"If you don't talk about it then I'll make you, and we both know how much that hurts our heads." Alessia had tapped her best friend on the shoulder, forcing Kane to look up from looking at the chipping paint on the porch steps. He rolled his eyes in response, knowing exactly how arguments like these would go down, she'd come into his mind, he'd strike her with small spouts of fear, she'd roll her eyes in annoyance and continue trying to go around them until both of them were hissing from the pain of the others attack and eventually they'd give up.

The redhead didn't mean for it to be like that, she wasn't one to force information out but sometimes Kane was stubborn. He would rather destroy the world then give up information and that just wasn't healthy so sometimes Alessia had to be a bit persuasive.

"At the expense of our friends not witnessing our tantrums, fine," he answered her, watching as she smiled happily and took a comfortable seat. "I managed to get Leah to talk to me."

"And?" Alessia mumbled, making a wave with her hands for him to go on. It'd been hard enough getting Leah to open up with all her sass she didn't need her best friends smart ass mouth.

"Well it went better then I expected... I mean she talked to me." He answered her although by the way his eyes dropped and stayed put on his calloused hands the conversation hadn't gone as smoothly as he had hoped.

"What did she say?"

"She said a lot," he responded. "Mostly about the fact that nothing in her life could go right and just when she was getting better it all went south once more. I didn't think the words "we're a damn disaster" could sound so cute coming from anyone. I don't know Alessia... I want to be with her, I can feel that we'd be perfect but she could barely look at me."

Alessia felt her heart break for her best friend, she too had been in a similar situation once before and although she couldn't exactly predict that it would work out she knew the power of both mates and imprints, it was something your couldn't entirely control yourself. She sighed, feeling his head lay on her shoulder. "Listen, I get it... of all people I do so you just have to give her the time. An imprint isn't just a soulmate sometimes, it's being a friend and right now that's all you can be. Don't give up hope entirely but don't push it either."

"I have no other option so that sounds about right." He hummed in acceptance. They stayed in silence after that.

"If it makes you feel any better Jake went to talk with her." Alessia encouraged.

"So I'm assuming we will be hearing the house shake as she throws him against the wall?"

"Don't be absurd, Leah doesn't come into the house. It'll be a tree or a mountain."

"Let's hope it's not the same one you put Edward through."

Alessia grasped one side of his cheeks with her thumb and index finger, squeezing the soft skin. She mimicked his foreign accent to the T with her next words. "Don't look so glum love, it'll work out soon enough. If anything, mate, she didn't put you through a wall."

That at least got a chuckle out of the man.

It's difficult to conceive that souls like Jacob Black and Alesia Cullen would have ever matched in anything... much less love but yet that seemed to be the most important similarity they had of one another. Their love was different, it wasn't a tidal wave of passion that crushed over their bodies and captivated their very wills until it was an unbearable pain they finally gave into. If there was anyone that could contradict their love it would be Bella and Edward, where they were an eruption of instantaneous actions Jacob and Alesia were the slow rivers of lava; slow and steady, something they wished to run from but ultimately fell a pair of glad victims too finally. In truth, the eventual couple were adamant that together they would cost more emotional turmoil then sanctity and at first they were more then right, but, as like lava it was a slow process that eventually left them cleansed and molded for new adventures.

Jacob Black led his red haired imprint through the woods, the two having spent the trek laughing and all around enjoying one another's company. It'd been a spur of the moment thought from the Alpha, something he hadn't entirely been meaning to do at all but trusted the sudden thought in his head.

As the snow began to stick to the ground and the December days began to dwindle down he'd seen the crease between Alesia's brows crease even further, a trait he didn't like to witness.

She was just finishing her talk with Kane when Jacob showed up. He'd wrapped his arm around her waist, bringing her cold body into his own warmth and speaking into her hair. Alesia had raised her brows in question at the odd request but with a small bite of her lips had agreed. She'd nodded at her brother who had smiled at both of them and then followed Jacob out of the Cullen territory and into the woods where they'd trekked a few miles into reservations until they'd finally made it back to the Black residence.

"Remind me again, why are we here?" Alessia forgot about their prior conversation to look up towards Jacobs small home. It felt like another lifetime since her first visit here, things has changed so many times since then it was odd to thing she'd stood here a few months.

"Well, I don't think I've ever actually shown you me— my version of me." Jacob explained, tightening his hand over her petite one. It still felt so unreal to hold her hand, to know Alessia was as close as he'd always dreamed. Her bright smile was directed his way and yet again the spark of an illusion filled him.

"Hmm... well that's certainly an interesting way to speak." She said, hazel eyes boring into his own. "So tell me, what's this version of you do here?"

"Well for starters I don't spend a lot of time in there, well besides my sleeping but even that I do on occasion." He explained, pointing with their conjoined hands to the small shack. "Don't get me wrong, I don't mind it but since my sisters been back and Paul's over all the time, not to mention my dad it's kind of hard to find some peace there so since I can't find it there I find it in the shack."

"The shack?"

"Yeah," he released her hand to wrap it over her shoulders and place the other one behind her knees, lifting her straight into his torso. Jacob was careful not to walk to fast, she may have been agile but the mud was thick and she was wearing booted heels. A small gasp left her lips but Jacob silenced her with a kiss. "You'll like it, I promise."

Alesia laughed, finding it incredibly adorable that he was carrying her to his home. "Jacob, I think you forget sometimes I'm a vampire."

"No I don't." He grinned, "you forget that you're half my size and also I walk way too fast."

"Oh," she hummed but didn't comment any further as Jacob kicked the metal doors open. He set her down after a moment and the smell of gasoline as well as other various chemicals hit Alessia's nose with strength.

She looked around, finding that the small shack was much smaller then the home but held one car—a truck to be specific, it was an older model and had the hood popped open. The truck itself took up much of the space, the rest of it was occupied by shelves of tools Rosalie also had stocked in the Cullen's garage, there was a few chairs off to the center as well as a hammock with a pillow hanging. She raised her brow, understanding how Jacob could get some sleep in here now.

She walked towards the passenger side of the truck, sending her fingers over the chipped black paint of the truck. "What is it?"

"An old ford, it's vintage." Jacob answered and Alesia nodded her car, the car appeared to be a classic and was near restoration from her perspective although an expert like Rose would have a better understanding. "I finished it yesterday."

She turned around, smiling at him as a proud grin made its way to his face. "That's great, you gonna sell it?"

"Actually," Jacob shut the metal doors and walked quickly, grasping her hand once more and tugging her until she was by the passenger door. He opened it quickly, suggesting she get in, "I was thinking of keeping it."

Alesia raised a brow, getting into the truck and sliding against the black leather seat. It was one of those cars that didn't have individual seats but was one back cushion. It was pushed as far back as possibly as her short longs couldn't reach the dashboard, clearly accommodated for Jacob. She waited until he'd shut the door and went around to his side so she could speak again. "So you keep it? What does a man who can run faster then this thing can go need with it?"

"It's for us," Jacob explained, leaning against the shut door and extending his legs against the seat. "When we survive, when all of this is over you and I can get out of here for awhile. My dad's got Rachel now and with her job they'll be fine, Paul's here too and besides we won't be gone forever but I figured we need time. You and I... we can go up to Alaska in this thing or wherever you want. We can get out of here, just start over together, I figure we need this more then anyone else."

Alessia bit her bottom lip, the warmth from her grin spreading until she could feel the tingle in her stomach extending to her toes and she wanted nothing more then to kiss Jacob. She leaned over, bringing her fingers to wrap around his thick hair and his lips to meet her own. She didn't need to say another word, in fact every single I love you she could give was in that fiery kiss that seamed them together as one.

Jacob made a noise of happiness in the back of his throats as he felt her fingers lowering from his hair to the sides of his neck, the shirt over his chest until she was pulling at the hem of his shirt. She was so intoxicating, so consuming he almost forgot to answer as she began to hum against his lips, "off, Jacob shirt off."

He pulled away, looking into her blown out eyes, if it was possible his heart would be hammering out of his heart like a cartoon. This was it, this was everything he'd wanted for a long time and she was here willingly giving her heart to him and somehow he just needed to make sure that it was real, that this wasn't a spur of the moment decision but it was as slow as their love, as forthcoming as everything that they meant to one another.

He licked his lips, " are you sure about this?" Running his thumb softly over the pale skin of her jaw, finding her delicate features as beautiful as the mosaics he'd studied once in art class, she was a lot like them.

Alessia nodded without a doubt, "this is what I want Jacob, this is what we want."

"Yeah, yeah it is." He answered back, pulling the black shirt over his head and throwing it out the window. They'd fought this war too long and now as they slowly gave in, breaking that last line that kept them from one another entirely it was almost holy, earth shattering to say the least.

They hadn't found it in themselves to leave, much less get dressed.

Amongst the hell that had developed in their lives over the past month they'd found a small piece of heaven in the front seat of that truck. Alessia traced the dips in Jacobs arms, his finger trailing over her naked back as she laid into him.

Jacob felt his eyes were growing heavy but knowing she couldn't sleep, knowing what had happened only moments ago kept him awake and playing with the scarlet tangles in her hair.

"I didn't ever think this would happen, after I messed up I didn't think it would ever happen. And now you're here... and I know Renessme isn't ours but it feels like it sometimes and when I hold you two I feel like a family."

Alessia lifted herself, using the heels of her hands to get a better view of Jacobs face, he was smiling so softly at her she wanted to melt away at how much his words actually meant to him. If it were even possible she would be crying right now but all she could manage to do was smile because he had hit home on something very important.

One of her hands curled into his hair and softly had his eyes meet hers as she fought against every moral bone in her body and forced him under her control. She sucked in a huge breath, "I'm so relieved to hear you say that Jacob because now I have to tell you something you can't remember until the right moment and if that moment comes up. You gotta bury this deep in your mind, lock it away because Nessie's life depends on it and Bella's entrusted that both of us keep her safe if anything goes wrong. Alice gave us a way out, all three of us and just us. If things seem to be going wrong and it doesn't look like we will settle peacefully you and I will take Nessie as far away from here as possible. Bella's given us a means to get as far away and I've got a variety of places we can live, actually islands where it'll be just us and no one else. We're going to be on the run for a long, long time but it'll be okay because we will ensure Renessme's survival. I need you to be ready though, and to remember at the right time but not a moment too soon. I love you so much and I'm sorry that I'm doing this to you but you said it yourself, Ness is like our kid too and we have to ensure her survival just as much as Bella and Edward."

She kissed him right after, locking away the moment in his subconscious so all he would be able to remember would be her kisses. Jacob gave in willingly, once more controlling himself as he moved her closer.

Alessia attempted her best to forget the moment as well, but that was the curse of being a mind controller... she was able to manipulate everyone but herself.
