Birth and Family: Harriet Mille Winchester was born on May 2nd 1983, to John Winchester, a former marine and mechanic, and her mother, Mary Winchester, a stay-at-home mother. Her twin brother, Sam, shortly arrived ten minutes later. They are the couple's second and third child, both four years younger than brother Dean.

Childhood: At six months old, on November 2nd 1983, Harriet and Sam lost their mother, Mary, who was killed in their nursery by a Yellow-Eyed demon named Azazel. Mary had walked into their nursery, having witnessed them being feed demon blood. To this very day, it has mentally scared her and Sam, the same reason they don't like Halloween.

Her childhood becomes emotionally unstable, from moving from place to place to living in rented accommodations and motels while her father hunted the supernatural. She got trained in the skills of hunting and killing the supernatural along with her brothers. Both she and Sam were left in the capable hands of their older brother Dean. But as Dean got older, he went on hunts with John, leaving the twins alone to look after each other, Sam.

It wasn't until Harriet turned eight she believed that her mother had died in a car accident and that he was a travelling salesman. She and Sam stumble upon their father's journal, both demanding their older brother to explain. There they learn that the existence of the paranormal is real. Once she turned eighteen, she and Sam eventually went to Stanford University but were told never to come back by their father if they left.
