Yoohyeon
Did we fail?
.......no.
We didn't.
The white light subsided into the darkness of the hall. No Name placed her hands against the floor, heaving deep breaths as if her life depends on it. The black mists wafted around her, the size of the beast became smaller.
I heard my name called out. Apparently, Hoseok and I are the only ones left in the house. The others disappeared without a trace.
As he laid his eyes to No Name, he bit his bottom lip with a rueful expression. He pulled his eyes away from her to me.
"Go get her. She needs you", he spoke. I shake my head, heavy-hearted after what I did to her. I do understand why Hoseok wants me to end it all, but will she forgive me for hurting her? Even though I wasn't in my control.
"No, Hoseok. You do the honor", I said.
"Yoohyeon, please. You're her friend. She's your friend. I don't think I'm worthy enough to become one", he expressed with his strained voice.
I bit my lip anxiously. I turn away from him, my legs bringing me to No Name. My heart thumped loudly against my chest, my clenched fists glistened with sweat. Courage was the only thing that matters at this moment.
But do I have enough bravery to bring her back?
As I closed the distance between us, No Name snapped her head up, her eyes glaring daggers at me. "Just go! Both of you just go! You'll regret it if you don't! You'll die!" she yelled.
Anger boils in my blood. I clenched my fists tighter, stubborn to walk away. "I'm not scared of you. I'll never leave you alone!" I shouted back at her.
"I can't hold it much longer!" she shouted, clenching her head tightly. "Go! Yoohyeon, please go!" she yelled desperately.
The black mists started to grow into a large beast, growling and hissing like mutated animals.
It was charging towards me.
I stand on my ground, not flinching at the threatening action.
I exhaled a relieved sigh as it halted right in front of my nose.
My heart dropped when she cried out again, all in pain and loss. Her tears was so human that I want to destroy the fact that she's the dead one.
It doesn't matter who she is.
She's my friend.
I muster up every bit of my courage and walk forward towards the wafting black mist.
I don't care if I was hurt.
I don't care if I'll die right at this spot.
I don't care anything but her.
I need to save her.
It's our promise.
As soon as my skin was in contact with the mist, I waited for the pain to come and bite viciously. I close my eyes and continued walking through the mist.
......but all I felt was cold.
It doesn't hurt, it doesn't bite off my skin. It was just cold, like ice and winter nights. I pushed myself through the obstacles. The thickness of the gel was no joke, making me hard to breathe.
But I kept going.
And going.
My lungs desperately need air. But I feigned ignorance of it.
And on forward.
......I finally stood in front of her.
She didn't notice my appearance, kneeling with her loud cries in suffering of controlling her suppressed anger. I got down to the floor and wrapped my arms around her. Her whole body was trembling.
I heard her choked gasp. Then the wailing screams of the mist echoed the cold air. I looked up from her shoulders to witness the black mist disappearing into thin air.
Then they vanished into the void. Her wings gone forever.
"Why...Why didn't you go!?" she cried angrily. She was trying to push me away, begging for me to leave her. I tightened my embrace. I don't want to let her go.
Then she gave up. She cried her heart out on my shoulders and wrapped her arms around my waist.
We stayed in that position until she calmed down. Footsteps, which I assumed was Hoseok's, walking towards us. I pulled away and gazed at her tear-stained face, exhaustion written in her eyes.
I smiled, my cheeks felt the streaming tears down to my chin. I wiped her tears off with my hands gently and hold her face.
"Let's go together, okay?"
She shake her head tiredly, exhaled breaths of fatigue, her body in a verge of collapse. "Go...just go..." she begged weakly, her voice almost lose its beautiful sound.
"I'm not going without you. We promised to get you out of here, together with the others. Hoseok promised too. I don't want my friend to break this promise", I said with a lump in my throat.
With that, she cried again. Hoseok and I hugged her, trapping her in our arms. We stayed there in the hall, where she first awakened at the very beginning.

We walked hand in hand, side by side. I was between Yoohyeon and Hoseok. They helped me walk, my pale arms and legs slowly returns its color as energy recharged within me.
The others waited for us outside in a spacious dried lavender fields, the fragrant smell wafted around us. We reached the entrance, the beginning of us trapped in this very house.
They're about to take a step forward to the outside for the first time in a long time. But I didn't move, frozen like a mannequin.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Hoseok asked worryingly. I was staring blankly in an open space. The dried lavenders was beautiful. The fading colour fits the warm tone of the sky.
The invisible wall that expands to half of the lavender field was obvious in my eyes. Everyone was there, waiting for us to get out of the house that trapped them.
The nature view was too gorgeous for me to live.
I looked at Hoseok, then to Yoohyeon one last time and smiled sincerely.
"I'm sorry", I said before I used the power that the destroyed book passed on to me to push both of them away from me, out of the house.
I never regretted my decision.
The dead will never be alive.

Yoohyeon
I groaned as my back hit on the ground hard. Hoseok was a few inches next to me, groaning in pain from the impact. I quickly scurried to sit and see her standing at the entrance of the house, human tears streaming down her cheeks.
"No, no!" I shouted and ran for her. My body was pushed away once again, sending me back to the lavender ground.
Hoseok hurriedly run towards me and helped me stand up, my legs wobbled in panic. "Why is she doing this!? Why!?"
She stood there, her white nightgown flowed with the wind. Her graceful image were a similarity with a princess, her smile brightens the world.
She tucked her hand into her dress pocket and took out a paper and a match. She opened the yellowed paper, a diagram of a house sketched in the middle of the paper.
No lavender field, no sky, no people.
Just the house.
A thought snapped me out of my senses.
"No!" I yelled at her, knowing that it's useless. She swiped the match on the wall, a dancing flame with a fiery pain. She brings the match closer to the paper, until the flame licked its corner.
The flame quickly touched the sketch of the house. When that happens, the real house started to lit with fire, a massive beast engulfing its prey. They grow quickly, time makes it stronger and bigger.
Hoseok and I struggled to release myself from the other's grip, screaming hysterically for her to get out of the house. But she didn't listen.
She never listen.
Her black dress lit up, but she never flinched. Her elegant features was calm and serene. Beneath the flowing tears, she smiled the sweetest smile. A smile that was rare for her to do when she was alive.
A giant flame covers her smile before it covers her whole body. I was too stunned for words, frozen to move an inch. The others loosened their grip from me and Hoseok.
We watched as everything turned to ashes.
They all burned down.
It all fell down.
And she slipped off our fingers, gone with the wind.
Forever.
