N I N E

It didn't take much to convince Kane, all it took was one look at the little girl and the vampire was convinced. Of course Renessme was adamant he saw what everyone else could so he playfully accepted.

"Wow, that girls just like her aunt, stubborn as hell." He joked, standing and looking towards Alessia with a wink as she laughed and shoved him.

Jacob was standing next to her and he laughed as well, taking Alessia's hand into his own. He'd been slowly releasing any anger or jealousy he felt towards the vampire as every time Alessia looked at Kane there was nothing but a platonic bond between them. Jake was curious about one thing though, "so man, what can you do?"

Alessia and Kane shared a look then, both raising brows and a smirk growing on their lips as more of their friends arrived.

"Oh Jacob, I don't think it's wise to ask that question." Kate Denali said as she stood with her sister and a nomad known as Garrett.

"What's that suppose to mean?" He retorted. His gaze flickered towards Bella who was picking her child up and shrugged her shoulders, she was as clueless as he was.

"These two and Edward, well lets just say they were more on the reckless side in the thirties." Garrett spoke up, pointing towards Kane and Alessia. "He was like the missing link to them."

Alessia sighed, tilting her head in Jacobs direction. "You honestly don't want to know."

"Try me." Jacob scoffed, a challenging look towards Kane.

The vampires around them laughed lowly, Alessia sighing and stepping out of the way. Her eyes turned towards Kane with a threatening glare. "If there's any permanent damage I swear..."

"Promise, don't want a repeat of the 90's," he muttered with lifted hands.

She nodded, tapping her foot on the ground as Jacob awaited the pain. Alessia bit her bottom lip, she was all too familiar with Kane's powers and not because she had experienced them firsthand but because she had been by his side, laughing as he had induced pain to those they deemed fit. In the forties, when her and Edward had abandoned the ways of Carlisle they'd come across Kane. He was so innocent then, a newborn like them but so eager to learn. They'd taken him under their wings and together wrecked havoc, the three slaughtered the humans who were as much monsters as they were. Alessia could still taste the sense of power that coursed through her veins day and night, the way every step she took was like thunder encompassing the street and her smirk was as deadly as poison.

Of course, they'd come to their senses within a slow decade and thankfully managed to recover. Carlisle took them back in, showed Kane the ways of their own and had come full circle.

Now Alessia sucked in a deep breath, finding her brother next to her, his honey eyes finding her own as they shared with Kane that flash to the past once more.

She took a deep breath, erasing the memories from her present though and looked back to the matter at hand.

Kane's once friendly expression had dropped, his bushy brows were now furrowed in concentration as little to no movement was seen. Alessia knew this well, he'd explained the process countless of times and although he was very aware of his skills it was still slightly harder to get into the minds of other creatures. Humans and vampires had always been his trade, they were as easy as snapping a bone but he's never dealt with shape shifters before.

The forrest grew silent, everyone ready to witness what was no doubt to be a spectacle.

Kane exhaled one long breath and Jacob was then on the ground, the heels of his fists were pressing against his eyes. A scream left his lips, one loud and terrifying as he continued to wither in fear. Loud howls from the wolves surrounding them began to sound, all painful as they heard a fellow comrade and alpha in peril.

"Kane! Stop!" Alessia yelled over the screams, rushing forward to keep Jacobs body under control.

Kane seemed to be under the trance just as much as Jacob was because his honey eyes only grew deeper the longer he stood still and Jacobs screams sounded louder.

"KANE!" Alessia yelled, her friend wasn't listening. She stepped over Jacobs cowering body, his fingers were grasping at her ankles desperately. Alessia narrowed her eyes and focused on shutting down Kane. She felt her powers slowly start to take over, the ability to see through his eyes and ears encompassed her. Slowly she was inside his head, shutting down all abilities as Kane fell back and Jacob stopped screaming. Garrett caught her best friend as she sighed and dropped to the ground, grasping Jacobs shaky features between her fingers.

"Hey," she pulls his hands apart. Her heat feels like it's drenching in pain, squeezing as if it was still alive and beating for him. All her worries are for him, there's nothing more but the remorse she feels for Jacob. "Jake, hey, hey. You're okay."

Jacob trembled as he stood, slowly picking himself back up as he kept his eyes locked on the strawberry blonde and his fingers were digging into her solid skin. His heart had accelerated to the point of concern had he not been a wolf.

"What did you see?" Alessia questioned, eyes softening the longer he stayed silent, she moved her hands to the top of his head where a single drop of sweat was crossing. She brushed it away before bringing her eyes back.

"You... I could see you dying... over and over and I couldn't stop it. I couldn't stop you from dying."

Alessia swallowed at his words, finding the eyes of everyone surrounding her as she simply patted her head against his chest and let Jacob hold her between his arms. She didn't need to say a word to let him that they would be okay. It was strange to her the difference a few months could make, surely this would have never happened even in her wildest dreams when they first met but yet here they were; Jacob clinging onto her like his soul depended on it.

Kane stood after a few moments, supported by Garrett he shook his head. He turned his eyes towards his best friend, "Alessia... I'm sorry!"

She held her hand up, holding no grudge in her body. "It's fine Kane, I understand."

Jacob seemed to visibly relax in her arms, steadying his heart to an even beating as he looked up.

Renessme climbed off her mother, walking towards the couple slowly. She smiled at her aunt, turning towards Jacob with a innocent. "Uncle Jake, you okay?"

The small child rarely spoke, which seemed to catch all of them off guard, Jake included, who straightened up and brought the young girl into his arms. "Yeah I'm good Ness, sorry I just had a rough moment there."

Alessia sighed in relief, following her mate as they both stood and he held the little girl in his arms.

"You sure?" She sent him thru thought as to keep the situation a little more private as the vampires dispersed.

He nodded, kissing the top of her head and then Renessme's, and that was all she needed to know he was going to be okay.

Bella was a shield, or so Eleazar had explained.

Apparently her abilities were much like Aro's protective guard, Rowena, and that gave them one hell of an advantage.

"Since my abilities aren't as painful as Kate's," Alessia eyes the blonde who playfully rolled her eyes, "I think this will work. You just have to put the effort in Bella."

"It's not gonna work, it's not enough motivation." The Denali blonde called out, moving her head from one side to the other as she leaned against Garrett.

"Because electrocuting my brother was doing a hell of a difference." She retorted back.

"She has a point there," Garrett agreed beside Kate. "Plus I feel for Edward here, it hurts."

"Well then why don't we put Kane in there." She then suggested.

"Because my brothers brain is not gonna get scrambled." Alessia hummed.

"I second that." Kane muttered from his spot next to the trees.

"Okay, well if no ones going to take my suggestion I guess I'll—"

Alessia had been ready to laugh at the amount of jealousy her friend was radiating when her ears picked up on the sound of immediate rustling. Before any of them could react or Edward could calm his sister she was off because the sound of wolves howling and Jacob's growls sent her brain into overdrive.

She was off before most of them could even think to follow but when they did most caught up fairly quickly, still she was in the lead. All the red head could concentrate on was Jacobs beating heart and the thought that the Volturi had come early.

Jacobs had been teaching a group of kids how to control their sudden shifts, due to the sudden uprise in vampires many quiletes descendants had been forced to shift at young ages. Now most of the parents were concerned for their own safety as well as children with no ability. She felt stupid for letting him go alone, especially now.

The wolves were all crowded together around one big oak tree when she arrived, attempting to jump up it in order to get to the culprits.

Vladimir and Stefan.

Alessia swallowed, crossing hers arms as fury arose in her, they hadn't been invited for reason like this.

Her temper flared the longer she stood there, watching as they mocked her mate with kisses and sounds of laughter.

She cleared her throat, alerting them to her presence and both seemed rather amused at her anger. The blonde, Vladimir propped his elbow upon his thigh, laying the rest of his head against his fist while he viewed her fondly. "Ah, the witch."

She scoffed in annoyance, followed by Jacobs loud growl, clearly he was not amused by the look Vladimir was giving her although the wolves did calm down and retreat near her. "Again, not a witch although I will force you down and let these wolves at you."

Their smiles merely widened at her possible threat while Carlisle and the rest of the intrigued showed. He was nicer then his daughter however, "Vladimir, Stefan, you're a long way from home."

Kate was beside Bella as her nose flared in slight disgust at the Russians. "What are they doing here?"

Vladimir didn't seem to care much and neither did his partner. "We heard the Volturi were moving against you. But that you would not stand alone."

Carlisle clarified to them, "we didn't do what we were accused of."

"We do not care what you did, Carlisle." He answered back with a wave of his hand.

"We have been waiting a millennium for the ltalian scum to be challenged." The other one Stefan spoke.

"It's not our plan to fight the Volturi." Carlisle retorted to them.

"Shame. Aro's witnesses will be so disappointed." The blonde answered.

"They enjoy a good fight." Stefan said with amusement.

"Aro's witnesses?" Eleazar blurted out, looking around and swallowing as dread instantly overcame his face.

"Aww. Still hoping they'll listen?"

Alessia was almost consumed by the revelation when she noticed her best friend start to walk past her. His arm brushed against her own quite suddenly and she jerked her head in his direction.

Kane walked up to the group of wolves, falling onto the light grey wolf who had let out a startled noise from the back of her throat.

Kane walked forward until he was just only a few short feet away, eyes wide and mouth gaped.

Leah had been frozen until this moment, as all the vampires and wolves alike seemed to understand what was happening and then in one quick second she was off.

The wolf had run straight in the other direction, almost back towards the Cullen's houses. Kane didn't waste a second to follow her.

Alessia wanted to follow her best friend, possibly even to console or help what was happening but she couldn't because all her attention needed to be focused on the matter at hand.

The minutes after the Russians revelations of the Volturi's true intentions a thoughtful Eleazar had paced enough times to get the vampires attention. Kane was not present as he'd been trying to talk to Leah for some time now. They were all now standing around the living room as Elezar explained what the real purpose of this visit was. "When Aro wants someone from a coven it's never long before evidence turns up proving that coven committed some crime.

Bella perked up at this. "So he's done this before?"

Eleazar nodded his head although his mind raced on as he remembered the past. "It happens so rarely, I never realized it was a pattern."

"Apparently he always pardons one person whose thoughts he claims are repentant." Carlisle spoke up.

The old Volturi members were now putting their heads together. "This person always has an ability. And they're always given a place with the Guard."

"This is all about Alice." Edward stated the obvious.

Alessia almost wanted to laugh, finding it so ridiculous that the real answer had been staring them in the face this whole time. "He has no one like her. Of course, that's why she left."

"Why does he need witnesses?" Emmett questioned, which intrigued Alessia as well since it seemed foolish to have other witness a slaughter.

"To spread the word that justice has been served. After he slaughters an entire coven." Alistair, a hermit among vampires had joined them. He looked less then pleased at any of what was happening as he spoke and turned back towards the attic where he had frequented since his arrival.

Amun, the Egyptian coven leader, was suddenly walking towards the door in a ferocity. He barely paid attention to his mate as his eyes locked onto his adoptive son.  "Benjamin, Tia, we're leaving."

Edward stood firmly, seeming to have let go of any restraint he had in him, after all this was his family on the line. "And where will you go? What makes you think they'll be satisfied with Alice? What's to stop them from going after Benjamin next? Or Zafrina or Kate or anyone else with a gift? Anyone they want. Their goal isn't punishment, it's power. It's acquisition. Carlisle might not ask you to fight, but I will. For the sake of my family. But also for yours. And for the way you want to live."

There was such a silence amongst them all it sent chills through Alessia who realized that her family might be alone in this all. Jacob from beside her squeezed their interlocked fingers together. He stood, tall and strong as he brought her with him and hugged her body to his sides. "The packs will fight. We've never been afraid of vampires."

"We will fight." The Denali women joined in.

Garrett was quick to follow behind Kate. "This won't be the first time I fought a king's rule."

"We'll join you." Benjamin and his mate soon followed.

"No." His leader responded.

"I will do the right thing, Amun." He rebelled, standing up. "You may do as you please."

Senna, from the Amazonian coven also joined. "We will stand with you."

The leader of the Irish coven, Siobhan was another who joined. "So will we."

Soon enough all of them were joining in, ready to fight if it came too. Alessia smiled at Jacob, mouthing a silent thank you as he nodded her way.

Edward nodded at them all and then called out. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

"Whatever happens though, we can do this." Alessia reassuringly stated to her brother

"We'll see." Alistair's last words were attempted to be ignored.

Days passed and although it seemed like the vampires could only center around the impending standoff the world still went on around them. It was nearing Christmas and as much as Alessia tries to forget about it Jacobs playful hums to Renessme about the day were a constant reminder.

The three of them were currently settled in Alessia's bedroom, it was the only place the vampires refused to venture into considering it reeked of wolves. They were fine with that, Jacob and his pack especially since they always used the bed and mattress to sleep whenever the ground outside got to rough.

Nessie was currently watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jacob while she sat on her aunts lap. The three were silently watching Jim Carey at his peak acting skills when Bella walked in.

She'd been lurking somewhere in the halls for quite some time, listening to her daughters endless questions while Alessia never once grew tired of answering or even Jacob. At some point she'd even caught a peak of Jacob singing along to the Mr. Grinch song, tapping the little girl on the nose at some point just to watch her giggle loudly, Alessia joining in.

"It's time, grandpa's waiting and so are the Clearwaters." Bella introduced herself into the room, arms crossed as she leaned against the doorway.

She had a smile of satisfaction upon her face, almost as if tears would fall from her eyes if possible and although Ness and Jacob started to stretch their limbs Alessia noticed. The look of fondness on her sister in laws face, although amused her, did also have her slight concerned.

"Have a great day you three, I am going to help Esme put up the rest of the Christmas decorations.

She stood from the bed, pulling her top down as she smiled at them all. While they were going to be gone she was going to finish decorating and then strategize with Benjamin and Garrett, hopefully to defend themselves for the impending battle.

"Actually Alessia," Bella spoke up. "I was hoping you would help me with for the Christmas shopping?"

Alessia finally took in her attire, the long black trench coat and her heels. Bella's hair was flared around her face and the added shine to her lips was unmistakable. She was lying.

"Ooh, that sounds fun." Jacob muttered, not noticing what the red head did. "I like sports if anyone cares."

Bella broke the stare between the two women and turned towards the wolf with a smile. "Depends on where you land on my list Jake, and how much longer it takes you to get in the car."

"Alright let's go," he answered, sticking his feet into the black Nike shoes and walking towards the door on Nessie's heels. He stopped, looking over his shoulder with a smile, "Alessia you coming?"

Bella held her breath, waiting for the answer as Alessia looked clam as ever. "You go, I'll be down soon."

|•|•|•|•|

When Alessia got into the car she was wearing a pair of black heels, a long sleeved dress with cut outs on the sleeves that showed off her pale skin, and a tan colored trench coat concealing it all. Her hair was slicked back into a low pony tail, small tendrils of golden red hair just missing the tie and loosely hanging besides her ear.

They drove in slight silence, Alessia only glancing back to Jacob with soft smiles.

"I'm surprised you took a break from Jedi training." Jacob spoke up after awhile.

Bella replied after a short moment as she pulled into the residential area. "If I don't take Renesmee to my dad, he'll come to us. 27 vampires, 1 human, not so great."

Jacob leaned between the consoles as Renessme was in her own world, looking out the window. "I know that's what you told Edward." Neither girl seemed to reply so he decided pressing the matter was not best. "Whatever. I'm just glad to get away from all those reeking bloodsuckers."

"Jacob..." Alessia began.

"I'm sorry. I know. They're the good guys. But come on, Dracula One and Two are creepy." He retorted back and both girls couldn't seem to disagree so they laughed.

They all got out of the car, Alessia lingering behind slightly as she was bound to get back in the vehicle within a few short minutes. Charlie Swan was already standing outside, waiting expectantly for his daughter and granddaughter. Sue Clearwater was by their side as well and no doubt Billy Black was somewhere inside. She'd always been fond of Bella's father, he reminded her a lot of her own and that's perhaps why they got along so well.

Charlie crouched downwards as Nessie ran right up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "There she is. Come here." He bounced her on his hip for awhile before turning to Sue and muttering. "Oh! Wow! Look at you. You've grown half a foot! Seriously. Like 6 inches."

"Come on inside. Lunch is on the table." Sue playfully swatted at his arm, calling out to all of them.

Charlie added on, "we got a tree to decorate, huh?"

"Actually Alessia and I have a few errands to run, guys. We'll be back soon, okay?" Bella softly waved off, not seeming to be hiding anything at all.

"Alright girls, be safe and careful!" Charlie seems to agree as he brought Sue and Renessme inside the house while Jacob lingered behind.

He turned to look at the small red head, "you be safe okay?"

Her golden eyes seemed to light up at the sound of his words before smiling. "If you promise the same."

"Can't get into much trouble here can I?"

She laughed, turning towards the car door as Bella was already inside, "you, Leah, and Seth? I should hope the place doesn't go up in smoke."

"I doubt that," he hummed back. "Leah's been pretty rough about last night, she hasn't spoken to Kane since she imprinted."

She sighed, "yeah well... I can't seem to find Kane anywhere either. I'll see you later though, I haven't thought much about Christmas."

He nodded, opening her door and pulling her closer to him as he kissed the top of her head. Alessia smiled at him, getting into the car as he shut the door and they were off.

Bella eyed the red head who couldn't seem to wipe the smile off her face, "wow."

"I know, I know." Alessia answered back, smiling fondly. "It's been a hell of a change."

"Can I ask you something?" Bella spoke after a brief nod. Alessia didn't answer. Mainly keeping her face neutral as she awaited. "If we made it out safe and you could do anything in the world after this, be anywhere? Where would yo go?"

"I want to go somewhere hot, where I can feel the sand between my toes and taste the salt in the air without needing to pretend to wear a jacket. I want to be somewhere that no one will be able to see me, somewhere I can be just me and no one else. Jacobs coming with me, I know he will." Alessia answered without hesitation.

"Isla Esme?"

"No." She firmly answered. "I've been searching for empty islands and I think I've found one near Fiji, it's completely uninhabited. It's perfect."

Bella frowned, clenching her fist against the wheel, "do you know a J. Jenks?"

And suddenly it all made sense, Alessia sat back as what Bella had unintentionally revealed settled in her mind. That name, of course it was familiar there was only one other person who ever dealt with that person. "Jasper."

"Alice actually." Bella clarified, keeping her eyes on the road.

The drive was silent as Alessia deliberated the impossible.

|•|•|•|•|

"We're meeting Mr. Jenks." Bella soft spoken voice was dazzling to the host who couldn't seem to put together the proper words at first. Alessia swallowed, looking around the nice restaurant where J. Jenks was known to be a usual.

The Host seemed to finally take her eyes away from both their faces long enough to nod and walk away from the stand. "Right this way."

He walked towards the back of the restaurant where a more secluded part was hidden and a plump, black man was waiting for them. Alessia knew him very well over the years and his frightened smile was always the same, even the little beads of sweat never changes. "Mrs. Cullen. Ms. Alessia."

Bella and Alessia shook his hand, the girls answering in unison. "Hi."

Jenks pulled both their seats out and then took his own before speaking once more. "I'm so happy you called. I always meet my private clients here. It's more comfortable than the office."

Bella nodded, noticing his obvious nerves as his eyes briefly flickered towards Alessia. She also took notice of how he was was reluctant to sit near Alessia and his eyes flickered her way every minute or so. "And it's more public."

Jenks smiled at her, seeming to have answered her question in that simple move.

"What type of work do you do, J.?" Bella questioned curiously

"Did Ms.Alessia not inform you?" He responded.

Alessia seemed to respond to this as she leaned forward with a very sweet smile, "I thought I'd save that one for J."

Jenks swallowed thickly and somehow Bella felt a chill run up her back, she'd never seen the wrath of Alessia Cullen like the rest of her family but somehow in that small moment she caught a glimpse and that was enough for her. Jenks turned towards the brunette and shrugged his shoulders when responding. "Oh, you know, this and that. It's always different, which keeps it interesting."

Bella nodded. "Have you known Alessia and Jasper long?"

"I've been working with them for more than 20 years. And my late partner knew Jasper 15 years before that. He is, uh, unusually well-preserved." Jenks was careful to tread lightly around the situation as best possible, of course Alessia knew he had his suspicions but that's about as much as he would ever be able to do. The partner had gone to the grave with their secret and Jenks would do the same.

Bella smiled, "Yes, he is."

Jenks cleared his throat and proceeded. "I trust that Mr. Jasper is enjoying his vacation."

Bella furrowed her brows along with Alessia who was slowly starting to put together what Alice had done. "He didn't tell you where he was going, did he?"

"No, no, no," Jenks shook his head. "He just mentioned that he was leaving when he came by to place his order."

"Well Alice's always had a thing for the theatrics," Alessia mumbled as she sipped at her water.

Bella ignored her comment as she focused on the important task "I assume that his order is ready?"

"Of course. I've never been late with a delivery." Jenks nodded, revealing a yellow envelops underneath his napkin. Alessia had seen packages like this before countless times, but this time she had no idea what was inside it.

Bella didn't respond as she practically ripped into the package, finding a set of passports, ID's, and birth certificates for three. She opened them all and found only Renessme, Jacobs, and Alessia's name on the fake identifications. Of course their last names were different but matched the same—Wolfe.

The ginger haired girl squeezed the table linens as dots connected in her head and she even heard Bella suck in a quick breath as she did her best to keep composed.

Jenks seemed to notice the reactions from both women as he cleared his throat to gain their attention. "There a problem?"

Bella shook her head. "No. My husband and I thought that we'd all be traveling together."

Jenks was firm in his answer. "Jasper said only three were traveling. His instructions were very clear."

"It's my mistake. Apparently, that's not going to happen." Bella soft voice seemed to drift off.

Alessia came to a finalization, she was going to live wether the battle ensued or not but unfortunately her family wouldn't. She was going to lose everyone, except Jacob and Nessie and that just wasn't okay. She would do it though, because it's what Bella would ask her and what Edward would too if he knew.

|•|•|•|•|

Bella and Alessia had driven the car to Forks in silence, the trees flying behind them as they went all over the speed limit but neither seemed to care.

At some point Bella sucked in a clear breath, "I want you to know that I didn't know about this. I'd hoped we would all be able to live but I'm happy with this. Jacob and you raising Ness—I couldn't think of anything better. You have to tell her about us, about Edward and I, Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, Jasper, the wolves, and even my dad. You have to tell her about how we met and how we fell into this story. I'm gonna write her letters but she needs to know that she came from nothing but love and we died loving her. "

Alessia was crying, her heart breaking all over again as she imagined losing her best friends. Her family was everything to her and although she'd have a piece of them with her through Renessme it still wasn't the same. "I'll protect her with my life, Jake and I will both do everything we can. I promise."

Alessia reached over and intertwined her fingers with Bella's, squeezing tightly to assure her that even if she wasn't there to see it, Renessme would live a happy life.

|•|•|•|•|

"Hey, sorry I had to drive my dad back home." Jacob told Alessia as he came out of the woods. She'd been waiting for him since arriving home, having ran into the woods until she found a spot to sit and wait for him to return. The wheels had turned in her head for so long it was practically drowning her to think of the possibilities. The reality of losing her loved ones was weighing heavily on her which made other decision much clearer.

Jacob stopped in his tracks, noticing her eyes were glossed over in a way that made his heart beat faster. "Alessia, what's wrong?"

She stared at him, a sad smile displayed on her lips. Even though she was immortal life was slipping through her fingers... a lot of it and she just couldn't let it keep going without taking some advantage.

She stood up without answering his question, rushing forward so her petite body knocked against his tall frame and wrapped her arms around his neck. Her hands found themselves running through the black waves of his hair, pulling his tall frame down until she found his lips.

The way his plump lips molded to hers was so familiar and so intoxicating she never wanted to let go and Jacob certainly wasn't protesting. He wrapped his hands around her small waist, digging his fingers into her skin almost like they would mold into one.

Jacob sucked in a huge breath of air when they pulled apart, touching his forehead to her own. "Alessia, you okay?"

She stared at his brown skin and the chocolate brown to his eyes, the way his cheeks were now an even brighter shade of pink and his pupils had sprouts of vibrancy rushing through them. "No, not at all but I need you to know that I love you Jacob. I have for a long time—I love you Jacob Black."

"It's okay," he answered back, running his finger against the porcelain skin under her eyes. "I love you Alessia, which is why I'm here to make it all better."

|•|•|•|•|

Wow okay so I should apologize for such a long ass wait for an update, I would make up an excuse but honestly I just don't want this story to end so I've been putting it off for a long time. This is such s long chapter though which I'm proud of and I think my babies are finally together??? So what did you think? Also I'm thinking of writing an AU after this because I'm not ready to let them go and I'm thinking of writing one with Alacob children or one where the battle actually happened and Alacob + Renessme's life afterward? Thoughts?
