CHAPTER FOUR — ZORD TIME
sporix unleashed — part two

"Good luck, Yellow Ranger." — solon

AFTER THEIR FAILED BATTLE WITH SHOCKHORN (ADA WASN'T SURE IF YOU WOULD CLASS IT AS A DEFEAT) THE FOUR RANGERS RETURNED TO THE BASE BENEATH DINOHENGE. With a sigh, Ada and the others demorphed to their original clothes as they accepted the outcome of their first official battle. She thought she could have done better, that she should have done better. She was Ada Cranston after all. So she had been given everything she needed to be an excellent Ranger. But it didn't turn out that way. And Ada couldn't help but wonder what her Aunt Trini would think of her after that display.

Shaking herself from her thoughts, Ada looked up to see Solon heading their way. "How did it go?" Neither Ranger was eager to meet her gaze.

"It stank—" Ollie simply said. "In more ways than one."

As Ollie gave Zayto an unimpressed look, Amelia continued. "Yeah, the Sporix beasts got away."

"We weren't expecting two at once."

Then Amelia grinned as she turned to Zayto. "But that stink attack was awesome." And then, like a giddy child, she said. "I wanna try a Boost Key. Can it make me taller, stronger, faster?"

"Make me stop believing in ghosts?" Piped in Ollie and Amelia smiled dropped.

Ada gave the Blue Ranger a disapproving look over what he said about Amelia. Then she returned her attention to Zayto. "How many different keys are there?"

Nodding at each of the three Rangers in front of him, Zayto told them. "You'll find out. But right now, we need to warn people, especially if the Sporix beasts are teaming up."

"Bad guys teaming up is never a good thing."

From her pocket, Amelia withdrew her phone and gasped. "Whoa, that Sporix beast video has thousands of views." Oh how Ada hoped that meant her Dad hadn't seen it. He may try and take her away from Pine Ridge when he finds out about the monsters. And as a Ranger, she couldn't let that happen. "And now there's a city-wide alert for people to watch out for them."

Oh dear.

And as if on cue, the phone in Ada's pocket started to ring. She pulled it from her jacket and gulped nervously when she saw DADZILLA pop up onto the screen.

"Uh, guys." Ada gulped nervously as her Dad tried to ring her. "I'm gonna have to take this. I think my Dad knows about the Sporix beasts."

"Wouldn't that be a good thing? He'll be aware."

With a shake of her head, Ada replied. "No, it wouldn't. We moved to Pine Ridge to get away from all this stuff. Now he knows about the Sporix, he may try and move us again."

"Take the call." Nodded Zayto as the others too turned to Ada with concerned looks. They couldn't lose their friend and fellow Ranger. "We'll be alright."

So, with that, Ada quickly left the room and closed the door behind her. She couldn't risk him hearing anything about Sporix beasts or Rangers or anything that would give her new secret away. Then, once she knew she was clear, she took a deep breath and answered the phone.

"Ada, Baby Girl, you weren't about to answer your phone, I was worried there for a moment." Her Dad's relieved voice echoed into ear.

The Yellow Ranger paced the room before perching herself on the edge of a large box. "I'm alright, Dad. I'm just out with these new friends I made, the ones you didn't believe I had."

"I apologise for that, Ada, it just surprised me. Normally you barely make friends."

Placing a grin on her lips, Ada retorted. "New home, new me." If only he knew how true that was.

"About that..." James Cranston began. Dread filled Ada's heart, fear of leaving this new home behind consuming her. "Didn't you see the news? There are these beasts out there now. We moved to Pine Ridge to be safer, and now there are monsters."

"It seems they're following us wherever we go." Hummed Ada in thought. She reached up and tucked a chocolate curl of hair behind her ear and then added. "Dad, I don't want to move again. I like it here." She truly did like Pine Ridge already, but that wasn't the main reason why she didn't want to leave. Now she had friends and she was a Power Ranger. Things truly had changed since moving to Pine Ridge.

James sighed heavily through the phone. "I know, Adaline. I know you like it here. But this place, it's already unsafe and there are no Power Rangers here to protect it." So, no one knew about the Rangers yet.

A smirk crossed her lips. "Where there are monsters, Rangers aren't far behind. They'll turn up." She could hear her Dad debating on what to say next on the other end of the line. "Please, Dad." She pleaded. "I want to stay here."

Then James decided. "Okay. For now." Ada whooped in victory causing her Father to let out an amused laugh. "And I would like to meet these friends of yours at some point too."

Ada was absolutely beaming with joy and relief as he decided they were staying. "Of course." She ran her hand over her curls, feeling her entire body shake as the weight was lifted from her shoulders. "I'll see you later, Dad. Love you."

"Love you too, Adaline."

Then she hung up the phone.

Ada jumped for joy, clutching her phone tight to her chest, as her Dad announced they could stay. At least for the moment. She was so happy and relieved and she opened the door to share the news with her team, a blinding grin plastered across her face.

But when she re-entered the room, only Solon was there. It seemed the others had left without her. Her smile then dimmed.

Noticing her appearance, Solon then turned to face Ada. "So, how did it go?"

Beaming at the dinosaur, Ada threw out her arms in jubilation. "He said we could stay! Or, at least, for now."

Solon let out a joyful laugh. "Oh, that's wonderful news, Ada, dear." She made her way over to the Yellow Ranger and instantly Ada threw her arms around the scaly back of her dino friend. "It wouldn't be the same without you."

As Ada withdrew from the embrace, her eyes scanned the room once more. "Where are the others, Solon?" She frowned.

"They went to see Ollie's Mother up at Dinohenge." Solon informed her. "He went ahead and asked her to add the scanner to the drone."

Ada blinked in surprise. "For a genius, he really is an idiot. Combining human and alien tech can be very dangerous." An exasperated sigh escaped her lips. "I better go and help." She reached for her communicator and twisted the dial.

"Good luck, Yellow Ranger."

Ada smiled and pressed the button. And then she was gone.

WHEN ADA ARRIVED AT DINOHENGE, THINGS WEREN'T LOOKING GOOD. The others were battling Shockhorn and Void Knight and Dr Akana was dealing with Mucus. Wow, go Dr Akana! She stood behind a tree, watching for a moment to assess the situation, and then she reached down for her morpher.

"Link to Morphin Grid!" Yelled Ada as she launched herself into the air. Yellow formed all around her as she landed right in the centre of the battle.

"A fourth Ranger." Mumbled Dr Akana as she saw the Yellow warrior make her landing.

The Yellow Ranger threw up her sword, deflecting Shockhorn's attack from hitting Amelia. She nodded her thanks and then the two girls started to attack Shockhorn together.

Their swords met Shockhorns, holding him back. Then Amelia turned to Ada. "So, what did your Dad say?" She asked, eager to hear to the response. After just making an awesome friend, Amelia didn't want to lose her so quickly.

Together they pushed Shockhorn back and Ada looked to Amelia with a grin beneath her helmet. "He said we could stay!"

"Eee! That's amazing!" Amelia quickly said just as Shockhorn lunged at the two of them again.

Ollie got up off of the ground and joined the two girls in kicking Shockhorn's butt. Zayto was busy with Void Knight and once they were down with this unicorn monster, they were going to help him next. Metal met as they battled. And it seemed to be going okay until Dr Akana yelled out.

"Look out!"

They all moved their sights upwards to see the drone — with Void Knight's scanner attached — losing altitude. Amelia and Ada kicked Shockhorn back to the ground just as the drone dropped from the air. And the moment the human/alien tech combo met the Sporix beast, it exploded into a fiery blaze.

The Rangers were blasted backwards, landing on the forest floor with a thud. Shockhorn had been thrown who knows where by the explosion, so the Rangers had to deal with Void Knight next.

Ada grunted as she pushed herself up and was alright as her suit had absorbed most of the damage. They all looked to see Void Knight heading towards Ollie's Mom, so the Rangers quickly leapt into action.

They jumped between the evil warrior and the archaeologist, sabers raised and ready to defend her. "Stop right there!" Ollie warned as he wasn't about to let anyone hurt his Mother.

"I won't forget this." Void Knight told them before he turned to Mucus. And suddenly, the two vanished in purple beams of light. They were gone. For now anyway.

With them no longer a current threat, Ollie immediately ran over to his Mother. "Hey Mo— Uh, ma'am," Nice save there, Ollie. "are you Ok?"

"I'm fine, thanks to you." For someone who had just been attacked by Void Knight and two Sporix, the archaeologist seemed very calm. What a woman. "And you sound familiar? Have we met?" Damn, she was smart. Ada liked her even more now.

Ollie immediately assumed a fake deeper voice to throw his Mom off the trail. "Uh, no. N—No!" His stupid deep voice amused Ada and she had to stifle her own laughter. "Now, they may come back, so please get to safety."

"Yes, of course." Nodded the archaeologist before she glanced at the others too. "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Ada finally released her small giggle and Amelia stepped closer to Ollie, all still morphed. "Wow, real smooth." Ollie's Mother was really smart so Ada believed that she would find out at some point.

"Shockhorn could grown giant any minute." Informed Zayto as he looked at his friends. He had much experience with these beasts so they weren't about to doubt him. "You need to find him and stop him from hurting anyone while I activate my zord."

"So we might finally see a zord?"

"This is gonna be awesome!"

Ada Cranston loved a good zord and it seemed she wasn't alone in that because the others were also excited to see the Dino Fury zords in action.

The Rangers all grabbed their teleporters. "Let's go." And go they did.

AS EXPECTED, SHOCKHORN WAS CREATING QUITE THE PANIC ON THE STREETS OF PINE RIDGE. People were fleeing for their lives in all directions, screaming at the top of their lungs as soon as they saw the beast. The Rangers followed the sounds of fear and as soon as they rounded the corner, they watched as Shockhorn grew many times its size.

It was like how Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd would grow their monsters with their powers. But fortunately, Zedd was gone and Rita was a robot and had no part in what was happening now.

Ada gasped at the sight of Shockhorn's growth as her, Amelia and Ollie stared up at the gigantic beast. It worried them but they also knew Zayto had their backs with his T-Rex Champion zord.

"Whoa! There he is! Yikes."

"So, when Zayto said 'giant', what he meant was ginormous!" Ollie commented as he took in the sight before him.

Tilting her head, Ada observed the monster. "We can still do this, team. Even if he is a bit bigger now." She tried to reassure them.

"A 'bit'?" Scoffed Ollie.

Then Amelia suggested. "Let's try out some Boost Keys." Ooo, that sounded fun.

"Got it. I'll attack from above." The Blue Ranger told them as a plan started to form between the three. With them working together and Zayto having their backs, Ada was sure they could do this. They had to.

With Shockhorn running rampage around Pine Ridge and no zord in sight, the three Rangers could only follow him as he tore his way through the city. Their plan was coming into focus so they had to be ready.

Amelia summoned the gravi-dino key to chain the Sporix beast to the ground. Then, it was Ada's turn.

Reaching down to her belt, she felt the key she wanted appear on the side. Then she removed it and held it up to check. Oh how she loved these keys; it was the exact one she wanted. "Flare-dino key!" Ada clicked open the key. "Ready!" Inserting the key, Ada then pulled down on the dino handle so that it chomped down on the key. The eyes of the cross-bar illuminated with a powerful glow. Smirking, Ada sensed the key's power fuel her saber and then she flicked it down.

Armor built its way up from her saber, coming to a stop upon her shoulder. It spiked up into the air, the symbol for the flare-dino key displayed proudly on the plate. Wow, she looked awesome.

"Wow." Ada breathed out. "This is amazing!" Then, she turned her attention back on Shockhorn. "Hey, horsey, over here!" She may not have called him 'little' but her words seemed to still anger him and the Sporix creature tore his eyes from Amelia to look at the Yellow Ranger. "Flare flash!"

She struck down with her blade, forming a streak of blinding light across the ground. His eyes burnt from the intensity and he turned away as spots started to appear in his irises.

Now it was Ollie's turn with the hyper boost. Because this was their plan: disarm, distract and then attack.

But when Ollie launched into the air with the hyper boost, Shockhorn managed to regain some sense of sight to bat Ollie away after making his superpowered strike.

He landed beside Amelia, and Ada, on the other end of the walkway, quickly headed over to them. Her first instinct was to make sure he was alright — which he thankfully was — but Amelia wasn't doing too good. Shockhorn was fighting against the gravi-ball holding him down until finally he burst free from the chain.

And as he snapped the restraints, Amelia was sent backwards by the force. She would've ended up on the ground too if Ada hadn't caught her in time. The girls exchanged a quick nod.

They didn't take down Shockhorn. But that was never their plan to begin with. They just had to keep him busy until backup came to save the day. Which they did.

Because, in the distance, the three Rangers heard the sound of a roar. A roar no creature could make. They leapt up at it and narrowed their sights to see a red dinosaur zord heading their way.

"T-Rex Champion!" Whooped Ada, fist bumping the air. The other two just gasped as they watched the zord storm towards Shockhorn.

And the zord didn't stop until it had charged straight into Shockhorn, knocking him to the ground. Now that was what you called a zord. It roared in victory as it looked down at their fallen foe.

Amelia beamed up at the tyrannosaurus. "Oh man! Finally, a zord!"

Behind them Zayto appeared and he moved his way to stand before his teammates, right in front of his old zord friend. "Now it's time to finish this beast," He said, opening the golden box on their belt for his zord dino key. So that was what was in there. "T-Rex Champion Zord, battle mode!" After opening the key, he tossed it straight at his zord and the T-Rex went into battle mode as he commanded.

Blasting Shockhorn back, the zord prepared for another attack as the Rangers celebrated having a zord in action. And then things got even cooler when the T-Rex transformed into a fighting warrior. Like a Megazord but without the other zords.

Zayto glanced back at his awestruck teammates. "Let us show you what we can do. Stay here." And then Zayto teleported away to his zord to continue the fight with Shockwave — big edition.

Although the three wanted nothing more than to join Zayto in the zord cockpit, they remained where they were to see the battle unfold. Each of the Rangers were on the edges of their metaphorical seats as they watched the two fight it out. It was close here and there, each landing a blow and deflecting one.

Even on its own, the T-Rex Champion zord had a variety of moves, from a tail whip to using the jaw as a fist to punch Shockwave. And it was clear Zayto and the zord were gaining the upper hand. Then, he ended it all with a final strike. And Shockwave was no more.

"Holy shit!" Grinned Ada as she watched the zord win. "That was amazing!"

"I know, right!" Beamed Amelia as the girls turned to each other, knowing that the other was smiling beneath their mask.

But then something fell down the sky just as Zayto reappeared beside them. Ollie ran to the railing and stared down at the object. "What is that?" It was glowing and purple... it was a Sporix. Then she remembered how Solon said they couldn't destroy them which was why they were contained.

Zayto then confirmed her theory. "Blowing up a Sporix beast doesn't destroy it. It turns back into a Sporix with even more power." That was not good at all. "We have to get it."

They all nodded in agreement. Then they grasped the railings, throwing themselves over the top to try and reach the Sporix. They dashed straight for the glowing blob but they didn't get there in time because Void Knight appeared out of nowhere.

He was right beside the Sporix. He had gotten to it first.

"Void Knight!"

"Just what I needed." He said as he retrieved Shockhorn's sporix from the ground. "Thank you, Rangers."

They had beaten Shockhorn but Void Knight was going to get away with the Sporix. Zayto tried to reach him "No, that's—" But he cut himself off when Void Knight teleported away.

They may have won the battle, but it appeared they had already started losing the war.

WHEN THEY RETURNED TO BASE, ADA HAD TO CALL HER FRANTIC FATHER TO TELL HIM SHE WAS ALRIGHT. After seeing the Sporix beast grow from a safe distance, James Cranston immediately called his daughter and when he got no answer, he started to worry. Somehow Ada managed to convince him that nothing had happened to her during that time and blamed her phone. And when Ada asked him if it changed his decision, he said they could remain as long as they stayed away from the Rangers.

Oh how she was not looking forward to his reaction when he found out.

Void Knight had taken the powered up Sporix for some reason which worried them. Because what was this warrior intending to do with it or the others he would have had if his heist had turned out in his favour? They dreaded to think.

Once they had some time to cool off, Solon came up to them. "So, how did they do, Zayto?"

"They all fought very well today." He nodded his pride as he proceeded to touch all his Rangers on their shoulders. Hearing that she did good on her first official Ranger mission, it made Ada feel good and she smiled to show it.

Ollie, on the other hand, wasn't so sure on his success. "Maybe, but I still messed up—" He sighed. "And put my Mom in danger. I should've stuck with the plan we agreed on as a team." A regretful Ranger admitted. "I'm sorry."

"Water under the bridge."

Ada nudged him gently with her elbow. "Yeah, we all make mistakes, Ollie. It's okay."

"I'm just glad to have three good teammates at my side." He smiled at the Blue, Pink and Yellow Rangers before turning to his dinosaur friend. "I think it's time the Rangers put a message out to the city."

"Good idea."

An idea popped into Amelia's head. "Guys, we do it at BuzzBlast! They'll be glad to help."

Ollie nodded in agreement. "Sound like an idea, shall we go?"

"Absolutely." Beamed Ada.

Then the four Rangers morphed once more and then vanished with their teleporters. She hoped Amelia was right, and that BuzzBlast could help them. Because the more people aware of Sporix beasts, the better.

AMELIA'S BOSS — JANE — WAS ABSOLUTELY OVER THE MOON WHEN SHE HEARD THAT THE RANGERS WANTED HER HELP TO SPREAD THEIR MESSAGE.
And that was how Zayto ended up in front of the camera, with the three standing still behind him. BuzzBlast had helped them create a script of what to say so Zayto was preparing to read off of it as he stared into the camera.

Then, they rolled the cameras and Zayto began. He started a small explanation before drawing to its natural conclusion. "... Working together will keep us safe. If you find a Sporix or a Sporix beast, call, text or direct message the Ranger Hotline immediately."

Ada stepped forwards. "Together, we can defeat these Sporix beasts and save our city."

"And... cut!"

"We did it." Ollie said as he moved to capture all his team in his gaze. Amelia had not said a word since entering BuzzBlast out of fear someone may recognise her voice so she just nodded with Ollie.

As the camera was shut and the video feed sent to editing, Jane made her way over to the Rangers. "We'll be posting this all over BuzzBlast within the next hour."

"Thank you, for your assistance." Zayto told them.

"And thank you from saving Pine Ridge from that huge horse monster, Rangers." Beamed the CEO as she placed her hands on her hips. Behind her J-Borg was staring at the Rangers curiously, having not really known what Rangers were before. "And if there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know."

Nodding in gratitude, Ada offered her hand out to the woman to shake it. "Thank you. We really appreciate it." Then, she turned to her friends. "Shall we leave these good people to prepare the video?"

No answer was needed and then the four Rangers said their goodbyes and left the BuzzBlast building behind them. Outside, they stared around at the city that was still intact because of them. They had done a good job.

Zayto then reached over to demorph, but Ada quickly jumped in and stopped him. "While we're still morphed, there's something we have to do." The Rafkonian frowned. "A Ranger selfie!"

"Ooo." Amelia started bouncing on the spot. "Yes, we totally have to!"

Whipping out her phone, Ada switched on the camera and glanced over to the others. "Come on, get in here." With her team, she was happy. Together it felt like they were whole. Noticing Zayto's hesistation, Ada quickly reassured him. "Don't worry, Zayto, we'll be careful with this picture."

"But you are gonna send it to me, right?" Pressed Amelia.

"Of course." Ada nodded and then she stopped, an idea crossing her mind. "That reminds me," She then pulled out of the camera before taking the image and flicked open the message app. And within a few seconds, a Dino Fury group chat had been established.

Ollie nodded in approval. "Sweet."

Casting a look to Zayto, Ada cringed slightly. "Sorry, Zayto, I would have added you too. It's just... you don't have a phone." Then she added in a more cheery tone. "But I'll print off this picture, if you'd like, you can hang it in your room."

"I would like."

"Good." Smiled Ada before she returned to the camera on her phone. "Now, let's all get in here." And once they were all satisfied with their positions in the picture, they prepared to take it. "Say 'Rangers'!"

"Rangers!"

Ada captured the image as the quartet giggled. And once they pulled back, Ada sent the image to the new chat and her and the others demorphed into their original clothes. It was a good picture.

She was at the front, yellow and proud, there was Amelia next to her, their shoulders touching. Ollie crouched down slightly and poked his way into the picture from the side. And Zayto, he stood behind them, his arms wrapped around the trio. They were his Rangers and he was their leader. It was just the perfect picture.

Amelia poked her head over Ada's shoulder to get a good look at the picture. "We look AMAZING!"

"Yeah, we do."

They all then turned to Zayto expectantly. He stared at it and then hummed and he pondered. "It is nice picture." The trio exchanged triumphant high-fives.

"Now, I'm going to post it to the Mighty Morphin' group chat." Ada informed them as she scrolled through her phone. "I hope that's alright?"

"There's a Mighty Morphin' group chat?"

The Mighty Morphin group chat was a wonderful thing including every Mighty Morphin Ranger and their family that know about it. Nowadays it was more used to keep in touch, nostalgia and to notify the others whenever they met another Ranger team. Well, it seemed like Ada was going to make things a little more interesting now.

Amelia then answered for Ollie. "Yeah, that's okay. I'm guessing this is how you're going to tell your family?"

"Yep." Ada popped the 'p' as she brought up the chat on her phone and selected their Ranger selfie. Here went nothing.

mini cranston:
Hi there, fam. It is I, yours truly, in the yellow. Evidently, a lot has happened since I moved to Pine Ridge and although I never intended for it to happen, I am proud to say that I am now one of the Dino Fury Rangers! The Yellow Pterodactyl Ranger is here to unleash the Fury on the local monsters. PS: Please don't tell Dad, I haven't told him.
#yellowpower #morphenomenal

"And... done." She then pressed send on the message. And as soon as that message was sent, she jumped over to privately message Minh. Minh had been on the chat ever since she found out about her Mother and Ada didn't want to upset her with being the yellow Ranger. She was the first Yellow to appear since Trini was lost, which wasn't very long ago. So, she made sure to message Minh to ensure all was okay. And from the message she received back, the young Kwan was alright with it and would rather it be Ada than anyone else.

A smile crossed her face as messages came through from her family. They were congratulating her on becoming a Ranger, complimenting her suit and saying things like Uncle Tommy: I always knew you had it in you, or her Uncle Zack: Like Father, Like Daughter. And speaking of her Papa, after a minute or so everyone — apart from her Uncle Adam and her Aunt Aisha who were in space — had replied but not her Papa.

But then her phone rang.

Amelia smiled encouragingly at Ada as the PAPA SMURF appeared on her phone screen. "Good luck. You've got this, Ada." Turning to the phone, Amelia giggled at the name. "I get it: it's because he's Blue and you call him Papa. That's brilliant."

"Excellent reference." Agreed Ollie. Behind them, Zayto was baffled. He had understood that this was a nickname and a reference to something, he just didn't know what. "I'll tell you in a minute, man." Promised Ollie who then refocused on Ada. "Amelia's right, you've got this."

"Did you just say that I'm right?" Ollie groaned, regretting his words already. A laugh escaped Ada's throat before she walked away to get some space.

Then she answered her phone.

Her Papa's voice thankfully did not sound mad as he spoke. "Adaline Cranston, you're a Ranger now?"

Ada spared a glance back at her friends; Amelia was giving her a thumbs up whilst Ollie and Zayto seemed to be engrossed in a conversation which was probably the Blue Ranger explaining what Smurfs were. "Yeah, Papa, I am."

"How did it happen, sweetie?" He asked and so she told him. Billy Cranston wasn't mad, or disappointed and he knew very well he could handle herself, he was just curious and a little worried as any Father would be. She told him everything. From building that scanner, to Dinohenge, to Void Knight. And throughout it all, he just listened and didn't say a word. This was her story to tell and he wouldn't interrupt it. Then, she finished with the actions of the day. "Wow, those are some incredible events you have experienced, Ada."

"So... what do you think, Papa?"

Ada was nervous to hear her Papa's response. His support had always meant the world to her. "I think you're going to be an amazing Ranger, sweetie." She almost fainted with joy to hear those words. "And don't worry, I won't tell your Dad a thing." Ada breathed out a small sigh of relief. "And if you ever have any questions about being a Ranger, or in general, you know you can call me, right?"

The Cranston girl was beaming. "Of course, Papa."

"Then good luck, Ada. I love you. And may the Power protect you."

"I love you too, Papa."

And then Ada hung up the phone. With elated jumps, Ada made her way back to her team, grinning from ear to ear. On her way back, she checked her phone once more and spotted that her Dad had messaged and quickly looked at it before returning to her friends.

Amelia grabbed Ada's arm. "I'm guessing by that big grin on your face, that it went well."

"Very." She beamed at her friends who smiled at her smile. "And I just got a message from my Dad, he's asked if you'd all like to come around for dinner. Part of me thinks he wants to ensure you're not real and that I'm not making you up."

A kind smile graced Zayto's lips. "I would love to attend. I have not eaten anything in 65 million years."

"Wow, dude! How are you still standing?"

Zayto just laughed at Ollie's words. "I'm alright. But I am a bit hungry."

Wow, Ada couldn't believe she forgot. He had been in that pod for 65 million years in stasis so he hadn't been awake nor eaten a thing. The pod kept him alive all that time. So this was his first meal since the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. And Ada was afraid to disappoint.

Slowly, she then said. "I know it won't be Rafkonian, but my Dad is making his famous Mexican buffet. It's one of his best." So many thoughts flashed through her mind as she pondered Rafkonian cuisine. "You won't know Earth food but is there anything you definitely don't eat."

Thumb raising to rest beneath his chin, Zayto pondered her question for a moment and then mused. "Well, when I arrived on Earth I noticed that creatures were eating other sentient lifeforms. Do you still do that?"

"You mean meat?" Ollie queried as they all glanced to the Knight. "Humans are omnivores so we eat meat and vegetables."

"On Rafkon, we don't feel comfortable eating other sentient beings." Zayto explained. Of course, they could read minds so they obviously wouldn't feel right about eating something that had a mind they could read.

Amelia raised her brow. "So you're a vegetarian?"

It took Zayto a moment to figure out what that word meant and then he nodded. "I believe so, yes."

"Don't worry." Grinned Ada who swung her arm around the man's shoulder. "My Dad always has vegetarian options."

"Well, then, what are we waiting for. Food awaits!"

And so the four Rangers headed to Ada's home where a James Cranston would be amazed to find what good friends his daughter had already made in Pine Ridge. Then he knew, despite the Sporix and Rangers now in the city, he couldn't move her again.

Pine Ridge was their new home.

Chapter four is here!!! Woooo!!!

In this chapter, a lot happens. We get to hear from both of Ada's fathers and they have their first zord fight! Also, there is, of course, a Ranger group chat. I feel like each team (and acquaintances) would have one and then there would be an overall chat with every team. You know, to keep each other informed and to offer advice and support. Fortunately, Ada's Dad — James — is not on the chat as he wanted to distance himself from the Rangers.

Also, Rafkonians being vegetarians makes so much sense. If I had the ability to read the mind of any creature, I wouldn't want to eat them. I just thought it would be nice to add something like that for Zayto.

Anyway, thank you for reading!!!

Sincerely Rosie aka Winter326
