CHAPTER SEVEN — NEW ALLIES
new recruits — part two

"Big superhero mood." — izzy garcia

THEY FOLLOWED IZZY GARCIA TO HER BROTHER'S SECRET SPOT DEEP IN THE FOREST. Honestly, it was the perfect place to hide and seemed very inspirational in the musical sense. Not that Ada would know as she had no clue when it came to anything to do with music. But it seemed Javi's hiding place wasn't as secret as he believed because when Izzy and the Rangers began their approach, they spotted the evil beings from before.

They were surrounding Javi, trying to the orb from him. And then, as Draknarok distracted him, Boomtower snatched the green sphere right from his hands. Ada hoped now they had the orb, they would leave Javi alone, but it appeared they thought it would be fun to punish him for this theft. 

"Now for the fun."

Yet before Boomtower could use the power of the orb, Izzy threw her javelin with accuracy and strength. 

It knocked the orb from the robot's hands, sending it flying to the ground. The robot groaned as once again the orb was taken from him. But that was the least of his issues now because the Rangers had arrived.

"Javi!" 

"Izzy!"

The two siblings quickly reunited with a tight embrace and the four Rangers ran straight past them. Ada and the others stopped, sabers raised and ready, to place themselves between the followers of Void Knight and the Garcia siblings. 

Zayto stared at the creatures. "Ready for round two?"

"Bring it."

A smirk formed on the Cranston girl's lips. "You asked for it, Draknarok. Shall we bring about Ragnarök?" Then the Rangers leapt into action, slicing their blades out towards their foe. Each saber illuminated with their colour, adding their Morphin power to every hit.

Ada blinked in confusion as the Garcia siblings dashed past. But right now, even if she didn't know what they were up to, she had to make sure that Boomtower and Draknarok didn't know either.

The Rangers fought valiantly with each stroke of their blade. Ada ducked a swing from Boomtower before kicking him in the chest. Perhaps some of her Uncle Zack's hip-hop-kido would confuse them? Well, maybe she should save that for a different battle.

Jumping high into the air, Ada brought down her saber in a powerful strike to Draknarok's back, sending him flying forwards to an open Ranger. But they were losing. 

Amelia was already on the ground, panting for breath. And Ollie, Ada thought he was next as he clutched the dragon's back who was trying desperately to throw him. Then, as Ollie went flying over the Sporix beast's shoulder, Boomtower swung in with one strong hit to Ada's chest.

Pain erupted in her torso as she felt his metal hand make contact with her suit. The power behind the throw sent her flying through the air until she landed by Amelia and Ollie with a loud thud. Wow, that hurt.

She groaned in pain as she felt Boomtower's hit and the landing damage her body. Hopefully the pain would vanish soon, but for now, she was done for.

Zayto was still standing, but not for long as with one hit from Boomtower, he too was hurtling towards them. All four of them were down. This wasn't good.

"Tonight's menu — roast Ranger." Draknarok smirked as they headed towards the grounded Rangers. The morphed quartet tried to push themselves up and away, but the beasts were coming in fast. "Yum, yum, yum!"

She hadn't been a Ranger very long and now it could all be over. She knew she was nothing like the Mighty Morphin' Rangers. They wouldn't have gone down as easy. 

Ada tried to control her breathing and push herself up, or at least reach for her teleport. Yet before she could do a thing, a high pitched tone reverberated through the trees. It was Javi. And he was playing the Harmonica.

Draknarok's hands shot up to cover his ears as he seemed to hate the sound of music. "Aargh!" He cried. "My ears!" Hearing the beast dislike Javi's music just made him play louder.

"What is that infernal ruckus?"

"Please stop!" Begged the Sporix beast. 

With Javi's distraction, it gave the Rangers enough time to begin to push themselves back onto their feet. Ada's injuries felt a bit better, enough to fight again that was for certain. So, she used her saber to help her up.

Then Izzy joined her brother's side as she emerged from behind a tree. "Did someone lose a paperweight?" She held up the green orb.

"Huh? Yeah." Boomtower quickly spoke up. "That thing will make me invincible." 

"Which is why we can't let you have it, brickbrain." Sneered Ada as she finally stood up on two feet. Her knees threatened to give way on her, but she managed to remain up. Becoming invincible was rarely ever a good thing so they had to make sure he didn't get the orb.

Ada looked back and was amazed when she saw a green burst of energy flow from the orb and through Izzy. "Wow. It really does feel powerful."

"Give it to me!" Demanded Boomtower.

"Ok." Nodded Javi as he took the orb from his sister. A frown crossed the Yellow Ranger's lips; what was the musician planning? "But I can be a bit clumsy, and... Uh-oh. This thing's slippery." 

Ada smirked when she realised his plan. And then watched as Javi slammed the orb down onto the nearest rock, shattering it entirely. Green light consumed the air, blinding them as it soared up with the expelled energy. Well, there goes the local artifact. 

But what was inside the orb, that was more valuable than the orb ever was intact. Because, what had been giving the orb all this power was the lost Saber-toothed tiger and Stegosaurus dino keys.

They had found more keys.

Meaning... more Rangers.

Javi and Izzy held them in their hands and stared at the keys curiously. "What are these?"

"I thought those were lost." Zayto told them as he looked to them in disbelief and awe. "They're Dino keys."

"Tiger and Stego are back!" Cheered Ada and she didn't realise how right she was when she said that. As a moment later, light consumed the Garcia siblings. Light that came from... the keys.

The keys had bonded to them. They were the new Rangers.

Black power consumed Javi as green flowed around Izzy. It started to grow, to cover more and more of their bodies. "Whoa! What's happening?"

"You're about to find out." Beamed Ada who then turned to Amelia who too was practically bouncing with excitement. 

The power and light continued to build and build until finally, there was a flash and two Rangers were left in their places.

"What?"

"They morphed?"

A chuckle bubbled in Ada's throat as she took in the siblings. "This is Morphenomenal!" She beamed elatedly. 

Quickly, the siblings turned to each other. "Are you...? Am I...? Are we the...?"

"The Green and Black Rangers?" Zayto smiled behind his helmet as he gestured between them. After believing they were lost, it felt him with so much joy to see that the keys were still around. That way, part of his lost teammates could live on. "Yep."

"Sweet!"

Izzy and Javi were almost dumbfounded. "This is a dream come true!" The Green Ranger giggled.

"I know, right?" Agreed Javi.

When Izzy caught sight of the green skirt around her waist, she paused. "Hold that thought." She told her brother and then proceeded to rip the skirt clean off her suit. Now she was just like Ada and the boys. "Skirts aren't really my thing." She then tossed it away.

"I'm with you there, girl." Nodded Ada in concurrence. She then lifted her hand up for the new female addition to high-five. Which, of course, she did. 

"Hey!" The sound of Boomtower's voice broke them all from their peaceful trance and they all whipped towards him, sabers raised and ready. "That orb was meant to be my thing." Whined the robot. "You're gonna pay." Why do they always say that? "Hengemen!"

In a flash of purple, the Hengemen appeared in front of Boomtower and Draknarok. And as soon as they landed, they charged at the now six Rangers. 

Zayto, Amelia, Ollie and Ada took the lead and launched themselves at Void Knight's foot soldiers with their dino sabers ready. Then the new Green and Black Rangers were hot on their heels and jumped into the battle after them. Ada swung her sword, slicing down a Hengeman with ease. 

Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Izzy and Javi working together to take down the Hengemen. She even tossed him her saber so he could slash down the soldiers with two blades. Meanwhile, Ada jumped backwards over an incoming spear and as she flew above, she brought down her blade and reduced the Hengeman to rubble.

Izzy was using her javelin that she plucked from the ground to take down every Hengemen in her path. The Garcia siblings met again when their warpaths crossed and once they checked to see if the other was alright, they vanished into the fight once more. Wow, they were amazing.

They were so good that the other four had to stop for a moment to admire their awesomeness. "That's some brother-sister synergy right there."

"They're incredible." Ada agreed with Zayto as they watched the siblings continue to fight.

Javi threw Izzy back her blade, which she somehow managed to catch on the end of her javelin. Using its momentum, she whipped it around the Hengemen before flinging it straight at Boomtower. His sword was knocked clean from his metallic hands by her saber that somehow ended up metres above his head, directly into the tree. 

Ada had to shake herself free from her awe-consumed trance to return to fighting the other Hengemen. The Stego Fury Ranger had gone after Draknarok whilst the Tiger Fury Ranger remained with Boomtower. She propelled the javelin into the air so that it landed in the tree above her saber.

"Take that." Shouted Ada as she knocked down another soldier with her blade. And as soon as it touched the earth, it exploded into pieces. Now that was another gone.

Izzy launched herself at Boomtower, using his head to jump high up the tree so that she landed on top of her javelin stuck in the bark. The Ptero Fury Ranger could only watched as she fell forwards, grabbing her saber on the way down, and then struck Boomtower directly on his shoulder. 

Ouch.

Ada, Amelia, Zayto and Ollie reduced the last of the Hengemen to rubble as Boomtower teleported away. They then all jumped in from every direction to help Javi take on Draknarok. The six Rangers surrounded the dragon Sporix, their sabers high and prepared to strike. 

"You know what happens if a Sporix beast fights long enough?" Oh no. Here they went again. "Spoiler alert — we grow!!!" 

Draknarok burst up through the trees, his form illuminated with the bright light of power that fuelled his rapid expansion. He roared at them as he sailed up high into the sky so that the Rangers became like ants beneath his scaly feet. Now that dragon was incredibly big.

"It's not like he was gonna shrink." Javi pointed out. 

Now fully grown, Draknarok let out a monstruous roar that reverberated through their eardrums and rang in their skulls. 

The implication of what the now huge monster meant excited the Garcia siblings. "Ooh. Is it zord time?" Izzy almost squealed/

"You're a quick learner."

"Yes!"

Zayto reached for his communicator and Ada prepared to reach for her dino key. "Solon, deploy the T-Rex Champion, Tricera Blade, Ptero Wing and Anklyo Hammer zords." He asked. 

Then their zords were deployed from their hiding places and were heading in their direction. The feeling you get when you see your zord, it's... unlike any other. It swelled in Ada's chest as soon as she caught sight lemon-yellow dinosaur flying straight for her. And a grin spread across her lips.

"Zords combine!"

The four Rangers tossed their keys towards their zords, allowing them to form one huge megazord. Draknarok was going down. 

And when the formation of red, blue, pink and yellow was complete, all six Rangers teleported inside. Yet, the console formation was different than last time. When there was just four of them, they were arranged in a diamond, with Ada at the back, but now she was at the front, side-by-side with Zayto.

The Red Ranger was on her left, with Izzy diagonally down from him and Javi behind her. And Ada, she had Amelia behind her to the right and Ollie's console was a mirror reflection of Javi's. Ada had no idea why she was at the front with their leader. But then she recalled the number of statues at dino henge. Because if the full seven members were there, then Zayto would be like the point of their arrowhead. But, for now, Ada was adjacent to him.

"Whoa!" Izzy gasped.

Javi, too, was impressed. "Teleportation! Awesome!"

Then all six Rangers plunged their dino sabers into their consoles. "Linked! Dino Fury Megazord!"

Now connected to their zord, Ada and the others withdrew their blades from the stands and prepared to fight.

"My own console." Admired Izzy as she was amazed by everything around her. Being a Ranger fan and then becoming a Ranger yourself would do that to you. "Cant it play music?"

"Huh?" Ada paused. "I hadn't thought of that."

Then Zayto quickly reminded them about the matter at hand. "Look out!" He cried and then they all whipped around to see the giant dragon with a large rock in his hands.

"Let's Drakna rock!"

That may have been a terrible quip, but they had bigger problems when he threw that giant stone right at them. It crashed against the T-Rex chest of their megazord, shattering into many different pieces. The megazord shook and rocked as the impact made them unsteady. Ada quickly held out her hands for balance.

But they quickly recovered.

Zayto raised his saber. "Our turn. Let's go."

Explosions boomed all around them as they headed straight for Draknarok. He even tried his burning purple flames but as it approached them, they all jumped in their consoles and the megazord launched into the air. 

They struck down with their sabers to hit Draknarok from above before coming to a land. But they didn't stop their momentum and carried on running across the sides of the mountains before swinging the Tricera blade once more. But the dragon caught it.

Yet when they pulled the blade from his grasp, Ada and the others  moved at an angle so the sharp wing of the Ptero zord sliced into Draknarok's side. Then he tried to use his tail to smack them down, but the Rangers all ducked and spun around in their consoles. 

Moving as one inside their Megazord, it felt like second nature to them all. It felt natural and right. Like they could feel the flow of each other and predict the next movement. It was incredible.

The ruins around them became, well, more ruined as they continued their battle. Ada hated to admit it, but this guy was tough.

Eruptions occurred all around them as the megazord clashed with the Sporix beast. And currently, neither were winning. So, the Rangers had to try a different approach.

They leapt up onto the top of a large hill and Zayto commanded. "Shift to knee drill!" The Tricera blade and the Ptero wing detached from the zord's arm. As the blade moved down to the side of the megazord's knee, the wing now replaced where the Tricera zord once was.

Together, they spun and kicked towards Draknarok. Effort-filled grunts escaped them as they did so. And when the kick reached the dragon, the blade struck. 

And Draknarok's tail was severed.

He fell to the ground with an echoing thud but he was still not out yet. So, they called for the final attack.

"Time to cut to the finish." Zayto's hand shot up in preparation as he summoned the blade. "Mega Fury Saber!" He pulled it down and brought it to his chest and the others mirrored his movements with their own blades.

"Dino Fury Megazord! Mega slash!"

Charged with the power of the four zords, the Rangers raised their blades as the Megazord charged at a fallen Draknarok. Despite his best efforts to deter them with purple flames, the Megazord dropped to one knee and skidded along the ground to strike the dragon with one final blow.

And final it most certainly was.

Because Draknarok flew through the air and when he landed, he exploded in a large blast. 

"Dino Fury Victory!"

THE BATTLE WAS OVER AND DONE WITH — THEY HAD WON — AND DRAKNAROK'S SPORIX WAS THEIRS. So, it was a double win for Team Ranger. Although, Ada believed it to be triple win considering the new additions they now had. With six Rangers in Pine Ridge, instead of four, they most certainly had a better chance of taking down Void Knight.

They teleported back to the base, bringing their new Rangers with them who were in awe of their surroundings from the moment they arrived. Ada knew that feeling: the utter disbelief of becoming a Ranger. And also the thrill of it too.

"Whoa."

Izzy commented. "Big superhero mood." 

"You should see the others." Chuckled Ada, arms crossed over her chest. She knew exactly what many of the other Ranger bases looked like, and although she definitely preferred theirs, some were more extravagant or had more hero than space vibes. Izzy and Javi both glanced to each other and went to say something, but fortunately, Zayto cut in.

He opened his arms out to greet them. "Welcome to our humble base."

The Garcia siblings managed to figure out how the morphers worked as with a press of the right button, they both demorphed inside their headquarters. Which was their headquarters now too. 

With them demorphed and out in the open, the others decided to do the same.

Ada felt the power vanish from around her as the Ranger armour left. Then she smiled and waved at their new allies welcomingly. "And welcome to the team." Zayto beamed. 

Their jaws dropped at the sight of the familiar quartet. They just couldn't believe their eyes. "Your four are the Rangers?" Javi, like his sister, was dumbfounded.

"I had no idea."

A happy Zayto stepped closer to their new teammates. "We had no idea that the Tiger and Stego Dino Keys had survived." It felt so good to hear that the keys were still around, especially for Zayto.

"I wonder what else is out there, waiting to be discovered." Mused Ollie as a curious gleam shone in his eyes.

A smirk crossed the Yellow Ranger's lips. "Well, whatever is out there. We'll find it together." There was still a Ranger missing and no doubt over keys and boosts that had been lost 65 million years ago in the Sporix wars of Earth. Ada believed they would find them, with time.

"Maybe a couple of zords for us?" Asked Izzy who was twiddling with the ends of her green sleeves. 

"Possibly." Nodded Zayto hopefully before he glanced back to Ollie, Amelia and Ada. "You humans sure do love your zords." It seemed the 'you humans' had gone completely over the siblings' heads, but they would find out soon enough. And he was right, humans did like their zords. Then, the Red Ranger turned back the Saber-toothed tiger and Stegosaurus Rangers. Ada felt a small pang in her heart as she looked at the Green Ranger as she now shared the same creature her late Aunt Trini did. But Ada knew Izzy would honour that name well. "And here's another surprise." He called out. "Hey, Solon."

This was gonna be interesting.

They led the way to the door of the adjacent room as Solon appeared from within. "Welcome, friends." She smiled at the new additions. "You look hungry. Can I get you a snack?"

"You're a—"

"Half cyborg, half dinosaur." Supplied the Solonosaurus. "Strange, I know. Took some adjusting for me too. But that's nothing." Here it comes. Ada looked to Zayto with a teasing smile as Solon said. "Zayto's a knight from Planet Rafkon." The Rafkonian in question brought forth his antennae. Ada did not expect Solon to continue. "And Ada here is the daughter of the Mighty Morphin' Blue Ranger." Well, it was gonna come out at some point.

Their jaws dropped in shock as they glanced between the extra-terrestrial and the Ranger legacy. 

Javi's eyes widened to the size of saucers as he looked to Ada. "You're—"

"Yep."

Izzy focused on Zayto with a grin. "So you are a knight?" She realised with a chuckle, recalling what he had said earlier that day. "This is the coolest day of my life." Then she looked over to her brother, tapping his arm. "Javi, I'm glad you broke that orb."

Then he remembered. "Oh no! The orb!" He exclaimed, throwing down his hands in defeat. "It's history."

"In more ways than one."

Javi turned to Zayto. "So is the deadline for our BuzzBlast stories." The Rafkonian just sighed and nodded in acceptance. Being a Ranger would always come first to him. "There's no way Jane will give either of us the job now." Sadly, the musician hung his head. "I need to find a new way to pay for that keytar." Oh how Ada wished she was good at music, but she wasn't. Like, at all.

"There's plenty of jobs around." Izzy tried to comfort her brother. "You want 10 bucks to clean my room?"

Her words just made them all laugh. And as Ada looked around the room to all the smiling faces, she realised that these new Rangers just made them feel more complete.

WHEN JAVI AND ZAYTO DECIDED TO FACE BUZZBLAST, ADA AND THE OTHERS WENT FOR MORAL SUPPORT. Because that was how they did things now as Rangers — together. Being a part of a team meant having each other's backs, off and on the battle field. And besides, they were her friends, she wanted to help.

As soon as they stepped into the building, they noticed how everyone was laughing, but they couldn't figure out why. But then they did. Because right there on the screen was J-Borg presenting the news, or at least, trying to. Because at the moment, they were being electrocuted by some sort of electric fence and it was making their body convulse and their hair stick up as far as it could go.

Finally, the android let go of the fence, much to their relief, and somehow managed to recover what story they were presenting. "And that was a shock." 

They all laughed. Well done, J-Borg. It wasn't a bad attempt for what, their second time presenting live news.

But from the looks of it, the android was gonna need their circuits looked at after that much exposure to electricity. Ada would gladly help, but she believed Jane would already have it covered.

Speaking of Jane, the woman exited the sound booth and immediately spotted her two interviewees. "Zayto, Javi, there you are."

Zayto, ever the honest one, was first to tell Jane the truth. "I'm afraid we couldn't finish those stories for you."

"I'm sorry I let you down, Jane." He felt incredibly bad about it despite literally saving the city an hour before. "Please, let me explain."

But Jane interjected. "There's no need." Ada bit her lip nervously as this could go either way. "What you did at the museum today, jumping in to protect the orb, it showed guts and dedication — two things every great reporter needs." 

Javi did it! Ada grinned at the young man as she was so happy for him. But unfortunately that meant Zayto didn't get the job. Yet, somehow Ada believed this was for the better. Despite him seeming ready for the modern world, Ada wasn't sure he could be content working at BuzzBlast. 

Jane continued. "It would be a privilege to have someone as brave and resourceful as you on our team." She offered out her hand. "Welcome to BuzzBlast."

As soon as Jane and Javi shook on it, the deal was set. Javi was now employed at BuzzBlast with Amelia. This was amazing.

"Thanks, I really appreciate it."

The head of BuzzBlast moved on to Zayto with a sad smile. "Close," She said and then clapped a hand down on his shoulder. "but no chihuahua." Huh?

"Well, congrats." Zayto told Javi with a small grin. "You're the right man for the job."

"Yes, he is." Agreed Jane as she returned to her new employee. Wrapping her arm around his shoulders, she started to lead him away as she gave him his first official story. "Now, Javi, for your first story, you gotta find the best hamburger in Pine Ridge."

Now that sounded like fun. Ada wasn't the best writer, numbers were more her thing, which was why she became a waitress instead of going for this job. 

Amelia shook her head at Jane's assignment. "Wow. My first story was completely different. I had to find the best taco." Amelia told them and they all laughed. 

"Hey, Javi!" Ada called out, causing the new Black Ranger to halt in his tracks. "You can drop by my work and try out the ones we have at the diner." 

He laughed and shot her a shining smile. "Got it! I'll see you there, Ada."

And as Ada watched the Ranger leave, she turned to the others with a content look across her face. Just like how her Papa had his family in his Ranger team, so did she.

Chapter seven!!!!

Here we have Izzy and Javi being a part of the team! More Rangers!!! Woohoo!! Ada knows the importance of bringing in new Rangers.

I love Ada so much and she adores her team. Like her Papa, she sees her Ranger team as her family. It's so fun to write this fic! I adore it!
