Kate's PoV:

I watched Chris walk to Sarah and explain to her she needed chips while she tried to argue with him about everything, I smiled at that sight, but my attention was quickly diverted when Aston called me.

"So Kate"

" Yes?" I took a look at him watching him smile at me

"Are you okay? How is everything?"

"Didn't you ask me something like that when we met?" I questioned laughing

"Maybe I did yeah, but I felt like you were trying to rush everything"

"Maybe I was" I looked down at my drink, and I though about how this week was so out of everything I expected meeting old faces from the past, a bunch of them in a short time and space was definitely a lot to deal with.

Asthon wasn't a bad guy, nothing like that he was just a funny guy and a player, and not in the gambling sense. He was my first boyfriend but definitely not my first love, he was this guy I dated because he was cute and popular and at the time I didn't think it through. I was only 14 so I think I can use that as an excuse.

After we dated for two months, I broke up with him because he was simply the kind of guy who had fun with everyone, and I was too young to deal with that. I was just comfortable with being his friend, although we kissed. I remember at the time being like huge news to the old school; I barely felt anything for him. It was so out of my regular self that I kept thinking over the next years why I did it.

Besides everything he is a great guy. He simply wasn't the guy for me.

"I guess I did rush things up... the truth is ... I barely know what I am doing with my life" I told him truthfully

"I know how that feels" He mentioned as he leaned into the bar counter " I tried my best to build and expand this and it's doing great, better than I ever imagined yet it's like I don't feel rewarded, y'know? It's stupid but- "

"No... I get it. I totally get it. I had this amazing thing in my life, really the best you could ask for and I just threw it away without thinking because I felt like I - Maybe I was being too picky or selfish, maybe I didn't felt rewarded enough" I let it out

"Well I get that I really do. The 20's are so weird, dude" He laughed and I joined him, I was about to talk to Ash but a ringing tone interrupted me and my heart ached immediately, who is it now?

I looked at my phone and I saw Alicia's name in big bright letter and a sensation of relief washed down my body.

"I am sorry I need to take this" I told him

He nodded, understanding "Sure" 

I walked around trying to find a good place to have a conversation and thankfully I found a balcony that muted the jazz music from inside

"Alicia?" I picked up

"Hey boss... I am sorry to call you"

"It's okay is everything alright? Did something happened to the magazine?" I questioned

"No, it's not that. Everything is great and having amazing feedback with the Vogue magazine something else happened" I was relieved for a moment but that something else she mentioned made my tummy in a whirl

"What happened?"

"Your mom came by" She told me as I furrowed my eyebrows, my mom traveling to New York alone? Thta does not sound like her "She was here with Antonhy" and suddenly my heart dropped "I wasn't here yet and the recepyionist let them come in and when I arrived your office door was open"

"Anthony knows the passcode of the door" I told her and a sensation of sadness, confusion and anger built up in me

"I am really sorry boss I should've been here sooner"

"Alicia-"

"If only I knew they were coming"

"Alicia it's fine"

"When I walked in, the office was the same but the computer was on" SHe mentioned as I took a sharp breath that felt like pins minced into my heart

"Just send me the security cameras videotape and I will handle it" I told her so she could came down herself

"Your mom said she would come here everyday"

"What does that mean?"

"She is not going away she even brought lunch, it's like they are waiting for you because they know you would come back here" Alicia said with a teary voice

"Hey Alicia, it's fine okay, I will handle it. Anything call me. Just go have some rest and whatever you do don't tell them where I am"

"yes, boss. I won't. I am sorry again"

"Go rest, you and the others you can close for today"

"Ok, thank you and I wish you the best"

"Thanks, Al" I let out a soft smile and when she hung up I took a deep breath that I had been holding onto since the middle of this conversation. What am I supposed to do now? My mom has gone mad and Anthony went through my stuff? I can't even think about that, what the hell is going on with them? Did they team up? Either way, they didn't need to be this disrespectful.

Invading my work space where other people work and going through my stuff? He didn't do that when we were together so why doing it now?

The whirlwind of emotions in me was uncontrollable and the cigarette smoke reaching my nose certainly didn't do any better, I looked around to see where the smoke came from and I noticed it came from downstairs from the side of the pub where two guys were talking to each other.

As I watched closely I realised I knew those two guys. It's like it just keeps getting worse.

"Hey, Katie Pie what are you doing there?"

"You know... counting sheep" I replied ironacly as I watched Chris laugh while Jackson simply kept smoking

"How is it going?"

"Great! I have counted two by now" I said forcing a smile and walking right in. I catched a glimpse of a blonde girl in a white short dress touching her phone like she was filling in a complaint.

"Hey...." I said a but scared of her anger to her phone "WHat happened?"

"I just did it"  she said as she took a breath and looked at me

"What did you do?" I said not really getting it

"I am sorry. I know he is your friend but I just filled the lawsuit against Christopher"

"You really did it ?" I said in shock

"Yeah, he said that no woman like me could ever win a case against him"

"I told you he was a psycopath" I laughed knowing Christopher and his competitive side, he would surely said that in a joking way but with proud and I am sure that was enough for Sarah to explode.

"I did it, I am sorry" she said

"No need to say sorry, but please don't get each other in jail"

"We agreed on seeing would pay the highest due

"I hope you win then" I said with a smile

"Isn't this worrisome why are you smiling?"

"Well you are finally doing something with that law knowledge, so I am happy for you although it's not the best circumstances" I explained

"Right...thanks " she took me in a tight hug that I didn't know I needed "by the way I am probably staying a bit more here I need to meet Tommy" she mentioned in my ear as I recalled Agnes and Norbert son, that was also a lawyer that had agreed to help her.
"You can go to New York I will stay here for a bit"

But that reminded me of everything that was going on in New York and what would possibly happen if I returned, my mother would kill me and I would have to face Antonhy.

"I am staying to" I said and she quickly got back from our hug to look me at my face with a worried expression

"What happened??"

"Arent you happy?" I questioned

"I know something happened for you not to get back"

"Yeah.." I mentioned as my eyes looked down, she understood it was something bad so she guided me to a nice red couch sitting us there to talk

"What happened?" she questioned as she looked at my face trying to catch every expression of it

"Alicia called" I breathed she nodded for me to carry on "My mom and Anthony went to my work"

"What?"

"My mom claims to be there till I get back and Antonhy went to my office"

"He did what?"

"Alicia said it was the same but the computer was on"

"He went through your things? What the fuck is he on?"

"I can't go back I will have to face him and my mom and I just don't want to"

"And you shouldn't are they throwing a tantrum like 5 years old when they don't have what they want?! You need space why can't they respect it? You have been answering every single message of them, of both of them saying you are fine and just need space why can't they respect it?" Sarah shouted clearly angry at my moms and Anthony's behaviour

"Well they are not you, I guess"

"I get your mom, its mother instincts she needs to see her daughter however I am not giving an excuse for her behaviour. Now Anthony that is too much." she mentioned

"Yeah it is" I agreed

"I don't know what happened to you, but I don't need to know I will just support you always. I know you will tell me when you feel like too and that's okay but seriously if he was aggressive to you or if he had this type of behaviour when you were together I will sue him!" I have a soft smile at her sweet way of protecting me

"He wasn't like this, I never saw him once going through my stuff, this is just weird" I mentioned, not really knowing what should I do with all of this information about my mom but specially about Anthony.

"We should go back to the hotel" Sarah mentioned as she got up

"No I'm fine, really"

"We are going"

"Wait, no Sarah" I pulled her hand and she draw her attention to my face again and stopped trying to get me up so we could leave "the whole point of me coming here was to leave Anthony to stop thinking about him and to be the person I was with him, let me do this " I asked her she nodded softly understanding my point and giving a half smile but her sweetness quickly turned into a non amused face when she heard Christopher voice

"Oh here you are let's play some poker?" he asked as he fixed his suit

"Let's go " I mentioned to my relief Jackson wasn't with Cheis anymore so I tried to put on a happy face as we walked to a poker table to play.
