell. T.C is sitting on the couch drinking a beer. He is an older man with a very disheveled appearance.

There is a knock at the door and T.C stands up unsteadily and walks over to the door. He appears high.

He opens the door to allow Sarah and Abbey to enter. They are still holding up Evan.

Abbey looks around, she is instantly put off by her surroundings and gets a bad feeling about where they are along with the man that is standing before them.

T.C addresses Sarah " I take it this is the guy... He's suffering from an overdose."

Evan mumbles incoherently.

T.C says to the girls:  "Bring him over to the couch and lay him down. Do you know what he's taken?"

Abbey and Sarah carry Evan over to the couch, where they shift some beer bottles from the couch and on to the floor. They lay Evan down. 

Abbey sits beside Evan while Sarah speaks with T.C.

Sarah says to T.C: " We don't know what he's had. He just called her saying that some guys from school gave him something and abandoned him!"

T.C shakes his head in disbelief and picks up a bin filled with rubbish. He brings the bin over to Evan and continues to stare at Abbey as he places the bin on the floor by Evan's head. 

By the look that T.C is giving Abbey, he makes her feel very uncomfortable.

T.C says:  "He's going to need water! Sarah, can you get some from the kitchen?"

Sarah glances over at them, she sighs and then leaves to get some water for Evan.

Suddenly Evan's head is hovering over the side of the couch and he begins to vomit into the bin.

Abbey places her hand to Evan's back. She is grossed out by the scene but continues to comfort him.

Abbey says: "Evan, it's okay... I'm here."

Evan begins to sob: "Abbey, I'm sorry I went out with Christian and Elijah. I'll never do it again... wait, where the hell are we?"

Evan looks around at their surroundings and his eyes linger on the strange man.

T.C says: "Evan, is it? Welcome to my humble abode! It looks like you survived... Do you know what your friends gave you?"

Sarah enters the room with a glass of water and hands it to Evan.

Sarah says:  "Hey, welcome back to the land of the living! Abbey was scared for you... I guess that's the price you pay for partying with Christian and Elijah, hey?"

Sarah hands Evan the glass of water and he takes a sip, his hands are shaking. He gives Sarah back the glass.

Evan's eyes go wide as if he can vaguely remember the night with a mixture of anger and embarrassment. Suddenly, Evan's body begins convulsing again. His limbs flail about in a violent manner and his back slams against the seat of the couch.

T.C shouts: "Stand back! He's convulsing! We're going to have to drop him off at the entrance of the nearest hospital. Why did you bring him here, Sarah?"

Sarah pulls Abbey away and addresses T.C: "We didn't know what else to do... we thought he was dead! What do you think he's had?"

T.C doesn't answer, instead he moves all the items away from Evan's head so he can't injure himself during the seizure.

Abbey cries out: "What is happening to him?"

T.C says: "He's having a seizure! Whatever he's taken, the authorities can't know that he's been here!"

Evan's body stops convulsing. He is once again passed out on the couch.

Abbey snaps at T.C: "So, what? We just dump him at the hospital and leave him there? No! I'm not abandoning him!"

T.C raises his hands in defeat and says: "Whatever! You're on your own! Get him out of here... But if the police come knocking on my door... I'll know it was because of you!"

Abbey looks as if she is ready to yell at T.C but Sarah grabs her arm and says:

"Come on, Abs. Let's just take him and go!"

Both Abbey and Sarah lift Evan up between them, equally supporting him and make their way toward the door. Abbey opens the door.

T.C calls out to Sarah: "Sarah!"

Sarah turns to look at him.

T.C says sternly: "If this falls back on me..."

He gives her a knowing look and fear sweeps over Sarah's face. She nods obediently and helps Abbey carry Evan out the door. They close the door behind them.
