Challenge Prompt: Write a close moment between two characters, canon or OCs.

Other (minimum word count, other info, etc.): They can be LGBT+ ships, OC ships, canon characters, pretty much anything. Minimum word count is 150(though that isn't too strict)

Peridot lay in the grass beside Lapis Lazuli, eyes sparkling in the light of the stars. There was only silence between the two, but a third cat's voice broke it.

"Beautiful night, huh?" Amethyst Mountain said in what was nearly whisper. "I don't think I have to ask if I can join you. Three may be a crowd, but that's never really applied to us, I must say."

Lapis laughed quietly, and Peridot spoke for her, although unnecessary. "Just lay down with us, silly," she said, smiling softly. That smile soon broke into a grin as Amethyst flopped down in front of them, seeming to form what was a triangle of cats, staring up at the starry sky.

"The night may be beautiful," Lapis murmured, "but not as beautiful as us three." She received a friendly kick from Amethyst, and, after a moment's humorous tussle between the group, all three burst out laughing, rolling about in the grass.

They wouldn't dare play out this night any other way.
