So the swim team got chewed out today by one of the captains today for bad turn out at team bonding, and like, wtf?

I get it, in some cases it shows lack of care, but we're all high schoolers, and, in most cases, people probably have shit going on, or something else. Like I've been having family stuff lately so no I'm not going to your fucking pumpkin carving Karen. With the exception of about three girls there has been no one else that said Captain knows are simply absent because they don't wish to be there.

Now I get that we're supposed to be a team, and I get that she wants us all to bond, but there is one meet left and then the season is over, and we have two dinners that almost everyone is going to be at, so I don't know why it's such a big deal?

I mean maybe she thinks that we just want to not do anything, but like, she doesn't know, she doesn't know if anyone else is having issues, if someone is struggling to much to show up, if someone is having family issues, if someone's dog just died, she doesn't know.  So she doesn't really have the right to go out and say she's disappointed in us all, because we have other things in our lives, we have jobs, we have school work, we have families, just because she doesn't have a life and can go to all of the team bonding things doesn't mean the rest of us can.

Idk I think I might be unnecessarily pissed off, but tbh too many people assume too many things about other people.
