I watched the remake and not the original. Come after me bishes.

So, here's fifteen year old me, watching Beauty and the Beast, with the perspective of an intelligent mind that has aged like fine wine (What am I even saying?), waiting with abated breath for the titular Beast to finally appear (because I only watch Disney movies to trash talk the love interest), only for me to immediately loathe him as soon as he does. Why?

1. He locks Maurice up for stealing a rose.

Who the *beep* even does that? I mean, I get it, you spend days tending to the rose bushes, making sure everything looks perfect because what else can you do when you can't go out into the world without scaring the whole population. But locking someone in a prison for eternity for plucking a rose? That's a bit too extreme. Strike One, Prince Adam. Strike One.

Because Prince Adam is a master douche, it doesn't take him long to go from strike one to strike two.

2. He locks Belle up

Locking up a girl who did nothing after trying to negotiate to set the father free in exchange for the daughter? (yes, I know, Belle had a part in that. That still doesn't justify it) Seems to me like you're the one who needs to be locked up. In a psychiatric ward.

3. Not feeding his prisoner

Then to go as far as to forbid his servants from serving the prisoner? Lo and behold, strike three. And he's out. I mean, even in prison they feed the prisoners. Not the best food, but it's still food. And by the way, attempted murder (by starving a prisoner) warrants at least like ten years. Or execution. Forgive me, I'm not a history buff nor a lawyer.

Did ya think I was done? Oh, honey. I've barely even scratched the surface.

4. It's never too late to apologize, contrary to popular belief

He doesn't even thank Belle for choosing to stay with him to save his life, nor does he apologise for KIDNAPPING Belle ever. He has the audacity to say he loves her but doesn't apologise? That's what makes me most angry. That throughout the whole *beep* movie he didn't even bother to say two simple words that could maybe make me believe that he's truly changed. How is this even romantic?

What are you teaching our poor children, Disney? As long as you say I love you, you don't have to apologise for your mistakes? And you! Yes, I'm talking to you Wattpad audience, you base your bad boy characters on characters like Beast (Adam) who never apologise for their wrongdoings. For their borderline abuse. Nothing but mum when it comes to them apologizing.

Just, please, please, if your going to base your story on this sorry excuse for a character, just please, MAKE HIM APOLOGISE. MAKE HIM CORRECT THE ERROR OF HIS WAYS. AND DON'T LET THE GIRL EASILY FORGIVE HIM. HE MADE MISTAKES. HE NEEDS TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES.
