My ears became filled with the ear-splitting music booming in the crowded room making me bring my palms to my ear to prevent the blood that will soon start gushing from my ears.

Looking around, teenagers were dancing around like crazy nitwits at the center of the room, some yelling along to the song that played obviously not minding the deafening noise coming from the speakers. Teenagers bumped into me every five seconds as I stood still. I finally removed my palms from my ears sensing I was the only one doing that. I don't want to be seen as a weirdo or worse a fresher to this kind of stuff. I just have to adjust to the noise.

Alarm bells rang in my head again as I realized something; Olie's not with me that is, I'm alone!!

I felt like I'd panic anytime soon as I couldn't concentrate on anything but the fact that Olie was not with me right now.

Get a grip, Raven!

Breathe in, breathe out.

I decide to create a solo search party after the little pep talk I gave myself to get her and take the risk by pushing my way through teenagers and sweaty bodies but before I could move any further, I felt a tap on my shoulder making me turn to come face-to-face with my best friend.

"Where the hell were you?" I ask her but she furrowed her eyebrows, putting on a confused expression as she cupped her ear, making me assume she didn't hear me over this stupid music

"What did you say?" She asked and I had to repeat myself, but this time I shouted it almost at the top of my lungs so she could hear me better.

Yup, the music is that loud.

Shrugging, she replied "was waiting over there" She pointed at a corner not too far from where I was.

If only I had just turned around.

"Knew you'd come" she comments, her voice as loud as mine. I rolled my eyes. Of course, what option did she leave me with after dropping a horrifying fact straight up at me?

"Well, come over let me show you a few friends of mine" she said, pulling my arm as she dragged me towards wherever she planned on going.

After taking me about, making me have the awkward hello and hey conversation with a few people, she decided it was time to give me a break.

"Wait here, let me get you something to drink" she said, as we stood by a corner. "So whatcha want?"

"Water" I replied. She rolled her eyes and murmured something along the line of lame ass before heading off to God knows where.

Folding my arms, I felt a bit secure in the corner I was in. I took that as an opportunity to scope the people around.

My gaze lands firstly on the rowdiest place in the room; the dance floor. I watch as teenagers shamelessly grind on one another, clearly not minding the disgusting transfer of cooties but instead enjoying the hurly-burly of the place.

I drag my eyes away from them to look at the crowd of people at the other end of the room, contributing to the noise with their occasional hoots and catcalls as they played a game, probably beer pong.

I then look at the other set of people scattered around the room, red plastic cups in the hands of a few of them as they either engaged in conversation with another person or just stood watching. I couldn't help but wonder how the hell they were able to pass spoken words with one another without screaming out their entire lungs.

Generally, I could recognize most people here as we attend the same school while some I swear I've never seen their faces and a few others look like college students.

Like why the butt would a college student attend a shit hole of a high school party?!!

I rolled my eyes as my gaze finally descended on the few people sitting on the three small couches that surrounded a table at the other far end of this large room which I guess must be the owner's sitting room.

This house is gonna look like a shit storm happened by tomorrow morning.

On one couch, a girl was sitting leisurely on a boy's lap, another couple beside them in the same position but instead were eating each other's faces off. On the other were three girls, zoned out typing away on their phones, and on the last couch was a boy with huge ass glasses obviously a nerd looking a bit frightened and lost like his mama's gonna show up here any second and spank his ass for ever being here. Poor boy. Two other people sat on the couch alongside him, looking bored as hell.

Feel ya guys.

Out of the 2 people which consisted of opposing gender. The boy looked like he'd murder anyone but he still had a handsome face with that emotion-void expression. Nope not talking to him.

I then decide to go for the melanin-blessed girl with dark curls. Yup, that's my ride.

She sat there sipping from a cup while typing on her phone, a deadpan look on her face.

'She definitely looks more fun' I thought, joining her little party.

"Must be quite a show for you" I spoke up to which she looked at me, taken aback for a while.

"Feel free to come watch" she replied, matching my level of sarcasm, making me smile a bit

"Name's Raven"

"Cora"

"You look delighted to be here" I spoke up after a minute or two of silence between us. Well, not really silence considering the noise but you know what I mean.

"Oh really? Must really be telling on my face" she replied, keeping up with my sarcasm as she faced me with a fake grin on.

'I like her humor' I thought as I chuckled.

"If so, why are you here then? You look like you'd rather watch me paint the wall than be here" I query and immediately face-palm myself for that dumbass question.

Maybe she came with her boyfriend or some friends or like me got dragged by her sweet but annoying best friend.

Orrrr... Maybe she just came to party like everyone else. Ugh, obviously Raven, this is a freaking party but she looks anything but in a partying spirit.

Shrugging, she replied shutting down all the theories I tried coming up with "I wouldn't wanna miss this, I mean I only came here for the show like that..." She pointed at a boy puking all over a girl's skirt and shoes, while the girl screamed and yelled profanities at the boy.

I wouldn't lie, it's hilarious.

"Watching stuffs like that is amusing enough right?"
